Mom & pop store, nice enough owners but the consistency of the quality of the food is hit or miss. Nice that there's seating outside should you decide to eat there but it's right next to parking spots and customers frequently leave their vehicles running so be ready to inhale exhaust gases if you do eat outside. Keith's have some of the best boiled seafood that I have had around here in Slidell as well as the New Orleans area. Seasoning is on point and that also goes for the turkey necks, potatoes, sausage and corn ( thou the corn is a little too hot for me). Their fried foods and sandwiches are to die for. My favorite is the half shrimp and half fish plate and don't think you won't have enough food because they give you enough that you can share with someone (maybe I shouldn't say that but hey I'm speaking truth). Our meal was superb. I must admit that I was a tad skeptical when we pulled into the parking lot. Wasn't impressed inside either. However, the shrimp poboy was the very best I have ever eaten. My husband ordered the combination platter...fried oysters and fried shrimp...and it was fantastic. The owner insisted we taste a free sample of her gumbo...and guess what we are taking home for dinner? Everything was unbelievably fresh. Before we left locals started pouring in. We were looking for a hole-in-the-wall Cajun seafood joint, but this didn't exactly deliver. It was a weird mix of a convenience seafood store who would also fry food, and also had Chinese food and fried chicken. I hate to pan any restaurant because it is a tough business. But, here goes... This place is a dive, not that there is anything wrong with a dive eatery. In fact they are my first choices most times (with GOOD Yelp reviews) . But if you serve food from a really low quality structure, you have used up some star power. The food, price, and service MUST be near perfect or your review will suffer. I ordered the seafood gumbo with rice and red beans and rice. My lovely bride ordered a grilled fish sandwich on a burger bun rather than on a 12' po boy roll (there was an option for toast). She also ordered red beans and rice. The order taker was kind and took an accurate order. She called back to the cook in what was probably Vietnamese requesting the fish sandwich. Then other loud conversation and laughing between the two took place. She then scooped our rice and beans and gumbo from a steam table in front of us. The food on the steam table looked okay and seemed fresh enough. The containers were pint sized round clear plastic ones with lids. Perfect for "to go" orders. The place seemed more like a fish market than a place to eat. There were a few tables for those that needed to gobble down their orders but it did not look inviting or comfortable. There are pick nick tables out front but this place is on a busy highway with no barriers from traffic noise. There was a bit of banter between the workers and since I don't speak their language I felt like an outsider. There was a TV with local news in english but it was turned up a bit too loud. My wife and I easily discussed our plans to take our orders back to our RV. The food we ordered traveled just fine for the short 10 minute drive. Once back in the rig, we un-sacked our orders. The food tasted okay. It was hot enough (temp) even after the drive and the seasoning tasted okay. The fish sandwich was a little on the salty side for my wife. I thought it was good but not great. The red beans and rice were good but again, not out of this world. The gumbo was good...actually it was very good. Good seasonings, lots of (I mean packed) fish, chicken, shrimp and sausage. The roux was deep in color tasted very good. Unfortunately, I just can't make this place one of my "good" recommendations. There are better places to eat in the area. The total cost was $25. For that, we probably could have eaten at Copeland's. We did have a container of rice and beans leftover for a later lunch which is a plus. The food is better than average but the total experience fell short. If you are planning to "take-out" you will get a little better than average tasting meal. read more

It's not much to look at, but it is clean and the covered parking was a nice surprise in the deluge we were experiencing. There were lots of choices, but we settled for 2 shrimp po boys and a small gumbo. The gumbo served over rice was easily enough for both of us to have a nice sized bowl and it was amazing! Flavorful and full of shrimp, chicken and sausage. The po boys were about the best I've ever had. Crusty bread, an outrageous number of perfectly fried shrimp and all the fixins. The sandwiches were huge and became supper as well as lunch. So glad we detoured off the interstate for this delicious lunch stop, and we'll do it again. read more

My sister and I went here to get some crawdads/crawfish and crabs . I'm not sure why or what they did to these two of my favorite or why everything seemed cooked in the same oily seasoning ?? The crawfish tasted like they were not purged so muddy taste on/in them!! The crab made us sick just smelling them !!! They were old and had gray meat throughout them!!!! I was looking for a quick place to grab lunch as I traveling towards my tour in the afternoon and this place popped up. I ended up ordering the crawfish pie and the softshell crab po boy. Both were pretty good but I wish I got some other else aside from the softshell crab po boy because this one was not overstuffed which I guess is to be expected. I was so wrong! It was way overcooked. The shrimp were difficult to peel and like mush in the middle. My husband ordered the fried shrimp platter. The salad was boring (only lettuce with two pieces of tomato). BuT, his fried shrimp was outstanding! They were big, tasty shrimp with a very nice batter and fry. This is a small mom and pop shop. The crawfish were bold and flavorful, they also have po boys, oysters and many other menu items. If you haven't been here before there is a small dining area with about 3 tables and picnic tables out front. $3.99 per lb for boiled crawfish $2.99 for live. The shrimp was very tasty and flavorful. They do have royal reds but you have to buy them raw for cooking at home. I will be back for sure when I am back this way to try out the other menu items. The staff were very down to earth and friendly. Before I sat at one of the three tables the guy behind the counter came to spray and clean my already clean table.
