Our stay at unit C43 at KBM Napili Point 13-19 May was, as Charles Dickens so eloquently put it so long ago, the best of times, and the worst of times... The unit is decorated and appointed VERY well. That appealed to us when we booked. We were not disappointed! The decor is definitely Lahaina-Napili and Hawaii centric and very neat. What you would expect in a vacation condo in this location! Everything is there - including a very useful auto roll down shade on the lanai. With that down you almost have a complete extra room - and it faces the sunset over Honokeana Bay. Unit C43 is the second to last upper unit in the "last" building of the Napili Point complex, and that is not clear in the listings on VRBO where we booked. As such it is the furthest from Napili Point itself, and one of the closest units to the main road. Lower Honoapiilani Road is surprisingly busy and the road noise is quite noticeable. Being where this unit is in the complex, it is virtually the furthest away from everything you are there for, especially Honokeana and Napili Bays. Had we known the actual location of the unit we may have opted for one that had less updated and cool decor. The decor was sort of the best thing about the unit on the inside. We noticed that the upstairs "master" shower temperature fluctuated constantly, and never came close to "hot" like the downstairs shower on night one. It preferred the more, well, frigid end of the spectrum with occasional bursts of heat to make sure you were paying attention in the shower. After the first night we called the resort number and let them know. Day 2 we all showered downstairs. Inconvenient at best, but at least that shower didn't have a mind of it's own. At some point, I believe day three or maybe four in our six day stay, the hospitality folks let me know that their maintenance person couldn't fix the issue, and they called a plumber. The warm, cold, warm... meh fluctuation of the shower upstairs never changed during our stay, and was never "fixed". After night one, we realized that the upstairs bathroom counter and sink was a playland for some local lacewings/termites, and they partied HARD once the sun went below the horizon every night. Apparently the window there does not seal, and light on or off, those little bugs love to come in by the hundreds at night. They eventually drop their wings and resort to crawling once they are in. Since that area is doorless and adjacent to the king bed in the loft, they also buzzed and landed on us all night long, every night. After the third night, with half of our stay over, I went to the market and got a bottle of bug repellant, and soaked a hand towel in it on the windowsill. That cut the visitors down by probably 2/3, but, well, yeah... everything we wore now had fragrant notes of "Eau d'OFF!" for the rest of the trip. The bugs still had to spend the night with us as well, just not in as large of numbers. The window was closed the whole time. We never opened it. That never stopped the critters. When I mentioned this to the staff, it was sort of brushed off - just like we did to the bugs on our toothbrushes. We also got home with uninvited souvenirs! When we opened our bathroom kits at home this evening, bugs flew everywhere. Yay. The bugs and hot water issues overshadowed the experience for my wife and daughter especially. Since our graduation present and family trip of a lifetime was best when we were NOT in the condo, I tried to make the best of it and we spent a ton more on food than I had planned, because chilling/hanging out and eating at the condo in the evenings as we had planned was just not in the cards. So, the TL/DR: KBM Napili Point unit C43 is decorated nicely and has a lot of nice amenities like the screen on the lanai, but the second to the last unit, and there is road noise. the hot water in the upstairs/master shower fluctuates between random temperatures, and even with the window closed there are hundreds of bugs in the upstairs bath and bedroom every night unless you address it yourself. Would I recommend this unit? Probably not. The updated vibe and decor are sweet but don't make up for the annoyances of hot water and bugs. 3/10. read more

