My family and I have used KBM Hawaii two times in the past and their service is fantastic. We will continue to use them and their business the next time we travel to Maui. The pictures are great of our unit were spot on and the pool was great. If you haven't travel to Maui the sunsets are incredible! Looking forward to another trip soon. Thank you!! read more

I stayed in a KBM Hawaii unit a few times..latest was FEb 2019 I was thoroughly satisfied..The property was beautiful. There was ability to eat in the condo or get food from a small take out or go for meal at The restaurant I was very happy with the service and hope to go back soon. read more

Couldn't ask for better hospitality and accommodating service. Everyone is freaking out right now because of Coronavirus and the last thing we need is a hassle with our canceled or postponed trips. That is why I am so beyond grateful that I booked with KBM. They immediately assisted with our change of plans to meet our needs without one single bit of hassle. The last time we stayed there we were welcomed chocolates and a lovely "tour" upon arrival. Everything was clean and comfortable, that is why we rebooked with them this time, without knowing how they'd handle this unprecedented change our world is experiencing. They took the high road and now we really can't wait for our aloha time. Mahalo KBM! read more

I visited Maui with another family (4 adults and 4 kids) for our spring break. The villa we rented was perfect for our vacation. Our accommodations had everything we needed, including large kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bedroom suites with adjoining bathrooms, an additional bedroom + living room with pull out sofa. We had a large island and dining table that accommodated our large group. The washer and dishwasher was stocked with detergent. The villa is modern with a clean design, with large open floor plan that opened up to a large covered patio via very large sliding doors. The patio/lanai had ample seating, a very large table, outdoor fridge, grill and retractable screen/shade. We spend every morning and night outside eating, lounging, and hanging with our group. It was nice to have this large outdoor private seating area available. The kids liked having the beach, pool, hot tub and other amenities in close proximity too. The villa was also had beach umbrellas, chairs, and cooler which was so helpful for our trips to the beach. The Honua Kai villas have garages! We were also able to park our car and store our surf boards, which was a nice perk. Electronic wrist bands made it very simple and efficient to access the resort and villa. The customer service was terrific. Prior to our visit, we had the staff help us set up a whale watching excursion (the tour was amazing). They also answered questions in advance of our trip. When we arrived, the staff was very attentive and accommodating with our needs and answering questions we had about navigating Maui. The resort is close to old town Lahaina (10 min) and Kapalua Bay (10 min). Grocery stores and Whaler's Village were in close proximity too. Perfect location to good eats and things to do. This was a first time visit to Honua Kai resort. We really enjoyed our stay and had great memories of the trip. We will definitely book with KBM again. read more

We will never book with this company again! They are the horrible. As several others have posted on here, my wife and I had plans to go to Maui the last week of Aug 2023. As the stories came in about the wildfires, we started to monitor the situation. After seeing the destruction the wild fires caused, we knew that we had to for go the trip. United graciously refunded our air fare in full. When I called KBM, they still said we are confirmed for the days booked and it would be ok to come to Maui. Really! Really! I told them no, we are going to conceal the trip and would like a refund. Maria said they could only offer a 24 month credit to use only on Maui. I told Maria that I may not be alive in 24 months and that all the other hotels and even the air lines were giving full refunds! She stated that where this KBM resort was located was not near the fires. I mapped it out and told her that it was 7 plus or minus miles from where they were using search and rescue dogs to recover bodies. Maria said that she would have to call her boss to see if they would give a full refund and would call me back. That was on THursday and I have not heard from them. I also filed a complainant with the BBB. If you use VRBO, the site I booked this on, stay away from any KBM Resorts. read more

This is the second time I've booked my holiday through KBM and it has only been a pleasant experience! I would highly recommend their services- from the customer service to the rooms they offer as well as activities and local highlight suggestions are all very well rounded. It is difficult in this industry to trust what you find online but KBM has been a sure bet! Thanks for offering and creating a dependable reliable source for a piece of mind vacation! read more

