Honda Service pricing is too high, Miscellaneous charges on the invoice and now they add on a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. After being encouraged to contact General Manager Robert Lee to discuss my concerns, I did so in the hope that he would genuinely investigate what happened and help reach a fair resolution. Unfortunately, I remain disappointed with the outcome. I sold my leased 2024 Honda HR-V to Heritage Honda Westminster for $17,044, with $16,544 going toward the lease payoff and only $500 paid to me. Before agreeing to the transaction, I specifically asked the salesperson what the vehicle would likely sell for and was told approximately $18,000-$19,000. I later discovered that the dealership advertised my vehicle for $25,995. When I raised my concerns, Mr. Lee stated that the dealership spent approximately $1,900 on reconditioning, plus $170 for detailing and photography. What I find difficult to understand is that this was a vehicle that had been serviced and inspected by the same dealership less than two months before they acquired it. The dealership's own service records documented that 25 inspection items passed. I would have expected a more detailed explanation of the work that supposedly justified those reconditioning expenses, rather than simply being given a dollar amount. Mr. Lee also explained that the vehicle ultimately sold for thousands of dollars less than its advertised price. However, neither the eventual selling price nor the reconditioning expenses answer my original question: Why was I told the vehicle would likely sell for $18,000-$19,000, and how was the $17,044 purchase price determined? I understand that dealerships have expenses and are entitled to make a profit. I am not claiming that I was entitled to the advertised retail price. My concern is whether I was given an accurate understanding of my vehicle's value before agreeing to sell it. I gave the general manager an opportunity to investigate and address my concerns, but I still have not received the specific appraisal or a satisfactory explanation of the valuation. Repeating the figures on paperwork I signed does not address my concern about the information I was given before signing. This experience has left me feeling that transparency and customer trust were not given the attention they deserved. I encourage anyone considering selling or trading a vehicle here to obtain independent valuations, compare offers, and ask for the dealership's appraisal in writing before agreeing to a price.
