What a beautiful store and museum. The sculptures and the information on this great collection make this a "must do" stop!

Beautiful art, jewelry, woodcarvings, some items are for sale and some on display, there are many exquisite rare pieces in the store and the sales staff are very knowledgeable - more like museum docents. Very much worth taking the time to learn and understand the cultural significance of the statues, art, paddles and maps. Outside there are some benches and tables to relax and take in the beautiful trees and more exhibits. I learned a lot, and really enjoyed the store & exhibits. In the garden the volcanic steppingstones were beautiful.

This store is lua 'ole on Kaua'i, offering nothing but Hawai'ian, Polynesian, and Pacific Island art and artifacts. I love coming in here to ogle the exceptionally crafted and beautifully-made items. Everything is spectacular and maika'i. Most of the inventory is pretty pipi'i, but there are a few more affordable items if you really do your browsing. The last visit we bought a wonderful, hand-strung lei with hand-polished kukui painted with silver honu, Ni'ihau kahelelani, and fragrant maile which we framed and hung in our entryway to remind us of the spirit of the islands, even in the dead of a DC winter. It was relatively inexpensive, and a gorgeous souvenir -- a lei that will last forever. This year we picked up a delicate woven honu ornament with a puka for its shell -- a handmade, $8 purchase that will add Aloha to our tree every year. What I really wanted was a traditional hardwood eye-gouger (what girl wouldn't, really?), but it was prohibitively expensive (and for such a *small* eye-gouger...) much like a lot of Havaiki's products. Everything in here is nani and covet-worthy. I had my eye on a palm-fiber kupe'e with a vanilla bean woven into it, the scent of which the shop owner swore would never fade. But you could literally turn around 1,000 times in Havaiki and see something you desired at every turn. An awesome stop on any Kaua'ian vacation.

I was drawn to this store on my last trip to Kauai...how can you not stop in here? It's just a short cab ride from Princeville to Hanalei, across from the Ching Young shopping plaza. Many items in here are expensive but amazing to look at. It's like getting a history lesson when you walk in here, no tour bus needed. The details and selection of unique goods are very well presented. The owners are helpful and explain what each item represents. I would like to own something from here one day but all I bought was this conversation-starter tote bag (in my price range). It ended up being a nice souvenir because it will remind me to visit this store again soon.

Our favorite shop on Hanalei. Beautiful wood carvings for every price range. There a so few beautiful local shops like this. A great place to get a treasure to take home as a memory of your visit.

Some of the items there are museum quality so it is really cool to be up close and to read the descriptions.

You can also add tasty syrups or grab refreshing drinks to go. One thing to note - if you paid for a park shuttle, be aware that it most likely won't stop here. It's much easier to come by your own car if you can. Definetely recommend this place!

It's basically a small art gallery + cozy coffee spot in one, and the vibe is exactly what you want when your legs are cooked and you just need something simple and warm. Lots of island-style artwork around, chill music, and that "slow Kauai afternoon" feeling. Coffee was solid. I ordered a Vanilla Chai Latte, my wife got a Green Matcha Latte, and the total came out to $13.68 -- pretty normal price for anyone who's lived in California, but honestly it felt worth it because the place has character. The best part though? The barista. Super kind, no attitude, just friendly energy like she actually enjoys being there. Small thing, but it changes the whole experience. If I had to nitpick: it's not some huge café with a crazy menu... more like a simple, small spot, so if you're expecting "full breakfast + 20 syrups + fancy pastries," this isn't that. But that's also kind of why I liked it. I'd 100% come back -- especially after anything outdoors. Coffee + art + calm vibe = perfect reset.

While my friends went into their favorite vintage shop, the Yellowfish Trading Company, I walked the grounds and just took in the magic of these mountains and surrounding valley. Lush, green, clouds, flowers - heaven! Unlike most shopping centers, Hanalei Center is comprised of separate little shops, many in historical buildings that have been refurbished. It's a mix of shops offering something for everyone: clothes, surfer gear, shoes, jewelry, chocolates, art, bars, and several restaurants. Most are locally owned and sell items that are locally produced. You must stop at Chocolate Hanalei, a tiny chocolatier that has the most amazing chocolates! All handmade and many include fruit from the region. My favorites are the dark chocolate covered mango and dark chocolate covered baby bananas. Delicious! We also stopped at the bar that was featured in Deliverence and had Mai Tais. A must stop. This shopping center is geared to tourists, and I was a tourist, so I totally enjoyed it! I loved walking from shop to shop, appreciating all the flowers and foliage along the way. Sampling food and drinks, buying treasures, it is so quaint and charming!