Overall, I loved the Honua Kai property; however, there were some issues with my stay. For one, they did not deduct the 6th night as promised via VRBO. I have been talking to them for a week and they still have not taken responsibility around this. In addition, the night before I left there was a safety incident. A member of their Maintenance staff entered our room without knocking or announcing themselves. He told my daughter "Hi." When I heard this man's voice in our room, "I asked "what are you doing here?" He apologized claiming that he thought we had already left that day & he left. My concern is that he arrived 5 minutes after my teen daughter and her friend had come back to the room. I had been there for a few hours, so it's likely that he did not know I would be there if he followed them. He arrived at 4 PM which is not a typical check out time. Check out is usually at 11 AM. 4 PM is a time when new arrivals check in unless you are already staying there. It seemed as though my daughter and her friend were followed. The resort has yet to provide me with an update from their main office about this incident occurring even though I spoke with their security and was told that I would hear back about this incident. read more

KBM Hawaii Rentals was amazing to work with. Condo was gorgeous, clean and everything they promised. We've stayed there twice. From booking to check out was so easy and drama free. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a hassle free, luxurious rental in Hawaii. read more

I absolutely LOVE KBM Hawaii. I have been going through them for years & would not use anyone else. All their units are spectacular & clean. The Check-in process is so easy, especially after a long day of travel. KBM staff treat you like you are apart of the family, and no concern is to small to accommodate. I highly recommend KBM to anyone coming on the island wanting a smooth & relaxing vacation. From A solo trip to large family trip, they will take great care of you. read more

BEWARE!! They don't follow through on what they promised, even if you have their commitment in writing. We booked a condo back in November that came with a free rental car. Now, 4 weeks before our trip they tell us that no cars are available (through their company) and refuse to compensate us for the value of a last minute rental car ($1100). Don't get screwed like we did, book your condo with someone else. read more

We love KBM Hawaii. From the booking through the check in / out, they have been so easy to work with and accommodating. The units are amazing as well. They are sparking clean and include extras including beach gear and towels. Our unit also included chocolate and macadamia nut clusters upon arrival; an island favorite. We've rented from KBM three different times and have loved both Kapalua and the Honua Kai. Both incredible locations. We love Kapalua for the quiet serenity and the fantastic restaurants and Honua Kai for the family friendly atmosphere, kitchen and access to the beach. Definitely a 5 star experience. read more

I just returned from the Honua Kai with my room managed by KBM. The one redeeming factor of KBM is that the staff is nice - from the booking process to the guest representatives. This is where they fall short - the 2 bedroom property that I stayed was not a "5 star property". Realistically I would rate it a 2/3 star property. The rug of the condo had big black stains throughout, the sink in the master bathroom was clogged to the point that it left a residue in the sink once it drained and the internet instructions were not properly outlined, requiring us to resort to other means. I've never run into so many issues with a property prior to day 1. All of these issues should have been addressed prior to my stay, hence my 2 star rating. read more

Don't use KBM Hawaii Rentals.KBM Hawaii's allegiance is to condo owners, NOT to condo renters. Our experience.... They bothered us during our stay to gain access to the owners closet. They were fired by one of the condo owners unit we rented, and they accessed the unit to remove the wi-fi ...without our knowledge or permission! Went without internet for a week and a half out of our 2 week stay. Find someone to rent from who has YOUR back, not the owners. read more

Yikes! Just returned from our week at the Honua Kai in Maui. We have been there many times and never had an experience like we did this time. Have never booked thru KBM in the past. We were not greeted by anyone, only communication was thru email. We quickly had a need to speak with someone as construction began outside our window at 6:am on our first morning there( and continued every weekday). They didn't really seem to care! There was also (VERY LOUD construction in the unit directly above us. Each communication with them seemed like they didn't know who we were or that we had ever called before. To make a very long story short, the construction above us resulted in the AC being disconnected. Discovered only because resort guests had complained and so they had a maintenance man investigate. They knocked on our door to check out our AC and as we talked I mentioned the construction. They went to check it out, returned and sure enough it had been disconnected by the construction.9 Took 2 days without AC for this to be solved! Krisy from KBM eventually offered us 5% back on our rate(if we would sign a non disclosure agreement)...Are you kidding!! $80 to not share our experience with anyone. Why?? because the extent of the construction was never disclosed and they provided no help whatsoever in resolving construction related issues. As another reviewer put it....they provided conflicting and inaccurate information and seemed challenged to do basic things!Lesson learned here!!! we will only reserve directly thru an owner. Our experience is that owners have always been hands on, concerned, helpful, responsive and available...all things that KBM is not!!!!We have been home almost a week now and still haven't received emails that they say they have sent regarding a refund. So even the insulting 5% hasn't been delivered upon!! I suspect we will never receive a refund of any kind!! They seem to have a problem with the truth!! read more

I received a response and updated policy, so was able to rebook after cancelling due to Coronavirus.