KBM Management showed zero customer service, zero flexibility, and zero concern for guests. I booked an Airbnb managed by KBM for a trip to Maui for myself and my daughter almost a month in advance. During the booking process, Airbnb displayed my intended dates but also showed "similar dates" next to them. I accidentally clicked the similar dates. The mistake was obvious and caught immediately, and I canceled the reservation right away. Airbnb reviewed the situation and refunded the charges. KBM Management, however, flat-out refused. I called multiple times to explain that this was an honest error, canceled immediately, and made far enough in advance that they should have had no problem rebooking the property without losing money. They did not care. Every response was a blunt "no," with no effort to help, no understanding, and no customer consideration whatsoever. Because of their refusal, we were stuck absorbing a significant, unnecessary expense -- money that directly cut into our vacation budget. This turned what should have been an exciting trip into a stressful and frustrating experience. This wasn't about policy -- it was about basic decency and customer service, and KBM Management failed completely. If you book with them, understand that they will take your money and will not work with you, even in reasonable situations. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We previously used KBM Resorts to book a Maui vacation and had an excellent experience. The booking process, communication, and follow-up were seamless, which is why we chose to book with them again. Unfortunately, our recent experience with a refund has been extremely disappointing. After our trip had to be cancelled due to rain damage affecting the roads and rental unit, KBM agreed to provide a full refund. We were initially told the refund would appear on our credit card within 7 days. When it did not, I had to repeatedly follow up over multiple days, only to be told the refund had just been processed that day. A week later, still no refund. After following up again, I was informed that only half the refund had been processed to my credit card, while the other half had been mailed via cheque without my approval. When I raised concerns that mailing a cheque created further delay, KBM advised that if I provided banking information they could cancel the cheque and transfer the funds electronically. After providing my banking details, I was then told they would not proceed with the transfer after all. To make matters worse, I have dealt with more than five different representatives throughout this process, creating confusion, inconsistent information, and no clear accountability. We are now entering week three and I still have not received any portion of my refund. While KBM's booking experience was excellent, their refund process has been disorganized, misleading, and frustrating. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to book with them again. read more

WARNING: AVOID HKK 201 & KBM RESORTS - Health Hazards and Management Nightmares If you value your health, your money, or your sanity, do not book Unit Hokulani 201 at the Honua Kai Resort. Our stay was managed by KBM Resorts, and it was hands-down the most stressful, disgusting, and unprofessional experience we have ever had in Hawaii. The view from the room was the only good part. We had originally booked directly with the Outrigger and decided to move our reservation to the KBM unit. 1. A Total Disregard for Health & Safety Before arriving, we explicitly informed KBM that my husband has asthma. We requested a deep clean of fans and air filters to ensure a safe environment. They completely ignored us. Upon arrival, we found the box fans in the closet caked in thick dust, the vacuum cleaner was filthy, and the air filters were clearly neglected. To make matters worse, the AC was broken (displaying an E101 Error and the freon/refrigerant was leaking and that's why it wouldn't work. Same temperature inside as it was outside), and the hallway smelled of foul odors. They knowingly placed a person with a respiratory condition into a dust-filled, unventilated unit. 2. Filth and Disrepair (See Photos) The level of neglect in this "luxury" condo is staggering. We found: * Biohazard Stains: The throw pillows on the sofa have massive, disgusting stains. The laminated instructions on the island were covered in dried food and mysterious yellow "leaking" stains. * Food Scraps: There were food crumbs and debris left on the outdoor furniture. * Dilapidated Kitchen: The dishwasher top rack falls out completely(almost fell on our 2yr old), the broom is unusable, and the cooking utensils are literally melting or peeling apart.The markings on the knobs on the oven are completely worn out and we couldn't see the temperature settings and ended up burning our food multiple times while guessing what it was set to. The oven also kept turning off randomly. 3. Failed Infrastructure Nothing in this unit works correctly. * Plumbing Issues: Neither the bathroom sink nor the right side of the kitchen sink drains properly. * Cold Showers: There is no hot water--it is lukewarm at best. We had to ration our showers to 1 min each (mind you, we are 2 adults and 2 little kids) so we didn't run out of the warm water too. * Physical Pain: The handle to the master shower is so stiff it is nearly impossible to turn; you actually risk hurting your wrist just trying to bathe. 4. Abysmal Management (Christine Teruya) The only thing worse than the room was the "service." We dealt with Christine Teruya (Director of Guest Experience), who defines unprofessionalism. She actually hung up on my husband during a call to finalize a resolution. She offered no apology and no immediate compromise. When I spoke to her, she asked me to provide a refund figure, stating she "didn't want to insult me by offering a number." The KBM management team took no ownership or accountability in reaching a compromise or fix, stating that they opened work orders to "fix" the issues and that was enough. Opening work orders to fix a broken ac or hot water heater is the bare minimum you can do, that's not accountability or taking care of the customer. THE BOTTOM LINE: KBM Resorts is happy to take your "luxury" money but will provide a sub-standard, filthy, and broken unit in return. They do not care about your health or your experience. Save your vacation and book elsewhere. HKK 201 is a health hazard and a rip-off. read more

