First time coming here for a tire replacement and so far, not bad. Came in earlier than my appointment and already they start working on my tire. Being a state inspector for md they were very quick and very responsive to my need for tire replacement the mechanic were very knowledgeable and understanding with time restrictions due to my job line I would recommend to all my friends and family in the area! They even saved one of my old tires (the best one with tread) to put on my spare tire rim for just 15 dollars! Very reasonable pricing and very accommodating!! 10 out of 10 read more

I've always loved this place. I do feel like I've spent more money in the 2 years or so than before but my car is also getting older - all the negative reviews have me a little spooked if I'm being honest. I usually feel they are being honest with me, they take the time to show me what's wrong with the car so that I can make an educated decision on whether to spend the money or not. They've also done some work without charging me and spent hours diagnosing some unique issues with no charge as well. read more

In follow up of my previous review...I came here to get a Maryland Inspection. They gave me a list of items that had to be done before they would pass the car. I took my car to a different shop (unknown to me previous to this experience). They inspected the car an told me none of the work that Firestone told me had to be done was needed to pass my care. Left my car to get all new tires and when I returned they had not even started to work on it. Was pretty disappointed they had not called me. The service guy agreed to get me in at 7 the next day. Use extreme caution at Firestone at Westminste, MD. We have been customers of Firestone for years and switched to Westminster when we moved. Well they damaged, and got deep scratches on the side and rear of my SUV. They ignored emails, phone calls and have not committed to fixing our SUV at all. Damaged occurred on August 28th, manager swore it would be taken care of. They lied! Firestone lost great customers, and our son even used to work for Firestone too! If you can take your vehicles else where so they be handled with care, and stand behind their customer. read more

In the past 6 months or so, this shop has shifted from our favorite auto care place to our WORST. My husband and I took both of our cars in to Firestone yesterday (Saturday), and paid big money for brand new tires after our fusion tires (*cough cough* recommended by staff as the best of the best 80,000 miles tires on the market) didn't last past 30,000 miles. Spent a thousand dollars on all 4 tires and still had the other vehicle's expenses to deal with..... The other vehicle needed a routine oil change and alignment, first of all. In addition to that, I asked for them to check my wiper blade connections because I had suspected the right bar to be broken and needed to be fixed. They proceeded to tell me that my recently replaced wiper blades were just streaky. This was not what I asked them to do...... (they didn't even check the arm connections like I asked them to check!!!!) I also asked them to look at my coolant hoses etc. to make sure they were not leaky because my check engine light sporadically has been turning on and off. They offered a diagnostic for $99 that I graciously declined (since last time, they diagnosed another issue incorrectly yet still charged me $99 to do so). After their services were done, they told me I needed a whole new water pump and it was leaking coolant everywhere. I agreed to get it fixed for approximately another thousand dollars (expensive due to the extensive labor that needed to be put in)... They proceeded saying they had to order the part and they would have it first thing the next day (Sunday morning) in order to get it fixed, so I left my debilitated car at their shop overnight. They told me they'd call me on Sunday to update me. Sunday at 1:30pm---- NO CALL. So I had to call them. Unacceptable. According to whoever answered the phone Firestone was APPARENTLY sent the wrong part, knew this when it got there first thing in the morning because they had to reorder the correct part, and failed to call me to tell me that my car wouldn't even be STARTED until the next day (MONDAY morning) IF they got the right part sent to them. Wouldn't it make sense to call someone ASAP to tell them they're not going to have their car back until a whole day later than previously told? Wouldn't it make sense to tell their customer they may have to take time off of work, or figure out another way to commute to work on Monday morning.....? Wouldn't it make sense for firestone to call other dealerships in the area to try to expedite the correct part and put a rush on this car situation? Instead....They said they had no idea why anyone didn't call me to tell me or discuss anything about this with me, they offered no other solutions to alleviate the mishap, and will most likely not even call me tomorrow morning to update me on my vehicle. For someone who has spent multiple thousands of dollars at this location... I am completely disappointed with this service I have been receiving and am considering moving my auto care needs to somewhere else who CAN take care of their customers. read more

Very disappointed. My car was leaking gas. I think the guy was trying to be funny, but it didn't come off right and I left feeling uncomfortable. They quoted me for $860 to fix the problem and said it wouldn't be ready for another two days. This didn't feel right to me so I brought my car to Caples. Caples did the exact same work and fixed my car within a day for $387. I will not return to Firestone again. read more

My son just took his Jeep Wrangler in today to get two new front tires mounted and balanced. I told him to mark the valve stems with a silver sharpie to make sure they got replaced. Well, when they gave it back, sure enough, the silver marks were still on the stems. They never replaced the valve stems. When he showed that to the tech, he was told they did not have time, he would have to come back another day. Why bother? Forget it, they've lost his business. Took my Jeep Wrangler in because one of the cylinders was misfiring. When they inspected it, they told me the engine was a v4 and that they couldn't do anything because there was no compression in the cylinder--said I needed to take it to an engine shop. Told me it would be a very expensive repair, or might possibly require a new engine. First, the engine clearly says v6 on the dust cover, and my 6 year old niece could count the spark plugs and tell you there are 6. Second, the second mechanic checked it out and discovered that a spring was bad and was causing the engine to misfire. Whole process plus replacement took about 2 hours, and cost $180. If you want someone who knows what they're doing, DO NOT go to this store. I wish I could give a 0 star rating. read more