My family and I book with KBM every time we visit the island and are never disappointed. From booking our stay to check in, the duration of the stay and check out, the service is exceptional. The photos of the properties are spot on and my questions about amenities and activities to do were answered quickly and thoughtfully. Traveling with children can be a challenge in itself and I felt as though KBM treated my family as their own and were excellent hosts. I highly recommend booking with KBM as their staff adds an element to the vacation that I haven't found with any other company. Thank you KBM!!! read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE company to deal with DO NOT USE THEM. Booked my 10 year anniversary and because of this virus threat and our airline not flying out of Canada we obviously can't go anymore. They demand a 45 day cancellation policy. I paid them in full 1 day before this would have affected me not knowing just how bad this would become. 5 days later called them and try to cancel and the girl got bitchy and rude. I said you can keep all my money, pay your staff, whatever but just let me reschedule for next year, but the answer was go pound sand. Since then I have emailed 3 times without any reply. I will never use then again and neither will anyone else I know from this day forward. read more

My husband and I booked our trip to Hawaii months ago and rented a condo through VRBO, ultimately managed by KBM Hawaii. Due to the current situation around COVID19 we contacted the KBM Hawaii numerous times throughout the week to ask them about their cancellation policy given the current global pandemic. They stated that they are not making any exceptions and that if we choose to cancel we forfeit our entire payment which is ~3k. VRBO had publicly announced that they are urging all property owners to offer a refund and/or allow renters to reschedule given the travel concerns. Through NUMEROUS attempts this week to contact KBM Hawaii they have stood firm, offering no solutions. They have since stopped responding to our calls and emails. We live in CA and already told VRBO and the property management company that we are concerned of a travel ban on CA soon. We've contacted VRBO three times now and they said it's out of their control as it's ultimately up to the property managers. After 2.5 hours on the phone with VRBO today they finally escalated it to their "trust and safety" team to help get resolution. It blows my mind that this property management company could be so heartless and reckless during this time with no recourse. We are now being forced to decide if we just risk it and go, or do we forfeit the money we had saved for our vacation this year. It's sad and truly despicable that KBM Hawaii does business this way. Make it right, and I will adjust my review and rebook with your property when it's safe to travel. read more

We planned a family Maui vacation back 2019 pre COVID for the time in October 2020. Once COVID hit we cancelled and moved it to late August. we have our airline tickets in hand, LAX parking lot reserved, car rental reserved and paid for once we get to Maui. Included in our family vacation are 7 of us. We emailed KBM several weeks ahead of our departure date because we heard about the shortage of beach toys etc. They replied that our condo we were renting had all the gear for grandchildren. We were set and looking forward to this long awaited vacation. Then I get an email from KBM two days before our family flies out saying that the construction on the condo Lanai is not completed and we cannot stay there. Really two days before. They offered another place sitting on a rock beach far from where our condo was right on a sandy beach boardwalk to whalers village. Now I had to go online and find a place to stay without paying premium rates. KBM Resorts knew there was construction being done on our rental condo but never informed us of this. No other compensation was given to us. Just the refund of our paid in advance stay. So please be Aware that you may experience some anxiety if you think you have a company that has your best interest at heart. That wasn't the case here. Oh yes. Because we booked a 7-day stay we got a rental car for free reserved for us. They told us since we were cancelling our vacation that also included our rental car. Now on top of finding a place for the 7 of us to stay two days before arriving we had to find a rental car company that had a Car available for us to rent We found a place for us to stay but at 2x the cost we had budgeted and paid for in advance. Needless to say. I have deleted their email address from my address book never to use them again. Signed Disappointed from Anaheim! read more

Since 2015, I've booked with KBM 3 times (a 4th time if you count the fact that I extended my visit on the last day so had to switch units). I've also assisted friends with booking through them. I've always found their website to be accurate and their responses to phone calls and emails prompt. We will continue to use and recommend KBM. read more

