Scallops

Very nice place. The interior, including the rest room, is in very good shape. The service was very smooth. The food was very good as well. Check out my photo of the scallops appetizer. Very good, and presentation was gorgeous. I wasn't crazy about the fish taco appetizer, though a colleague liked them. My colleagues got the strip steak with Chimichurri and liked it a lot. I was jealous of them, as my Miso Cod (a special of the day) looked kind of boring, but it was actually very good, and so soft (and completely de-boned). My Mojito was not really an authentic one, but it had a nice, interesting flavor.

Came to Kee oyster house on a random Saturday around lunchtime without reservations and did not have to wait. There were plenty of metered street parking in White Plains. The ambiance was nice, quiet, and sophisticated. Our server was very polite and efficient at taking our orders. The food took awhile to come out, I think it might just be the vibe of this kind of upscale restaurants to give people lots of time for conversation. We got the oyster Rockefeller, which was pretty good. We also got the brie cauliflowers and seafood risotto and pork chop, everything was very good, on par with what one would expect in this kind of restaurant. I did not, however, come across anything in terms of service or food that blew me away so the 4 stars. Would love to try other signatures from Kee another time!

Grilled Salmon

Went there for a Valentine's Day dinner for the first time. We ordered the tuna tartare, baked clams, salmon, and skirt steak. The tuna tartare was disappointing--it lacked flavor and sauce, and something felt off. The baked clams were good, the salmon was decent, and the skirt steak portion was quite small for the price. Overall, the food wasn't very memorable, and none of the dishes came with sides. That said, the drinks were good and the service was attentive.

Key Lime Tart. Happy Birthday Aries! - 3/30/2024

Aries birthday celebrations continued this last Saturday evening, 30th March, at the fabulous KEE Oyster House in White Plains. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and taken care of the entire time. We began with Sonoma Saint Francis Chardonnay, with a splendid array of plump East Coast Oysters, an order of delicious Oysters Rockefeller, and hubs enjoyed his yummy New England clam chowder as he did in 2019. Entrees of: Blackened Tuna with Lime sauce, a silky Grilled Salmon Filet Beurre Blanc with pearls of Salmon Roe, and a large Caesar Salad with grilled Chicken strips. Happy Birthdays sung at dessert with an assortment of Tiramisu, Vanilla Ice Cream and Key Lime Tart. Let's make a wish! Lovely ambience + Wishing all a Hoppy Easter too! :) Thank you for reading

I haven't been here in a while pre-Covid I should say, but I had come in this restaurant opened and I have to happily say it is the first restaurant in a while that has not let me down with it standards. The service was the waiters were kind on point ready to listen explain services with a smile and of course they're exceptional food. When I say this is a place I look forward to coming to. I am not exaggerating and I am so pleased oyster special with caviar to be lobster perfectly cooked and ready to eat and my Bronzino was just New England. Clam chowder is actually one of the best I've had parking is across the street or right in front of the restaurant. Just keep a tip closed on Sundays Monday to Saturday open for lunch and dinner, but I would totally make an effort to come here..

Takeout order

Great choice for our Mothers Day takeout order! Everything was so well packaged, our raw bar was on ice, and super delicious. I only wish they would take our gift card over the phone, but otherwise excellent!

I'll start with the service. It was very exceptional and I loved how attentive they were to us. As we came in, one of the waitresses brought us to a table all the way in the corner, which was not the most appealing spot. Another waiter saw the looks on our faces and gave us another table, which was so much better. They were very kind and understanding of all the questions we had regarding the food. For the food, it was okay. Nothing special. We got the raw seafood tower and it was good, but definitely not worth the price. I would say they could've added a lot more to the tower. I got the crab cake burger, and I wasn't really impressed. It looked great, but it was really bland. I was disappointed with the meals we received because I truly was expecting better. Would I come back? No, I don't think so. But again, the service was great!

I hit this spot up specifically for a Wing Walk. The Smoked Buffalo Wings were a standout. They…read morearen't your average deep fried wing; they have a distinct, deep smoky depth. Even in the middle of a busy event, they stayed impressively crispy. The Asian Sticky Wings were also top tier. They had a thick, glossy glaze that hit the perfect balance of sweet and savory without being overly salty. Both wings were high quality and meaty, which isn't always the case during a crowded food crawl. I'd def stop by again under a diff circumstance to see the rooftop and maybe try their brunch.

