Anything beyond a simple oil change, I'd beware. I took my car here because they were an approved Carmax location. Not only did they never fix the original issue, but they also tried to overcharge me out of their convenience. My warranty was covering all but deductible. They didn't want their parts so they tried to charge me for them but then "ate the cost" when I pushed back. The original issue never actually got fixed even after taking it back 3 times for them to try and find the issue. They messed up putting my windshield wipers on during repair so they won't go the entire way up anymore. They did an oil change but never topped off any of the fluids. After all that.. the car still wasn't fixed either. It's now being repaired elsewhere. The mechanic was super nice, but truly wouldn't trust them with my car ever again. One of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a garage. read more

Just had my car inspected here today and could not be more pleased with their service. I called and Bobby, the owner, and he said to come on in as they had time. He mentioned that the day before was busy. They got me right in and the entire process took less than 30 minutes. The place was clean and well stocked with water an coffee. Recently my muffler mount broke and the muffler was hanging down, the muffler was loud from the hole, I needed an oil change, and an inspection. So I reached out to Precision Tune in Hanover. They have been my go-to shop for a few years. I called to make an appointment for later in the week and they said to bring it in the next day. When I got there they didn't have an appointment for me. No one bothered to pencil me in. So I start over with what I need, leave the car, and get a call the next day with the estimate. There was no muffler in the estimate, just a muffler mount. Turns out, they never looked at my car before making the estimate. I mean, they couldn't have even started it! It was that obvious. After a few back and forth calls and emails (some of them were my fault for not printing a current insurance card) they finally got the estimate right. The work was performed and I picked it up later that same day. Now for the problems: No appointment made when I called ahead. They said my car wouldn't pass inspection unless I replaced two tires. No tires were available for me to look at and inspect myself. The whole false estimate thing with the muffler. And I mean, MAYBE the tires. So anyway, today. This woman calls and asks how my car was! I said fine. She said, "So you're happy with you're service!". To which I replied no and I will never be back again. I asked her if she wanted to know why and she said no and for me to have a nice day. Avoid this place like the plague. Wait after the pandemic we're not smart enough to avoid the plague just avoid this place. read more

Snake oil salesman. Went for routine oil change knowing car leaking oil. The did not identify bad valve cover seal, or that oil pan and valve cover gaskets need replacing. Instead made fake repair claims. Said cabin filters needed replacing, even though they were replaced 6 months earlier. Said CV axle shaft needed replacing; claimed throwing grease under engine. Checked with regular mechanic the next day who said no issue. The also recommended 4 wheel alignment and marked that all 4 tires needed Future service, instead of Good condition even though alignment completed 3 months earlier when all 4 tires were replaced; tires had less than 1000 miles use. read more

This place is a POOR rating!!! We had our vehicle in to be checked out for smoking coming from exhaust and possible oil leak.... we dropped it off on a thursday evening get a call the following day saying they needed to replace a oil seperator, pvc valve, valve cover gasket..... they never took vehicle for a road test. We picked it up the following wednesday while driving down the road the smoke was that bad i was behind my husband and could not see. I called in the very next day telling them there was still a ton of smoke. I was instructed to continue to drive it that sunday ONLY 4 days after we left this garage my husband gets pulled over and cop told him the car had to be parked and towed because it could cause an accident with all the smoke. We got it towed to a different garage and they told us it was BOTH turbos and the inner cooler needed replaced. I called and spoke to manager, district manager, head service tech was told they supposedly followed a service bullentin and they replaced what they should have. DO NOT TAKE your vehicle there!!!! They asked why did you not get it towed back here. WHY would we even think about taking it somewhere that didn't fix it the 1st time!! We are out of the $$ we paid!! And again they don't want to do anything and believe me they lost multiple customers!!!! read more

I like the service that they give here. My brother recommended them to me, because he uses them for his cars. They tell what is wrong when you come in for an oil change, and do not push you to buy other products like the other dealerships in the area do. They are honest and do good work, and I certainly do appreciate that from them. read more

Went there because they had a coupon for an inspection. Claimed car wouldn't pass inspection because ball joints were bad. I took to another shop, they said ball joints were fine and it passed inspection. Also had premium oil change with tire rotation. They claimed oil pan drain bolt was stripped and charged for a new one, when I got home 1 tire looked low, so I checked the air pressure, and the 1 tire was good, the 3 others were over inflated by 10 - 12 psi. Stay away from this place, shoddy work, and dishonest. read more

I brought my Toyota Corolla there to have its front passenger wheel bearing replaced. For quite some time, I went to the Severna Park Precision Tune under the management of a person called Lane who was excellent. Unfortunately, Lane got promoted and they brought a new manager called Wayne. The Severna Park Precision Tune replaced all four of the wheel bearings on my Corolla. Loud noise was still generated from the car shortly after having them replaced and I brought it in and they indicated it was my tires and not to worry (this was while under the two year warranty). I came back again after multiple recommendations from other mechanics indicating it was faulty wheel bearings. This time they replaced them after I fought tooth and nail with the regional manager named Gene (as now I was conveniently out of warranty by a couple months). During the second wheel bearing replacement, they bent the heat shield surrounding the break rotors. I left and had to drive back because of the intense scraping. I missed work the following day because of it. They attempted to bend it back but they failed to do so. I brought it to a Goodyear as I recently moved to York PA. The Goodyear fixed the bent heat shield (for free) and also indicated that my front passenger side wheel bearing needed to be replaced again. I called and complained to Gene again and this time I went to the Hanover location. I left with the car continuing to make the noise and they indicated again it was the tires (They sold me the tires which they subsequently claimed are cheap although they were a good brand two years prior). Gene said he looked at the car himself and would have recommended it to his family. Less than 7K miles later, the car is incredibly loud and has begun to shake intensely at high speeds. I brought it back to the Goodyear I went to previously and they indicated that the front wheel bearing was out. I am paying them to replace it and will be pursuing getting a refund from Precision Tune and weighing my legal options if a refund is not granted. Wheel bearings can become very dangerous and the Goodyear indicated that potentially because of Precision Tune's poor service, the hubs may have been worn, which are quite expensive (two or three hundred bucks depending on the brand per wheel). If the hubs wear enough, it can grind against the axel and essentially ruin your car. I would avoid this chain at all cost. The prices are cheap for a reason and it is because the technicians lack the knowledge to accomplish any complicated tasks of an aging car. I would not venture beyond an oil change at these mechanics. read more