The house keeping staff that they sent were friendly and good. Our condo had a terrific view. We enjoyed watching the whales from our lanai. Book directly through KBM. Would not recommend... I booked a SPECIFIC unit from KBM for a stay last month at Honua Kai through booking.com. Bad idea. I definitely learned my lesson about booking 3rd party. They switched rooms on me EVEN AFTER I confirmed in writing with Maria the Director of Guest Services and upon learning that it was most definitely changed a week before our stay (and to a less superior room) I inquired about the switch. Booking.com said it was completely up to KBM to do anything but KBM would not fix it or do anything or even make it right by letting me out of the misleading reservation! This is the worst customer service and I would avoid KBM resorts for ANY and ALL bookings. read more

We've rented from KBM Resorts several times over the years and always had good experiences until this most recent stay. Unfortunately, this trip revealed how a company handles things when something goes wrong. Our refrigerator stopped working early in the stay, causing all of our groceries to spoil and forcing us to eat out for several days. While the team brought in a temporary refrigerator, it was placed in the middle of the dining area -- not an ideal solution for a paid resort rental. Along with it was a warm fridge that took 48 hours to get to cooling strength. It was smaller and as definitely not ideal for how much money was spent to rent this condo. KBM's public response to my review is not accurate. I did provide receipts showing the cost of the spoiled groceries, and they did offer compensation -- but only if I signed a non-disclosure agreement, which I found completely inappropriate for a paying guest to be asked to sign. Having to involve an attorney just to review an NDA over a basic service issue is unreasonable. I have documentation supporting everything I've stated, including the receipts I provided and the photos of the temporary fridge. It's disappointing to see a company I've trusted in the past handle this situation so poorly. Hopefully, KBM re-evaluates how they treat repeat guests when legitimate problems arise. read more

I booked 4 nights at the Montage (Now named The Resort at Kapalua Bay) Unit #1205. The resort is a joke. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Not kidding you, when we pulled up to Valet our car, the lady came and opened my wife's door on the passenger side and said, "What are you here for?" Immediately. No "Hey! Welcome." nothing. Super rude demeaner in general. Moving onto the amenities, they are transitioning from the Montage managing the property to now Marriott. Someone in Marriott decided in their infinite wisdom to make the transition happen over a week. This was a disaster. Pools and grounds seriously understaffed and dirty. The spa couldn't take appointments because they couldn't tell you when they were booked because of their system being down. You couldn't room charge anything because of the same system, so you had to make sure you had a CC everywhere you went and keep the receipt if you get room credits. The room service food was ok but constantly got our orders wrong or missed things. We had 1 really great waitress that delivered food to our room. Talked to 5 other couples down at the pool and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them said exactly the same thing. Terrible service, terrible experience, nice view just wish it was an actual 5* resort like it claims. They offered to comp our parking. For reference I paid $3800 a night for my room. This place is a joke, save your money and book the Ritz or stay in Wailea at the Fairmont or 4 Seasons. read more

If I could leave a negative star i would. We arrived to an INSANE amount of ants in literally every room, the bathroom floors looked like they had never been cleaned, including the floor mats. They blocked off the master bedroom which the door was at the top of the stairs so it was a super tight squeeze to get to the other room, super unsafe for my kids. There were two lizards in the bedroom. 5 BROKEN (literally hanging sideways with duct tape) fans throughout the unit. The listing said AC, the fans were far from an ac unit in 96 degrees with 102 humidity. Two of the cups in the cabinet had LIP marks on the rim. The plates had old food crusted to them. It was actually mind blowing that anyone would think this was OK. I contacted kbm and they explained they can't do anything about the ants because its summer time, they dont install ac units so we have to use the fans, and they would send a cleaner in two days. We paid 5,500 for this. We immediately left and booked a place with basically the exact same layout across the street for half the price, ac and was newly renovated.. this place didn't have ketchup and oil stained all down the LIVING ROOM curtains. We have stayed at several places in Maui, always with KBM. This past Christmas we had the best stay ever and it was because of this company. We had zero issues picking up our rental car and their guest services team was super responsive when I needed help with how to get the TV working (my fault!). Aside from that, the amenities they include are hotel level. I wish they were operating all over the world! read more