Got an alignment done there and they said it was good. They didn't tell me anything was wrong with it. The next week I went back for a MD inspection and they said it would need an alignment and steering parts were bad. When I got home I called them and they said it needed a camber bolt in order to get the alignment right. Would not recommend. They only want your money read more

With an appointment, it took almost 3 hours just to fix a flat because the guy put our work order in the envelop that was for overnight work. No apology. They don't care about your time. read more

My car was lossing air in the middle of summer so I suspect that there might be a nail there. So I made an early appointment with Firestone at the Westminster, MD location and I decided to drop my car the night before because my appointment was scheduled next morning at 7AM my appointment was their first appointment of the day as they open at 7AM. I arrived at 8AM, an hour later, and they have not looked my car. I asked why and that is when they told me they are just pulling my car in. This is an hour later from my appointment time slot. I asked why hasn't anyone loon at my car when I had the time booked at 7AM. Their excuse was that they thought my drop off was for today (when I clearly dropped it off the night before). When I stated that my appointment time was at 7AM, not when I arrive at 8AM-an hour later. They had the made of my car in their computer system, my car was parked outside of their parking lot all night and they can see it through their window, they had my car key since I dropped it the night before, and my appointment time was clearly booked in their system. Yet no one cares to fulfill that appointment. They did not have an response, the only thing they told me was the key is sitting in another area of the shop so they did not know. I told them that I had an appointment so there is a time slot scheduled and the made of the car was in their computer system, so why isn't noone looking into it until I arrive-an hour later. They did not have any answer for me and took it very personally when I said that they did not have respect for their clients' time. I had to clarify that when they are wearing the Firestone shirt and stand behind that desk in the shop, they represent the company and its brand. After my explanation, they were very non-chalant about it. If I had an option, this is not the place I would bring my car for repair. If there is a zero star to give I would have given it. They do not deserve this 1 star. read more

First visit there today with a leaky tire. While they couldn't fit me in right away, they were honest about it, so I scheduled an appointment & came back an hour or 2 later. They were short staffed but still made my appointment work. Staff (Brian) was super friendly, knowledgeable & knew that customer service is really where it's at. I've been to the competition here in town & have really not felt that they were being honest or even friendly with me. I will definitely revisit this location when in need of automotive care. After being a long time customer of Firestone in Westminster, I will not be coming back ever again. The management has changed and I have had several bad experiences this past year. I got a new battery and because it was not installed properly (a wire was not connected), it drained and left me stranded in the rain with a car full of groceries. I priced out a repair on an electric window and was told that I must use VW parts because after market parts would not work with the computer. This is totally not true because I have now gotten the window fixed at half the price quoted by Firestone and using after market prices. I had an appointment scheduled for a tune up and was told that it would take two hours. Instead, it took four and a half hours and I was told that this was because I had left and was not waiting. Why bother to make an appointment then? I have spent a great deal of money at Firestone over the years but will not return again. Imagine they have only 1 1/2 stars. This place is a rip off and after my breaks were done I have nearly been in an accident and ran off the road because the brakes are not functioning properly. They over charged and lied to me about the reason. I just did the rear brakes myself after my $1000 brake job. Did the rears for $130 in parts. Still need to take apart the front and see what these "liars " did. I don't think they did a good job of bleeding the brake lines. Do not go to this business. Also they told me they were going to replace their defective firestone tires that I had them replace a first time for $250. Turned out it was $250 a tire this was my second replacement of defective firestone tires. Tires were pealing away from the rim. Cause me to have a blow out on 495 3 lanes in. Again almost caused an accident. So two near accidents later and running off the road. If you value you and your families safety, DO Not go to this place for work. read more

Went in for new tires and alignment and after a hour got a call my 2012 Jeep Patriot needed new tie rods new brakes and a wheel bearing. Cost went from 554$. To over 1700$! I told them I would be in to get it just do the tires. Manager Sergio said the had already did the bearing and that was 300$. Took the jeep into the dealership first thing the next day and absolutely nothing wrong with the tie rods and brakes were still at 50%. Called Sergio back and he was babbling on about how the dealership was wrong. Yes I'm sure the dealership who makes the cars are wrong but your half ass rip off mechanics are right. I'm now filing a complaint with Firestone about this center and I suggest no one go there unless you love to be ripped off! read more

These thieving bastards changed the oil in my wife's Honda, and they told her that she needed new rear brake pads and rotors. They said the brakes were down to metal-on-metal, yet there was no squealing to be heard. A trip to the Honda dealer revealed that the car DID NOT need brake pads or rotors!
