My first visit was better as I purchase a complete spa package with a massage, make up application, light refreshments, etc. It was amazing!!! For today's visit I just chose a 30 minute deep tissue massage. I was slightly disappointed as I was actually booked for an hour massage (I know, I shouldn't be complaining!) but it was more than I had planned to spend and therefore I was not prepared with a better tip for my massage therapist. I wish I was aware of that prior to going into the session. The receptionist was not very friendly and spoke softly so she was hard to understand. It may have been her first day because she was working with another person, but I feel that she could have verified what my appointment was so that I could have confirmed prior to me getting the hour massage and thereby having to pay for the full service. Nevertheless, I was still satisfied with my service. I had Linda as my massage therapist. Initially I was worried because I'm about 5'10" and she is about 5' and I was wondering if she would be able to use enough pressure but she did not disappoint!!! Lol she was awesome and I feel so great! I would recommend her for sure. Overall Kona Oasis is a beautiful spa and I would love to come back for more services. If you're looking to treat yourself, be sure to get a full package!!

My massage therapist, Janine, was wonderful and my mom only spoke positively about her massage therapist, Hannah. I always know a massage is good when I fall asleep... and sure enough, I drifted off for a little spa nap. Mission accomplished! I also loved the quiet room and the showers afterward, which really extended the whole relaxation experience. While I've been to spas across the country with much more extravagant amenities, Woodhouse is a fantastic option for Buffalo. I felt it was very clean, calm, and exactly what you want from a quality day spa. My mom and I both left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and very happy we finally made it happen! I was taken to the back to the massage room where I undressed. I laid face down and the masseuse walked in the room shortly after. I booked a 90 minute massage. My masseuse made sure I was comfortable the entire time. He used a mix of hot stones, oils, chopping techniques, etc. There wasn't a single part of my body that didnt feel good afterwards. The 90 minute massage was $98 and I gave a 20% tip. My masseuse provided me with a bottle of water after the massage as well. I'm extremely happy with the massage and they have a new regular customer!

At this writing 30 minutes later I still feel so much better. My biggest complaint and it will influence whether I go back or not is the lack of English spoken which I don't mind except the staff spent the whole time talking among themselves basically ignoring us. Based on that price, I brought $70 in cash with me so I could leave a $15 tip. Unfortunately, the massage itself was not relaxing as I had hoped. The woman used an excessive amount of pressure and a punching-type technique that made the massage quite painful rather than relaxing. The lady also was passing gas during the massage multiple times. When I went to pay, I was told the price was actually $65. Since I had brought $70 based on the price I was quoted over the phone, I only had $5 available for a tip. When the gentleman saw the amount I was leaving, he pressured and bullied me into using the ATM to withdraw additional cash for a larger tip. I felt extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially with other customers waiting behind me. The unexpected price difference was frustrating, but being pressured to withdraw additional money for a tip was what really made this experience unpleasant. A tip should be voluntary and based on the customer's experience--not something a customer feels pressured into giving. Unfortunately, I left feeling uncomfortable rather than relaxed, and I would not return. Mind you, I'm an 18 year old girl who was bullied by this man.
