Tyler, of Keeping it Green Irrigation, arrived on time and quickly activated the lawn sprinkler system in my newly purchased house. I didn't think the system would work in this older house but he showed me that it does and it is now running for the summer. Tyler adjusted the sprinklers , the number of days each week that the system goes on and the watering time for each station. All this for a very reasonable price. Jaclyn was great getting the ball rolling and setting up my estimate, then Mike and his crew took over after we agreed on a great price. Mike was just super proffesional and explained everything they were going to do and the equipment and parts that were going to be used (no other services explained this in detail like Mike did). The work was exceptional, setup 6 zones in a matter of about 8 hours, cleaned everything up that it looked like the lawn was not even touched. Setup the controller with timer schedule and showed how to use the phone app to control everything. If you are interested in a sprinkler system...STOP...looking around and call Keeping It Green. I had Mike and Tyler put in my system a few years ago and it was the best decision. I shopped around but Mike was just Hey easy going, knowledgeable and price was great. Wow......let me tell you about their Awesome customer service. First, Jackie is the best at returning emails (imagine that nowadays). When was the last time someone emailed you right away or at least within a day. She sends out emails and asks times for opening and closing or any services. When they set up a time .....they actually show up. Tyler comes out to do some services and he is a real asset, just a very nice young man. Last year I had them install lighting around the outside of my house. They did a great job with my sprinklers, I trusted them enough to do my lighting and have been very impressed with them. I had a few issues with a couple of lights do to my landscapers and they came out right away and corrected the issue. When most companies do just the minimum , these folks go the extra mile. You owe it to yourself to call them and talk with them.............. You will be glad you did. read more

Can't say enough good things about Keeping it Green. They were great and easy to work with, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking into a new irrigation system or repairing an existing system. We recently had the whole yard landscaped and decided watering all the flowers and lawn manually was not going to cut it. They had great prices and were able to put in 10 zones without destroying anything that was already landscaped a month prior. Jackie was a pleasure to deal with in the office and Mike and Tyler did an excellent job on the install. Install took 2 days and the wifi feature on the controller allowed me to control from my phone when we went on vacation a couple of days after the system was installed! Keeping It Green serviced this historical home in Glen Ridge prior to our purchase. When we moved in two years ago, we continued service with KIG. We undertook a major landscaping project that took two full summers (including irrigation work as a significant part of the overall project). The first summer portion of the project with KIG was terrific. In early summer of year two when we had an onsite meeting with KIG and my landscape architect/GC to complete the large second half of the project we had started the year prior, KIG told my GC on the spot that they would suddenly be unable to do any projects until the following spring/summer a year in the future (with no prior warning!), which left us suddenly scrambling for another irrigation service to complete the large second part of the landscaping job which we could not wait a full year to do. The fact that KIG would be unable to do our large project the second summer was well known to them in advance of the onsite meeting with my GC, but there was no advance communication at all, nor was there any attempt or offer by KIG to suggest another firm to take over this large job on their behalf while they were not available. When you make no contingency efforts whatsoever with other irrigation experts or services to pick up your slack on large projects and you leave your long-term clients to scramble at the last moment, then you're not a service I can count on. read more

Keeping It Green installed a new sprinkler system on my property this summer and I could not have been happier with the service they provided. They were responsive, communicated well, showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would do (and it didn't even look like they installed a sprinkler system when they were done with their machine that installed the piping under the grass and they also put all the mulch back as if nothing was ever done) and explained everything as I needed. They also installed piping based on the expansion I said we would likely need on our property in the future. Additionally, I really liked their commitment to the environment and supporting charities to that end with portions of the fees they get from what I paid for the install. Also, they came back promptly when I needed to add heads to the system. It was an absolute pleasure working with Keeping It Green and I highly, highly recommend them for any of your needs. read more

I met with Mike and Jackie at the 2014 Denville Street Fair. I've always wanted to add a sprinkler system to my lawn, as I was tired of having my front lawn burn in the summer if I couldn't water it every day using a hose. I gave them my info and scheduled an estimate which was much less expensive than I thought. I always thought that installing a sprinkler system would cost tens of thousands of dollars due to all of the plumbing work needed for the lines, but was pleasantly surprised to learn it was far less than that . They also came in cheaper than other estimates we we received. After discussing it with my wife, we agreed to go with Keeping it Green and were very pleased with our decision. We were also pleased that they did the right thing and applied for the appropriate permits through our town. (unlike other less scrupulous contractors who say you don't need a permit) On the day our install was scheduled, one of their helpers had an issue with his ankle on a previous job, so the owner Mike proceeded to install the entire system by himself on the hottest and most humid day of the summer (so far) without complaint. I was very pleased by his great work ethic, even with all of the rocks in my soil. He started at 8 AM , took a 30 minute lunch break and stayed until the job was done at 7:30 P.M. His plumber came by at around 1:30 to make the connection to my water line. Even after the long day, Mike spent as much time with me as I needed to show me how to operate the controller, where the heads were - and even changed a few misters out when I wanted a little more coverage in my side yard. I never felt as if he was rushing me at all. I was very, very impressed. So now it's been about 3 weeks since my install and my sprinklers are running great. I had a minor issue a few days in where the connection that the plumber made to my cold water line developed a tiny leak, but they called the plumber back to fix it at no charge. I would highlight recommend Keeping it Green to anyone considering a new sprinkler system, or someone in need of a tune up or replacement system. I'm generally not one to write reviews, however, we had such a great experience with Keeping It Green Irrigation that I felt compelled to share my thoughts. My husband and I had a sprinkler system on our wish list for quite some time. This spring we decided that we were going to do it this year and I began to research companies in the area. I came across Keeping It Green and just loved the name so I decided to email them to request an estimate. I received an immediate reply from Jackie and we set up an appointment for her husband, Mike, to come to our house and design a plan and provide us a with quote. Mike is the nicest guy, really genuine and takes his time to go over any questions/concerns. He worked up a price right then and there and gave us literature on the products he recommended. A close friend of ours is in the same business in VA so I sent him the quote to get his thoughts. He was impressed, said the price was very good and that the product choice/brands were the exact ones that he uses. We were waiting to hear back from one other "well-known" exterior property maintenance company (and that was just to have someone come out to give us a quote). My husband and I decided we would just go ahead with Mike...we both really liked him and trusted that he would do a great job. He did the installation in two days. His work is impeccable and he's completely trustworthy (we left the basement open for him to access the electric, etc.). He then made a separate trip back over the weekend to go over the system and give us detailed instructions on how the timer works. Mike's wife Jackie was also a pleasure to deal with, she's super responsive and very knowledgeable. I have nothing negative to say, which is a rarity if you ask my husband.