Yikes. As a potential renter I had emails ignored (Maria), phone calls unanswered (Maria and Alexis), and overall had a very confusing experience trying to transact a simple booking. Their agents provided conflicting and inaccurate instructions. I know and appreciate "island style" and "Hawaiian time" but this was ridiculous. KBM is simply inept. Because of their mishandling my family missed out on booking the only week in summer that worked for all. I was initially really angry, but my wife says it is a blessing in disguise. Who knows what may go down once we're on island and locked in to their property? She's (always) right. Turns out the pictures for VRBO 733478 in Napili were outdated and inaccurate. Avoid if at all possible. read more

KBM is my "go-to" for Maui! I went in June and in October and was pleased at how easy they are to work with. I was able to find wonderful units at Honua Kai for me and my family members. We rented 3 units in October and all were able to be on the same floor. In June I was there by myself with 5 teens (crazy I know) and when i called KBM service to ask for a few more boogey boards they brought me what I needed which was awesome. Having the beach chairs and umbrella and ice chest is wonderful. I saw a high chair and kid toys as well in the closet but we are past that stage. The units are so nice and a great home away from home. Ive also had to call service and they come and actually fix the issue (one was ice in fridge and other was AC cold in one area and warmer in another). They also have great recos for local service folks for excursions, etc. I've recommended KBM to many colleagues and friends and they've been happy as well. Can't wait till our next Maui trip and another KBM rental especially with the affordable Southwest Airlines tickets. read more

Both Maria and Josh were great in a very difficult situation. Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip because of the COVID-19 pandemic generally and specifically because of the quarantine that was announced for Hawaii and because of the shelter-in-place order in California. I had purchased travel insurance, but that company was purchased by Generali Travel Insurance and they refused to honor my policy. The difference between KBM and Generali could not be more stark. The communication with KBM was superb and in the end we came to a mutually satisfactory settlement. Hopefully this pandemic will ease and we will be able to re-book our trip sometime next year. read more

KBM Hawaii has been my go-to for planning amazing Hawaiian vacations for a few years. My family of five has stayed at Honua Kai in fabulous updated condos with beautiful views, all the comforts of home, proximity to fun activities and the ultimate in relaxation. KBM Hawaii's customer service has truly been the "x factor" in making our vacations memorable. From the initial contact where they provide extensive information about the properties with photos, descriptions and options, to booking with extras like the rental car, to arriving to a spotlessly clean condo with chocolates and a few essentials (like coffee) stocked up, to helping with reservations and excursions, to loaning us boogie boards and snorkeling equipment... I could go on and on! I will definitely book with KBM in the future. Aloha! read more

UPDATE: I had posted before how they would not reschedule or refund me due to Covid. Since that last post they have reached out to me and I was able to reschedule my trip for next year. Wanted to share this latest update with those reviewers who have been trying to get a refund or reschedule through KBM. We were very frustrated too. They told us last week their cancellation policy stands unless there is a travel ban to Hawaii with no opportunity to get a refund or reschedule. It looks like they have since updated their policy and are now allowing rescheduling. We called them again this morning and were able to reschedule our stay to late summer. If you are impacted, I urge you to try them again - and call the new reservations line as opposed to the existing reservations line for a faster response. read more

I am writing to publicly say thanks to Kelcy at KBM who spent an inordinate amount of time orienting me to the Honua Kai resort in Maui and going through all the many options they had available in their rental pool. She never made me feel I had asked too many questions nor did she pressure me to commit until I had time to fully mull it over. She held a unit for me over the weekend and called be back on Monday when she said she would so we could continue our booking discussion. I am very impressed with this sunny lady. This was my first trip to Hawaii, probably my last! I was severely disappointed with the KBM Rental team. We were greeted with a less than average host, to find that our refer was not cold and had a broken door. The fix came a day later (warm beer+food) We were scheduled to be in our room 4 days, then move to another for 3. We were assured all the groceries and belongings would be moved with ease. Upon arrival to our new room most of our items were there except our case of beer, case of water, chips and misc food. 3 phone calls to KBM Hawaii, with no resolution or refund as promised. Essentially they are full of excuses but do not produce any resolutions. Buyer beware. read more

My family visits Maui almost every other year. We typically book our room accommodations through one of the owner rentals sites. However, this trip, we booked our room through KBM Hawaii and couldn't have been happier. Their customer service is second to none. We received regular email reminders of upcoming trip. KBM also called us on our day of arrival to inform us that our room was ready early and we could check in whenever we were ready. I've never had any owner nor booking agency reach out to us and let us know that we could check in early. We were extremely impressed with their customer service. The free car rental was a great bonus. To top it off, KBM was less expensive than the other owner rental sites. Finally, all of the KBM representatives were extremely friendly and helpful. The Aloha Spirit is alive and well at KBM! I would highly recommend booking through KBM Hawaii! read more

