This farm focuses on sustainability and regenerative farming; I appreciated learning that the main course was a byproduct of Ahi fishing: the Mongchong. The practice of lessening our waste is something we all need to be wary and partake in and respect the earth and the oceans that we take nourishment from. The meal was very special. This is a great chance to taste the unfamiliar; food you'll never taste on the mainland. I hope they excel when they start their restaurant business!

The farm tour- at least with the guide we had- was a wander through a small organic garden with a guide describing some plants that might be exotic if you're from the mainland- it's pleasant and interesting. There's no serious description of agriculture on Hawaii or why Hawaii has to import food or what might be done about it. There was no asking for questions, and a maybe 30% disinformation content. I'd suggest the owners list on the menu for the day where each item comes from- clearly that's what their clientele is interested in? Some of this might have been covered in the 4 minute meet with the chef, but I didn't retain it. It would be fun to know what all the ingredients are. Any last minute unforeseen swaps could then be discussed before the meal, since the visitors are interested in sustainable Ag we'd be interested in its unpredictability too.

A must to bring your own bags to hold your buys. This year we found 2 produce stands. The one we chose had pineapples, mangos, lychee, cucumber, green onion that we bought. Also had papaya, tomatoes & other produce to buy. Prices are not cheap. But you are supporting local farmers & quality is good. The Indian food stand had 4 types of samosas & some plates. We had the pork Kalua Somoza & pork & egg samosa. Both delicious. Again not cheap. One stand had lilikoi cinnamon rolls with lilikoi frosting. Very good. Had a guava masalada which was okay. Found a stand with GF bakery goods. Baked with King Arthur GF flour. Also very little use of nuts. The lemon curd oatmeal bar was delicious. Definitely would buy again. Had some breads, we got carrot pineapple. Small, but good. Also bought coconut macaroons - quality ingredients. Every year, we buy from the Kauai Gourmet Nut stand. Several delicious varieties of macadamia nuts or mixed nuts to choose from. Free samples so you can decide which ones you want. Crunch berries & the rosemary garlic are our favorites. There was a stand selling sourdough bread this year. We made garlic bread with ours. We will definitely be buying more next weekend. My son bought from a stand selling Hawaiian Hydration products. They have Hawaiian sea salt as part of the electrolyte sugar free drink mix. His girlfriend says the dragonfruit flavor is delicious. She's been using every day to help vs. dehydration. We always shop this Farmer's Market as it is 10 minutes from our timeshare. Just a matter of getting there close to 9am opening to get best choice of fruits. The drawback is the high prices, but again you're supporting locals & in general, the quality of goods is high.

We loved our 2bedroom villa, while we had plenty of space the property itself is small enough that walking anywhere doesn't feel like a chore. Here is where we fall off and don't quite hit the 5 stars. Our villa was super clean. Toilets weren't fully cleaned upon arrival and they definitely didn't do a better job during our stay. The couch and blankets had a few mystery stains that grossed me out. Cocktails and the restaurant are insanely expensive. We are talking 28 dollars for a cocktail. Additionally the staff member Nancy (pool attendant) was rude to me. I wasn't able to locate a dry chair in the sun at 4pm. so I asked an employee for permission to use a chair near the cabana. Permission was granted but she wasn't happy about it. So asked me to move, while I didn't have issue with moving I did find it rather unprofessional of her to yell at me for not reading the sign and while she offered to help me when I asked to a dry chair on the sun she walked away ranting about my lack of awareness. To make matters worse the same employee had a separate issue with my husband in reguarda to pool towels. When I tried to address it with the front they weren't very helpful. All in all we did have a great week there and hope to go back.

Alii Kauai Weddings did the best job helping me plan my dream elopement from Texas. I had never been to Kauai or even on a tropical vacation anywhere and they were always available to answer my questions and helped me plan everything out exactly like I wanted. The moment that I realized I had definitely made the right decision hiring them was when our flight got delayed causing us to miss our connecting flight and we got stuck in Los Angeles the night before our wedding! It was so stressful and I don't know what I would have done without Jessica. I called her and explained what happened and that we would not be able to get a flight until the next day ( Sunday, our planned wedding day). She made a miracle happen and was able to move our wedding from Sunday to Monday: flowers, cake, videographer, photographer, officiant, wedding coordinator and all! I couldn't believe it and was so grateful to not have to go from the airport straight to our wedding! The vendors that she works with were exceptional. The flowers were better than I could have imagined. The cake was delicious. Our pictures and video were perfect. Our officiant was wonderful. The coordinator onsite was helpful and everything ran very smoothly. I couldn't recommend this company more.