Just got back from our first stay with KBM Resorts. We stayed @ The Whaler in #723 for two weeks, this was not our first time at The Whaler, so we knew what to expect while staying @ The Whaler. This was our first time to book with KBM, TBH, I was hesitant due to some of the reviews. I will have to say we received exceptional service from KBM. After checking in, I called KBM to request an oscillating fan for the living room area, one was delivered within an hour or two, prompt service! I also, asking about TV instructions, again prompt service. Once we retuned home, I discovered I left behind my AirPods, I contacted KBM immediately, I will have to say, they went above & beyond assisting with returning my items left behind. Staff handled the situation with such professionalism and kindness. I appreciate all their efforts in assisting me. BTW, The Whaler is great, #723 was very comfortable, master bath is awesome, kitchen was well stocked. My only suggestions, update the bed pillows in both bedrooms. I would definitely rent a vacation rental with them again. Mahalo! read more

Beautiful condo at Honda Kai unit H-603. Views were amazing. Resort was great! But we had so many issues with appliances. A couple of visits to repair fridge, wouldn't close properly so alarm keep going off. Freezer wouldn't freeze. So they brought a whole separate fridge/freezer to the dining room so could have ice (since repair couldn't happen until our departure). Dishwasher wasn't working. Detergent pod wouldn't dispense/dissolve when we did get it to run. Hand washed dishes for 7 after multiple dinners. KBM agreed to credit us for our troubles on the 2nd to last day of our travels. We also were charged by rental car agency when we returned our car that was "included" in our condo rental. So KBM now owes us credits for 2 things. Many emails later and still no credit 21 days after we've arrived back home. I've been told "5-7 business days to receive credit" since my first conversation. Has really been a time suck. Completely put a damper on what was supposed to be a great trip. read more

When we checked into our room, we immediately saw cockroaches and other bugs crawling everywhere even up to the ac vents. Cabinet doors were literally falling off when opened, shower drain wouldn't drain so it turned into a tub, BBQ on lanai was filthy, the table in the unit was filthy, the lanai furniture had bird poop all over it, the TVs in the unit were from like 2001. It was so badly outfitted with cookware, I literally had to buy my own. If I owned this unit myself, id fire them immediately upon seeing how they kept up with my unit. read more

I simply cannot believe this company touts itself as "customer service oriented" or "luxury" after the awful service we have received. My husband and I booked a condo in Maui for August 11th-16th. Unfortunately, Maui has suffered horrific wildfires that have shut down the half of the island the property is on. The property does not have electricity. Roads everywhere are closed due to the natural disaster. AND YET, KBM refuses to allow us to cancel the reservation and get a refund because we are '45 days within the stay'. What kind of customer service policy is this?! They have instead offered a "trip credit" that must be used at one of their properties in the next 24 months. Given the fact that I am 4 months pregnant, we have no plans to attempt to make the trek all the way from the east coast of the US back to Hawaii, or to Utah, where all of their properties are located. This kind of customer service is laughable in the wake of a horrific natural disaster at best, and outright ignorant of the undertaking Maui will suffer trying to rebuild in the wake of this disaster. We booked our condo in Maui with this company and then the fires happened. They had to cancel our reservation to help house residents which we fully accepted and understood. They were kind in their explanation and in processing the refund. The process took a little while which was fully understandable due because they were short staffed due to their employees being affected. We will be glad to book with them again! read more

KBM was great to work with and came through with a prompt full refund. It was tough communicating with them, but considering the circumstances of Maui currently that is understandable. The Honua Kai was closed due to the tragic fire during our scheduled visit (08/26/23-09/02/23). The refund check came fast. We were prepared for a fight due to the fact that we were beyond our cancellation window and weren't interested in a credit, but that was needless, they offered us a refund right out of the gate, no argument. When and if we return to Maui I wouldn't hesitate to use KBM again. read more

KBM Resorts has been wonderful to work with. We have experienced kind and generous customer service from them. Our stay at the Honua Kai fell within the window of the governments discouraged travel proclamation to West Maui. Despite our travel contract making it very clear numerous times that Travel Insurance is strongly recommended and that there funds would be forfeited in unforeseen events like natural disasters. They went above and beyond what was outlined in the agreement and provided us with a travel credit for the full amount of our deposit. We are impressed and extremely appreciative! I look forward to working with and rebooking with KBM Resorts in the future. read more

