The first one we bought was not in…read moregood working order, which BetterBuilt advised us of before installing it, so we're thankful for that. They seem to have done a good job with the install of the second transmission, however they changed the price on us repeatedly and we feel taken advantage of. We were originally quoted $400 for the job (it's an F-150... not something that should be hard to quote) and once we payed to get it there, were told it was going to be more complicated and cost an additional $175 (what!!?). The shop eventually agreed to split the difference when we told them were going to take it to the junk yard since we didn't plan for, and couldn't afford, an increase in price by that much. THEN at pickup they charged us an extra $15 for 4 bolts they needed to add... seriously? And the icing on the cake... obviously most people work and can't get to the shop during business hours for pickup, and they wanted to charge us an extra $25 to pay over the phone - a service that is typically FREE at auto shop. We will NEVER use them again and will NEVER recommend them for these reasons... cheating us out of extra money is shady and poor business practice.

I brought the car back to Bob Ruth Ford and they removed the tint and did what was needed to the exhaust so it would pass MD state inspection. When I brought the car back to Caples Car Care, they failed the inspection and told me that Bob Ruth Ford did an inadequate repair, and I would have to pay them to fix the issue or would have to pay another fee to re inspect the work if I took the car somewhere else. I had them give me the car back and I took the car to another approved MD inspection station this morning and it passed. I feel verry taken advantage of by Caples car care!!!!!!

They replaced the front control arms and tires but did not perform an alignment afterward. Both Nissan and the part manufacturer state an alignment is required after control arm replacement. As a result, my brand new tires began balding almost immediately and the vehicle felt unsafe to drive, pulling hard and sliding as if on ice. When I returned, they wanted to charge a diagnostic fee just to look at a problem caused by their own work. A second shop confirmed the alignment was severely off and stated the vehicle was not safe to drive. I faced additional repair and tire replacement costs due to their failure to follow basic repair procedures. I would not recommend this shop

I also said that my steering wasn't affected by the vibrating, but something was off with the riding performance. I was told that most likely my wheels became unbalanced from having ice in the wheels. I was told to park in my garage and use a space heater to try and fix the problem. The advice worked and it was offered free of charge because the employee said, "I'd hate to charge you for inspecting the car since I am confident this will work since I experienced the same thing before". I was told that if my car was still vibrating after trying the method mentioned then I could bring my car back and they would look for other problems. I have been coming to Nelsons for over 30 years and although the shop has changed hands, I still feel confident in trusting my repairs and service to the new owners and if I live another 30 years, then they would be the place I brought my cars to.
