In early June 2025, the fan in my old HVAC outdoor unit wasn't turning and the breaker in the…read moreelectrical panel kept turning off even though I switched it on a couple of times. I decided to get a couple of repair estimates through Yelp with California Air Control being one of the companies I reached out to since they repaired my HVAC before. Jake showed up with his tool backpack and gauges ready. He diagnosed the issues and said the outdoor unit's capacitor needed to be replaced and recommended adding a hard start unit. The other HVAC company's repairman came with just a couple of tools in his hands and had to walk back and forth to his truck to get his other tools. He took longer to diagnose the issue and recommended I replace the entire unit. My wife and I decided we weren't ready for a new HVAC unit and have California Air Control repair the old HVAC unit. Joe came by the next day to repair the unit. He was patient with answering my questions and recommended that I look into replacing the HVAC unit since it's close to 20 years old. When the Big Beautiful Bill was passed in early July 2025 that would terminate the Energy Efficient Home Improvement tax credit (Section 25C) by the end of 2025, my wife and I decided it was time to replace our old HVAC unit with a new heat pump system that would qualify for the $2K tax credit. I sent out estimate requests via Yelp to a couple of companies with California Air Control being one of them since they are trusted and reliable. I specifically stated I needed the heat pump models to meet the IRS's stated CEE efficiency standards and AHRI numbers to qualify for the tax credit. One company didn't listen and suggested I get an older inexpensive heat pump model and keep my old furnace. Jake from California Air Control listened and worked with his supplier to make sure my heat pump model qualified for the tax credit. His price estimate was also reasonable compared to the other companies. In early August, my wife and I decided to go with California Air Control for our new heat pump system and new duct replacement. This was during the heat wave and our old HVAC unit had a metal burning smell. It unfortunately died on us at the wrong time while we were waiting to get out new heat pump installation in late August. With three young kids, it was difficult for them to sleep at night. Jake and California Air Control was able to take care of my family and Joe came by to fix the old HVAC unit while we waited for the new heat pumps. As we got closer to the installation date, Jake realized my new heat pump was too big for my house because the newer heat pumps were stronger and more efficient so I didn't need a 4 ton heat pump and suggested I get a 3 ton. I did some Google research, agreed on the decision, and got a price reduction because of the lower tonnage. Abraham, Jose, and Carlos are a group of cool guys that installed the new heat pump system in three days. Jake also dropped by once in a while to check on the project to make sure it was going according to plan. I really appreciate the visits because I can't be a project manager and check on their work while working full time. Overall, California Air Control is a very trustworthy and reliable company and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I have known Oscar for about eight years, and from the very first time he serviced my central AC,…read morehe left a lasting impression on me. At that time, other companies were suggesting that I replace my entire AC system. Oscar took a very different approach. He carefully checked the system, replaced only what was necessary, and solved the problem at a very minimal repair cost. His honesty and integrity impressed me so much that I have remembered him all these years. Recently, I was ready and determined to replace my mini-split AC, and I also had a very noisy central AC system. Oscar came to my home, checked everything, and instead of immediately trying to sell me new equipment, he gave me several simple suggestions first: clean the filters, keep the doors open while the AC is running to improve airflow, and keep the thermostat at 78° or lower rather than 83°. The next day, he sent his technician, Adrian, to carefully evaluate both systems before I made the decision to replace anything. To my surprise, after the filters were cleaned, my mini-split was running smoothly again and producing wonderfully cold air! My central AC was also running well. For the noise issue, they suggested changing the return-air grille rather than replacing the entire system. I was also extremely impressed with Adrian. He was patient, detailed, and thorough. He never rushed through his work. He had such a cheerful, positive, and thoughtful attitude, and you could tell that he genuinely cared about what he was doing. His professionalism and work ethic really stood out to me. Then came the biggest surprise: Adrian left without giving me a bill. When I asked Oscar about it, he simply explained that they had come to check and evaluate everything before I spent money replacing the units. Wow. I was truly touched. After eight years, Oscar is still the same honest and trustworthy person I remembered from the very first service call. In a business where homeowners may not always know what repairs are truly necessary, having someone you can trust is incredibly precious. I am very grateful to Oscar and Adrian for their honesty, professionalism, patience, and excellent service. I will gladly recommend Oscar's company to my friends and family. I sincerely hope his business continues to thrive and grow. Honest people and honest businesses deserve to succeed!
