The day before, I followed up and also asked if he could do some additional work. The lack of communication and last-minute change came across as unprofessional. I ended up hiring someone else and would not recommend doing business with him.

I didn't think the system would work in this older house but he showed me that it does and it is now running for the summer. I spoke with Joe, whom I presume was the owner, and he was a perfect gentleman. Part of my initial problem stemmed actually from a disconnect with our neighbor, while the other part he acknowledged and pledged to address. It's enough for me that a company values their reputation and seeks to make it right when necessary. If nothing else, this is a reason to trust the quality of Alpine and to rely on their services.