Nice spot in WP. We were looking for a late brunch spot in White Plains and found that freebird…read morewas open until late. Good atmosphere with a bar scene and birds above... We were seated in a nice booth and service was good. We had some coffee which was standard fare - basically diner quality but drinkable. Some ice cold water. All good We ordered the eggs Benedict, some pancakes, and the lobster roll. I had the eggs and they were cooked well with a ham and high volume of hollandaise. I usually have the hollandaise on the side, but as a cardinal error, I had forgotten to ask them for that. The sauce was overpowering a little bit too sour for my liking, and as it turns out did not agree with me. Next time I will avoid that. The lobster roll was well received with no mayonnaise, which was great. And the pancakes were also good.

Ok, I know I should be leary of salad bars right now with all of the coronavirus fright going on…read morebut I can't resist the salad bar at La Provence in the White Plains Bloomingdales store! Usually I will get a lunch entree off of the menu which automatically comes with a small plate for the salad bar. I always really enjoy the food at the salad bar and can barely eat my meal when it comes because I am already full! On my last visit there, it was late and I knew I'd be going home to sit and eat dinner only a few hours later, so I wanted to eat lighter since I also had a long drive ahead of me. I decided to go for their salad bar option, where they give you a larger plate for the salad bar and then you can have either soup or the famous Forty Carrots froyo to compliment your meal. I think this is the way to go for me going forward. I was able to enjoy the fresh salad and foods from the salad bar that I love, with a little treat of froyo at the end (which I never end up getting when I opt for the meal because I'm usually way too stuffed). What I love about the salad bar is there is so many options for salad- usually greens, bean salad, macaroni or potato salad, and other options as well. Many dressings and toppings as usual in a salad bar, and then there's always a hot option which is usually chicken wings or meatballs. My favorite part though? The POPOVERS!! Yum! Not many places make popovers and they make me very happy in all their carby glory. I've also had their steak quesadilla, Orchard Chicken Wrap, Short Rib French Dip, which were all delicious and perfectly paired and made. Their hot chocolate is super chocolatey and sweet, it hit the spot on a cold day. My beverage of choice to accompany my meal is always the Shoppers Brew, basically the Bloomingdale's Arnold Palmer. 5/5

La Provence at Bloomingdales is a place where I would label as a "ladies' lunch" spot. There were…read moretwo gentlemen there so yes it can be a men's lunch spot too, don't want to offend anyone. They offer light fare and heavy on the salad options. I was underwhelmed with the menu they gave us so asked if they had a brunch menu which I saw one online before arriving. After a few minutes one was brought over to us which was not what I saw online but it added options. Each item was individual priced or you could make it prix fixe for $25 which included their famous frozen yogurt and a beverage. I opted for the Breakfast Balboa which I typically wouldn't order but it was the only thing "floating my boat." Much too hearty to be considered a light meal option so there is this. The Balboa was served open faced on a toasted baguette cut in half with shaved cooked roast beef, melted swiss, caramelized onions and perfectly fried sunny side eggs, one on each half of the baguette. There was supposed to be a garlic-chipotle dressing on sandwich but I think they forgot it? I am sensitive to hot seasoning although I like it so I took a chance it wouldn't be too hot. No worries because it was absent from the sandwich. The potato wedges were delicious, crispy and had nice seasoning. The lemonade was my beverage choice and I enjoyed it. It was smooth and not tart. When I called last week to make a reservation, I was told it wasn't needed for a Saturday. Good thing we went at 11:30 am because by 1:30 pm every table was taken. A good portion of the people dining were eating the frozen yogurt so it stands to reason because its so popular it must be really good? I use to frequent Forty Carrots (back in the day) which is their counter top service next to the restaurant and loved the frozen yogurt. There were three flavor options: plain (guessing plain is vanilla), chocolate and coffee. I opted for plain and that is what I got. When I inquired if it came with any toppings, I was told no so I asked if I paid extra could I get strawberries and I was obliged. The fee was nominal for a couple of strawberries cut up but that didn't add any sweetness, it was still sour/tart. I added a sugar packet to the strawberries but it didn't really help. So, what's all the hype about? My taste buds must have changed because while it was very creamy it was sour. I convinced my friend who is a yogurt hater that she would love it because that had always been my past experience. After one small taste she made a face and said, "tart." Then I tasted and agreed. I have to accept the reason I may have enjoyed it previously was because of all the toppings I use to add which likely masked the sour flavor for me. I know that totally defeats having frozen yogurt as opposed to ice cream. All and all it's not for me but from all the frozen yogurts coming out of the kitchen and being taken out at Forty Carrots I seem to be in the minority. OK spent way too much of my review on Frozen Yogurt! Peace out. BTW, check in on your Yelp app and get 20% off.
