I bought two plants and potters. The selection was great and the value of items was good. I love that they support other black owned businesses as well. I was in my HAPPY place. Next time I would like to check out the cafe. Cherron the owner is so nice. They sell so much more than plants like candles, incense, shirts, jewelry, stickers, etc. from black owned vendors. I came in and was very upfront about wanting to spend a small amount for a nearly indestructable plant. The owner Jess was incredibly kind and patient despite making a minimal monetary transaction, and based on this interaction alone I will be returning for more plants down the line. The shop itself is quite twee and delightful, with a great selection of succulents and gifts that don't scream "you could get this stuff anywhere", which I appreciate.

The weekly Stitch n Bitch (Thursdays, 7-9pm) is such a welcoming environment full of passionate and friendly people where you can work on your crafts and chit chat (or get help from experienced knitters/crocheters/etc when you're stuck)!! Weekend hours so far have been 11-4 Saturday and 11-3 Sundays but there are classes you can sign up for to learn how to crochet a drink coozie, make a tote bag or throw pillow out of a band tee (or any old T-shirt), and a Halloween backpack for kids! There are also "stitch and bitch" sessions on Thursday nights from 7-9 every other Thursday where you can bring your own projects and just hang. There are few spaces out front on the street but best bet is to park in the lot across the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very receptive to my son. Sight unseen, I understood no matter the purchase each item would be sensational! This was my first time finally having the true Kellijane experience. I joined my mom at Kelly's South Philly studio and was so graciously invited in to see a combination of linens I would have never fathomed could look so beautiful together. At first glance I did not see how it would work. Yet, Kelly has this unbelievable, unparalleled eye that made me see the beauty in the contrast of colors and patterns. Kelly gave us a space for creating a beautiful bedroom scheme without pretense or pressure. She welcomed our ideas with an open ear and always offered another variation. As times are tough both mentally and financially, these purchases are not a daily occurrence. Yet, there was no question or judgment of what we could or could not afford. Kelly only wants you to love what you bring home. Her philosophy on life and how she does business is one I/we (mom) inspire to emulate. Candles, pillows, white deer antler art . . . everything from quaint French cottage to modern city digs. The one reason you should be shopping at Kellijane is sheets. If you want the best of the best, don't go to Target or even Saks. Kellijane carries thread counts you didn't even know existed. Of course, be prepared for the price tag, but how can you put a price on enjoying the 13 of your life you spend in bed?