KBM Hawaii was so easy to work with from booking through our entire trip. We've used them for two separate vacations and had a great experience both times. We stayed at Kapalua villas one trip and it was very quiet and relaxing. The next trip was at Honua Kai and our kids loved the pool area and proximity to the beach, and we loved happy hour at Duke's. We've been going to Hawaii for years and always stay in West Maui - usually in Kapalua. Our favorite area to stay is the Kapalua Bay Villas and Kapalua Ridge Villas. While there are several companies that represent the various individual property owners who each own the various villas.... This is the first time out of 30 bookings that we worked with KBM Hawaii. The process of working with KBM Hawaii from start to finish has been first rate. While there were a couple issues that happened while we were on the island... KBM has handled them to our absolute satisfaction. The unit we stayed in 14G4 at the Bay Villas was beautifully done. The beds were comfortable and the showers were pretty awesome with the dual heads. While it may not be important to most vacationers the Internet connection in this unit was outstanding with hi speeds up and down. Another nice item was the walk out patio which was protected from the wind and elements because of its position to the main building. We were able to have morning coffee outside every day even when it was raining. We had an issue with the refrigerator in the kitchen which turned out to be more complicated because of unavailable parts on the Island... but KBM Hawaii immediately brought in a small refrigerator that met our needs. We vacation in Maui twice a year and always stay at Kapalua. There is no doubt that we will book again with KBM Hawaii. read more

shout out to STEVE who answered a bazillion questions. Also a big thanks to the office people who also answered a lot of questions as well. I never got to meet anyone from KBM while on Maui and i wish I had because i wanted to hug them. I swear, that office runs like a well oiled machine. They had my rental package ready and very understandable. A rental car was included and that whole ordeal went splendidly. The only surprise was that I thought I was going to be meet at the resort by a KBM rep ...instead I was directed to get my room keys from the bellman. That worked out great. We pulled up, got the keys, parked our car....and then it was VACATION ON. No waiting, no lines....just pure magic. Oh...and....thank you Maui and KBM for the rainbow filled drive from the airport to the resort. It was spectacular. I would definitely recommend KBM!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Just got back from our vacation to Maui and our 2nd time using KBM. Both times we've worked with Steve & both times he was great! I'll use him next time as well. We stayed @ Honua Kai, I just love this place! Easiest check in ever. You arrive give the bellhop your name & id and he gives you your keys which are rubber waterproof bracelets! They also work as your key to get pool towels. KBM sends you emails right up to your arrival with all the info you need. Except where to find the BBQ tools. **** They are in the drawer under the stove. You also get a welcome email from Krisi to which I responded asking what the process is for changing rooms because we stayed in a 1 bdrm for 5 days then moved to a 2 Bdrm. Sounded like no big deal. The move wasnt as easy as anticpated. I got the standard "hope you enjoyed your stay" email the day before check out of my 1st room which tells me someone didnt know I was moving. On the day we needed to move, our key stopped working at exactly 11am. Our new room wasnt ready so we packed veverything up including the food, left & hoped for the best. Later I realized we left an item in the old room so I called was told that they would contact the new occupants to arrange to get it for us, Never heard back. I got an email from Krisi, the day before check out, stating if we needed to extend our stay due to Hurricane Lane to contact her for assistance. I sent an email AND spoke to her about getting a late check out. She never got back to us, the town of Lahaina had no power & it was raining everywhere. Our only option was to wait at the airport for 10 hrs. My mom is 84 & I feel terrible for making her sit there all day. I will still use this company because of Steve but there are other companies you can use or book w/ the Hotel directly. I'll definately stay at this resort in the future. They really could improve their communications skills though. read more

We decided to stay a week in Maui celebrating my wife's early retirement and my daughter getting accepted into UCLA grad school. KBM was the property management company that we dealt with for the Honua Kai Resort. We dealt with Steve in reservations and had contacted him several times via text he was extremely responsive and very accommodating with all my questions. Once we checked in we had some special requests and dealt with Kevin in guest services and he was truly amazing.