Do not use this company. They do not care about COVID safety or what's best for the families who are staying at their properties. My family booked a stay with them and since there is STILL a pandemic going on, we do not feel comfortable flying on a plane to Maui when so many states have done away with their COVID restrictions. KBM will not let us change the dates unless we actually have COVID. They only care about the money. So now we have to go or lose our money. I hope we don't get COVID... UPDATE: I am so disappointed with the dealings with KBM. After seeing my original review above, they agreed to move our dates so long as I take the review down. We agreed and told them we would like to move back to our original dates over Thanksgiving. But now they are trying to upcharge us an additional $1,224.64 at a rate of about $470/night for the new dates. Even though our original booking was also over the Thanksgiving holiday and we paid $2,973.73 ($295/night), this time around it's much higher for some reason. To make matters worse, when I did a quick search on VRBO, there were several KBM properties at the Kapalua Villas for our NEW dates over Thanksgiving that were under $300/night - screenshots attached. Find another company to rent from. We were bullied and blackmailed. This is how ... We booked KBM Resorts VIR-508, for an October 2023 stay in Maui on April 11, 2023. Wanting to be respectful of those affected by the tragic fires in Lahaina we called KBM to inquire about our reservation a few weeks after the fire. We were ready to postpone our trip or find another property where we could stay. Yet we were assured the reservation was still in place and that they were basically ready for our arrival several weeks away. On October 10, 2023, two days prior to our reservation date, we received an email from KBM Resorts stating our rental was ready for our arrival. However, much to our dismay we discovered that it indeed was not ready. The first thing we noticed was the Murphy bed was moved from the wall it was on in the pictures we saw. It was placed up against the glass wall/sliding glass door blocking half of the amazing ocean view. We were disappointed. As we began to get settled the list of disappointments grew: - broken full-size fridge/freezer replaced with one 1/2 the size - 2 sets of outlets in the kitchen not working Garbage disposal not working - 2 of the 3 TVs not working - Toilet in 2nd bathroom ran continuously - Glass shower door in 2nd bathroom didn't close - Ceiling tile in a closet hanging down - No beach chairs (stated on website they'd be supplied) - No beach umbrella (stated on website it would be supplied) - filthy floors under the sectional that had to be moved to pull down the Murphy bed. On the website it states: "Your KBM Resorts villa is delivered clean, safe, and sanitized for your enjoyment." We did not experience that. We would have been able to look past most of these disappointing issues had it not been for what happened next. Two of us started to pull down the Murphy bed because there was a sign on the bed stating it was heavy. As we slowly started pulling it down we suddenly felt the WEIGHT OF THE ENTIRE BED (frame and all) FALLING ON US! We were able to catch it and thankfully not get hurt as we pushed the entire bed back up against the glass wall. Needless to say it wasn't bolted to anything. We were able to get a roll-away an hour after calling the after-hours number. The next morning the facility lead came by to check-in. After going over the list of issues in the villa he asked us to write everything down and told us that he'd be back later with a team of people to work on everything-most of all anchoring the murphy bed into a wall. The majority of the issues were taken care of with the exception of the shower door latching/staying shut and the garbage disposal. The lead facility guy told my sister she'd be contacted by someone soon and if she was nice she'd take good care of us. Days went by, and we heard nothing. My sister reached out several times via email to several different people, but to no avail. She was finally contacted by Guest Experience Ambassador Christina two days before our departure. Christina stated that they decided two nights at half price was acceptable compensation. My sister reminded her that the ENTIRE Murphy bed fell toward us and could have seriously injured us. Her response was basically "but it didn't. You're ok." After some back & forth, and shock at the lack of compassion, we verbally agreed to the minimal compensation saying we'd make sure to leave an honest review. Christina replied, "Oh, no. That's part of the contract that you'll need to sign. If you want the compensation you agree to not post any negative reviews on social media." My sister told Christina she doesn't stand for being bullied and blackmailed and ended the call. We thoroughly read reviews prior to making our decision to book this villa and were surprised that we hadn't read any negative reviews. We assume we now know why. Others took the compensation and forewent their opportunity to share an honest review. Needless to say, we forewent the minimum compensation to not let a bully succeed and to share our experience in hopes of it saving someone else the headache and disappointment. read more

