My husband and I have been coming to Dr Kodama for at least 15 years and this is the best dentist's office we have ever been to. First, we get excellent care from the hygienists, Cheryl and Darlene, and Dr Kodama himself. When my husband needed a specialist, not only did Dr Kodama refer a great one but he went the extra mile to discuss the particulars that my husband needed and got her to do it in the best way for the patient (my husband) versus the doctor (herself). Dr Kodama always answers my questions graciously even if they may be silly to him. And to repeat what I read below it is true he never upsells - if you ask he gives you options and the pros and cons of each (like do I really need to get braces at my age?). Diana at the front desk always knows who you are when you walk in, greets you by name, remembers the particulars of how you like to schedule, and gives you a reminder call! Together, they all create a very pleasant, comfortable atmosphere not typical in a dentists office. And due to the location parking is never an issue either. I've been coming to Dr. Kodama for several years now and I really appreciate his service. Don't be fooled by the office's nondescript location. He does a thorough job cleaning and checking up on his patients, ensuring comfort. I appreciate his honest, upfront assessments, unlike a lot of medical professionals who overcharge or try to scam patients. This office is trustworthy. I had some issues with my previous dentist. I got recommendations from a few of my coworkers and decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Kodama. Their staffs were nice and helpful; I explained to Diana my concern and issue and sent them some x ray I got from my previous dentist and we discussed on the phone and made an in person appointment. They followed all the covid rules; they checked temp and asked all the covid questions and masks are required while not in the appt. Doctor carefully looked at all the x ray and checked my teeth and told me what really the problems were not like my previous dentist just recommended me to do 6-7 crowns for nothing. I wanted to find a new dentist so I looked up on Cigna the closest dentists to me that accepted PPO. Since this dental office was one of the closest ones to me, I decided to give it a try. The woman in the front Diana was super nice over the phone as well as in person. I loved how quick she was when taking X-rays of my teeth since I hate those things they put in your mouth to take the X-rays. The dentist Keith Kodama was also very sweet and gentle when cleaning my teeth. I was also glad that they didn't try to up-sale me on things I didn't need like the previous dental office I went to.. I really like the whole staff at Dr. Kodama's office. Diana, the officer manager, is super-organized and gives you a call to remind you about your appointment. Cheryl, the dental hygienist, is super-nice and does an awesome job on cleaning. My teeth and gums feel great afterwards. Dr. Kodama is awesome! He's very nice and goes over everything with you. I just had 3 fillings put in yesterday morning. I let 7 years go by between visits and it was not an experience I was looking forward to. The staff here are so friendly and have worked together for many years. Their light hearted demeanor put me at ease. I felt no pain from the shots or the procedure. It's taken me 4 years to work up the courage to go back to the dentist. I was tired of having someone mess with my mouth constantly (and my teeth are not horrible). I felt like my last dentist was always finding reasons to have me come back once a month... I found Dr. Kodama and liked the reviews I read about him. Dr. Kodama has such a calm demeanor that his calming energy puts you at ease. He is patient and focused on you at all times. He is truthful and doesn't overcharge you for any unnecessary work. I've been told from other dentists that I'd need to have scaling done. I didn't hear that from Dr. Kodama. He was the one who did my cleaning as well. He could have been like my last dentist who told me I need to have it done at $125 per quadrant. Um, no... That was 4 years ago and the last time I went to the dentist. Dr. Kodama put in a temporary crown yesterday and it all went so smoothly that I was actually relaxed during the procedure. I even had my earbuds in hand, ready for us if I felt any anxiety. I didn't have to use it. He's so good, I made an appointment for my husband when I was leaving. I've read other reviews that said his office is old and outdated, but that should not be a reason to bypass this wonderful dentist who does a fantastic job. Truthfully, it's not bad either. I'm glad I chose him. His staff has been with him for a long time (14 or more years) and they are awesome. The fact that they have been there a long time says a lot about Dr. Kodama's character. What a great dentist. The whole staff is so friendly and the doctor was extremely nice and explained things they way I can understand them. I hate going to the dentist but this wasn't bad at all. Kathy did my deep cleaning, it didn't hurt at all. No pushy sales tactics trying to get me to commit to services I didn't need and I really appreciate that. The area is a bit crowded because of the Stater Bros. That is my only complaint. read more

Great dentist and staff! I avoided going to a dentist for years because I kept running across shady dentist offices who were not upfront about costs and did unnecessary dental work. I was recommended to go here and so far I love this place! Dr. Kodama is such a sweet man who takes his time to care for you and your teeth. He takes the time to explain everything. The staff are just as pleasant. In a conversation about what he would do if he won big in the lottery, Dr. Kodama mentioned he would probably do dentistry work for poor children. I agree with the previous poster. I've only been to Dr. Kodama once but his staff was super friendly and he was very nice too. Also, they don't overcharge you!!! Dentists don't seem to be regulated so everytime I go, despite having good dental insurance, I end up paying at least $100 for basic cleaning, exam, etc. Not here, if I paid anything, it was $10 for a co-pay. Recommended by a friend and her family has been going here for years. Definitely has a "family dentist" feel, where they remember you each time you go in. I did 4 stars instead of 5 stars just because the office is a little dated but I still think he gives excellent care. read more

You can stop looking right now. I used to be super paranoid and fearful regarding dentists. Dr. Kodama is Georgetown University trained, with at least 20 years experience. Previously, I would have to take a tranquilizer before visits. I am not kidding. The last time I visited, it was for a cleaning and I literally fell asleep during the procedure - drug free! Over the years, I have had three crowns put in, all with no problems. When my insurance company acted up, the staff worked for me (a great time/energy saver) to get any issues resolved. After about 12 years of service, I can't say enough positive about Keith and his staff. I am never left waiting for an appointment. I'm never given a b.s. diagnostic and upsell. They know me by name. The sales specialist comes in right after you take your x-rays and pushes a half dozen services on you, often using scare tactics or enticing you with flexible financing. And when you decline everything that isn't absolutely necessary, they give you a half-assed cleaning and send you on your way with a smirk. Thankfully, there are still a few dentists like Dr. Koama who take pride in their profession. His credentials are impeccable and his "bedside manner" truly calms anxiety and inspires confidence.
