Fast lines and will have you in and out. Techs are great with only a handful who are off occasionally.

It's located in a strip mall will plenty of parking. We had scheduled our appointments through the app a week prior and booked spots at noon. Two of us did whole blood and one did power red. We were checked in at the front desk and didn't have to wait long to get taken backs the phlebotomist I had was professional and competent during the health screening and interview process. She also did well inserting the needle and getting my donation going. It's a quick process: it only took me 6:30 minutes to donate a pint of blood. Power red takes about 40. The phlebotomists here were friendly and good at their jobs. The center itself is older and smaller than other ones but cozy. The canteen area has chairs but no tables. Lots of snacks and water bottles. The whole experience was seamless from start to finish. I would recommend everyone donate if they are physically able to! Especially platelets; a longer process but always in high demand to help cancer patients.

REVIEW #1000! My…read moresiblings and I like to donate blood together, and so my brother and I decided to come here and give platelets. I had only donated with the Red Cross once back in college, so this was my first time doing platelets at a donation center. I didn't even know they had them, I thought they only did mobile drives. But it makes sense since platelet donations are only done at a center. It was easy to create an account and schedule an appointment online. I like that I could add my donor id to my phone wallet, since they ask for it at checkin and during the interview process. The center is easy to locate and parking was plentiful. We signed in at the front desk and got name tags, which was a thoughtful touch. We were told it would be a bit of a wait since they had a big rush of donors come in. We sat in the waiting area for 30 minutes until our names were called. The interview process went smoothly and I absolute love their hemoglobin tester! No finger pricks here and my level was healthy. I also like that they do a temperature check using a forehead thermometer, so there's no need to remove my mask. Sandy was funny and personable and I enjoyed having her throughout my donation process. She was attentive and made sure I had everything I needed, including a warmed blanket and tums for the tingling. The donation chairs each have their own tv screen and headphones, which is great because giving platelets here requires a needle in both arms, so you aren't free to use one to read a book or use a device. My donation took 116 minutes, so I watched a movie on Netflix to help the time pass by (though I could hear it fine, the volume level was not adjustable from the remote). Tori helped me when I finished and was great. They have a nice selection of snacks in the canteen area plus water and juices, so I enjoyed a tropical punch, cheezits, and some pretzels. The staff gave us a nice bag and these plastic popcorn containers as a gift for our first platelet donation with them, which was an unexpected surprise. Overall, it was a positive experience despite the wait time and two arm donation. The staff was great and helpful and I'm glad we were able to donate here! Go donate blood/platelets if you can :-)

Every time he has to have bloodwork done at Sonora Quest the techs there never have a problem finding a vein - easy peasy. Yesterday (Sunday) they "blew out his vein" in his right arm. They had 4 techs trying to locate a vein. It's to the point now he no longer wants to donate blood at this facility. He may give them one more try but in the meantime we are searching for another facility.

This place is amazing. People at the front always greet with a smile and kindness. The people on the donor floor are quick and professional. There is water and snacks at the entrance. The area is always clean. Two of my experiences there- I broke my glass water bottle on the donor floor, they attended to the problem quickly. They were understanding. Another, is a worker saying a comment in regards to a person asking to pick up their wallet. She made an unnecessary comment about how the wallet doesn't have any money & that's why the young gentleman is there. She has a rude attitude all around.

$46 and 2 hours of my life for the privilege of losing blood and earning an 8-week deferral…read more I spent roughly 2 hours at the plasma center and received $46. Then, because the machine apparently decided to keep some of my blood instead of returning it, I was told I'm now on an 8-week deferral because the red blood cells couldn't be returned. They explained that this was due to FDA regulations. Fair enough--blood safety rules exist for a reason. But it would have been helpful to understand exactly what happened, how much blood I lost, and what the recovery implications were before leaving. So, to summarize: 2 hours $46 blood not returned 8-week deferral. That's an impressive exchange rate for modern civilization: two hours of my time, a portion of my blood, and eight weeks of unpaid leave from the opportunity to donate again. I understand that equipment problems and FDA requirements aren't necessarily the staff's fault. However, the communication about what happened and why the deferral was necessary could have been much clearer. At least I got $46 and a firsthand reminder that donating plasma comes with terms and conditions apparently written by a committee that has never had to explain them to a person who just lost blood. Two hours, forty-six dollars, some missing blood, and an eight-week timeout--apparently that's the premium package. They will respond with a generic response to call them which you do and they don't respond as some guy called Patrick is too busy

Great First-Time Donation Experience…read more I had a great experience donating blood here the other day. It was actually my first time ever donating, as my doctor recommended it since I'm on TRT therapy and needed to do a Power Red donation. I was definitely a little intimidated going in since I had never done it before. I had also read a few negative reviews online beforehand, which made me a bit skeptical, but I decided to go anyway. Before my appointment I called ahead with a few questions and spoke with a really helpful staff member who gave me great advice and helped ease some of my anxiety. When I arrived, the front desk team was very friendly and welcoming. They walked me through the process and made everything easy to understand. The nurse who set up my donation was knowledgeable, patient, and very kind throughout the whole experience. Since it was my first Power Red donation, I learned the machine can be a little tricky because it cycles your plasma back into the line, so you have to keep your arm positioned a certain way. The system gave a few warnings during the process, but the head nurse came over and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She stayed close by for much of the time to make sure everything went smoothly and that I was comfortable. The staff also checked on me multiple times and brought me snacks, including chocolate chip cookies, and set me up with my own tray and a bottle of water. It really felt like they cared about making sure donors were comfortable. It also wasn't overly crowded. I showed up around 10 AM and there were probably about ten people donating, but by the time I was halfway through my donation it had quieted down quite a bit and I had plenty of space. The chair itself was very comfortable. After finishing, I was able to relax in the recovery area and help myself to some snacks (the popcorn was great!). As an added bonus, I even received a free ticket to the Renaissance Festival for donating that day. Overall it was a very positive experience and the staff did a wonderful job helping a first-time donor feel comfortable and supported. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking to donate blood.

I've been here a few times now and have had mixed experiences. I wasn't able to donate on two occasions because of a slight fever and low iron, but that's not their fault! I've donated successfully a few times and it's been a smooth process each time. The phlebotomists are professional and friendly and I personally haven't had issues with the needle stick and draw. Lots of snacks and drinks available, nice receptionist at the front, and spacious location. I recommend donating at a Vitalant near you and helping others!