KBM is the best, and we will never use another vacation rental agency in Maui. Everyone we worked with was extremely responsive and helpful and the prices cannot be beat. Upon arrival our unit exceeded expectations. It was sparkling clean, nicely furnished and well-equipped with necessities to make our stay comfortable. We stayed at Honua Kai, which was a perfect choice for our family. Our kids adored the lazy river and splash pad and we were just a short walk to restaurants, tons of food trucks and the market. There's even a bus stop in front of the grocery store where we were able to take a short trolley ride to whalers village so we could have a mai tai at Monkeypod and not have to drive (even though we did have a rental car, which was included with our package!). Our kids are too young for it, but there's even snorkeling right in front of the resort! My sister and brother in law, who live upcountry, came to have dinner with us one night. We used the grills that are provided for guests and ate dinner al fresco. It was lovely and they commented on how nice the place was and said that it felt like the other resorts on the island, which cost $350+++ per night for a single room with just a bed and a bath... we got two bedrooms, a living area and a kitchen, plus a rental car! Maui is not a cheap place to visit, but KMB offers a great product for a fantastic value! read more

My little family and I had to cancel our trip this past April due to COVID like many other reviewers here and there was a lot of uncertainty as to what options we had back in early March. We have used KBM for condo rental in Maui in the past with no issues. However, we were scheduled for a 12nt trip that we literally booked 3 days before the wildfires broke out, and we have been told that they will not refund our money. They have said that we will receive a credit for future travel that will be good for 24 months (talked to Maria on the phone twice last week but have been unable to reach anyone since then), but I have yet to receive anything in writing regarding the credit. I have emailed multiple times and left several voice messages, but I can't get through to anyone and no one will call me back. For anyone else who was offered a credit, did you receive an email verifying the amount/timeframe to redeem/etc.? read more

My husband and I were going to Maui for our 1st anniversary until the Coronavirus hit the Hawaiian Islands, and unfortunately we had to cancel our trip- it was out of our control. We booked a KBM property through VRBO (this one: https://www.vrbo.com/2284864?adultsCount=4&noDates=true&unitId=2849754) and had a less-than-stellar experience. Most of the problems were not KBM's fault, and they did what they could to help. We left an appropriate negative review on VRBO given our overall bad experience, and KBM responded to my review with absolute lies trying to shift the blame to me. Jacki was helpful over the phone and sincerely apologetic for the fact that they gave us non-functioning door codes and had to send a technician out to fix the situation multiple hours after our arrival. When the technician couldn't get the door open with the supplied codes, it's pretty clear at that point that the fault is not ours. Jacki was on the phone with him and I the entire time and it's clear the codes they supplied did not work. She then apologies that the owners removed features (like a second murphy bed) from the unit the week prior, which we absolutely did not know until the technician finally got us in the door. Jacki didn't know this either until we got inside, but was willing to supply a rollaway for my daughter. At no point were we offered to change units as stated in the response to our VRBO review. They then had to supply our unit with missing amenities (cooler, umbrella, sand toys, etc.) a couple of days later. KBM said that stuff was in the lanai closet, but that closet was locked so we couldn't access it anyways. I sincerely hope Jacki wasn't the person who responded to my VRBO review with the lies, implying our poor experience was our fault, and not the owner's fault, because she seemed sincerely apologetic for the issues we faced during our stay. Having old/crappy/worn out furniture in the unit is not KBM's fault, but the lies are absolutely unacceptable. As someone who travels a lot, my recommendation is to own up to your mistakes and try to make things right where you can. Don't lie and assign blame to your customer. If you delete your review response on the VRBO web page, I will gladly remove this review. read more

Just finished our week long vacation at Honua Kai unit 211 rented through KBM. I will say that we were very happy with every aspect of our rental and the process. The communication and instructions from KBM was very clear and easy to understand. They respond quickly to emails and when our door lock quit working, I called KBM who stayed in close contact with me and made sure my door lock was repaired quickly. The location of 211 was perfect for us, I especially liked that we could sit on our balcony every evening and listen to the live music at Duke's Restaurant. We hope to be back again sometime. Within five minutes of entering Kapalua Bay Villa 12B3, we called KBM and said that this place was filthy and a disgrace, and that we didn't want to stay here, but we were stuck staying in 12B3 for 30 days. Not only is the condo filthy, but it has not been maintained for a long time. The couch was so stained and dirty, we placed towels down before sitting on it. It is broken down and uncomfortable to sit on as was the other furniture in the unit. The furniture and decor looked like it was purchased at a swap meet. The rustic furniture was totally inappropriate and was impossible to clean. We actually had to vacuum the dining table to get the food and debris out of the cracks, the same with the coffee table. At least they should have glass tops to make cleaning possible. I had to ask KBM for beach chairs and a cooler. The cooler they provided was way too large, so I bought one of our own. I also asked for windex because the windows and screens were filthy. The screens and window coverings (blinds, drapes) are rotting with holes and black mold evident everywhere and need to be replaced. I asked for some ant traps and was provided with a bottle of something which was not effective. The unit also had cockroaches and other bugs. There was one chaise lounge on the lanai, and no other comfortable chairs to sit on to relax or read. The lanai had piles of sand swept into the corners rather than cleaned up. The refrigerator was rusting out as was the washing machine. There were large cracks running down the walls. KBM asked what they could do to rectify the unit, but this unit needs a complete upgrade of furniture and appliances, new screens and window coverings. It is actually an unhealthy unit and should not be rented to anyone read more

At first I was very impressed with how KBM dealt with me and my family. They did a great job. In fact, we even canceled our other stay because we wanted to stay with them. As soon as that happen, it went down hill from there. We called them and asked about a place, because we dealt with vacasa and they are even worse than KBM. They told us they would get us a good room and even offered early checkin. So we literally sat around and waited for them. They called us at 1:30 and said your room would be ready soon, go get keys in a few minutes at the vallet. We waited 30 minutes and went to vallet. They had no clue what I was talking about. I told them we were staying in another room, and please let us know when the keys were dropped off. Literally waited an hour. Call the valet nothing was dropped off. Call KBM they have no idea what I'm talking about. About 30 minutes later they called me back and said we tracked down your keys and they were sorry for the confusion. So we didn't get too hard on them for this despite literally killing almost 4 hours waiting for them instead of exploring Hawaii. We finally get into our room, the AC broke. They sent a repair man and he told me it would need to be fixed. This was perfect since both of my 2 kids were taking a nap and we needed someone with an impact drill waking them up. The fox needed to happen in our room so we had to stay and wait for the man to leave. The lady from the management company didn't even say anything about this huge inconvenience. Like it's no big deal. What pissed me off, was the tech said it's happen before and the compressor must of finally broke. Okay, let's wait till it breaks while someone's in there so we can fix it. But that's not all folks. We decided to extend our stay by a day, due to flight reservations. I called there, the lady Beatrice or whatever her name is, couldn't even find our current reservation. I was blown away. She wanted to book me for one day and charge room fees, cleaning etc. I clearly said no. She said, maybe call in the morning and talk to Kevin he would have more insight on our reservation. Like do you run your business out of a cereal box? Where are is your client list. Where is your invoices! Your reservation list! So my wife called the following day, talked to Kelsey and we extended our stay by one day. Thinking that this company extended our electronic bracelet by one day we went on our way. To our surprise, we came back from the beach with the family right before lunch and we were locked out of our room. We contacted the bell desk, they said they had no idea what to tell us. I called KBM and asked to talk to someone in charge immediately and they transferred me over to an answering machine 2 times. I finally called a third time and gave Kelsey my piece of mind Asking her to give me a live person and not a machine. She told me to screw off and hung up the phone. And she literally ignored my phone calls despite me calling for 30 minutes straight. I was pissed. My wife ran down to the bell desk again, bare in mind we have 2 wet infants with us. That need to go down for a nap and they are screaming. It's been almost 2 hours and we can't get into our room. The bell desk says go to the security building across the street 4 buildings away, so my wife holding a 6 month old who is screaming his head off goes to the building and literally forces the security to give us our damn keys to get into our room. She was not taking no for an answer. And them seeing a rampant screaming child they didn't disagree. After we already entered our room, I finally got ahold of KBM. The customer service lady Joyce told me she didn't know what happened. Yet again I had the same exact conversation I had with them about not knowing where the keys are and who's responsibilities it was to hand them out. She told me she would get to the bottom of it, but then I literally never heard from her again! Very disappointed! We didn't want much from you guys! Just communication and for you to do your friking job! Like getting us our keys! Simple! Right? You would think! We will not be staying with this company again! It's not the delivery it's the follow through! Failed miserably! read more

My FAVORITE place to stay on Maui is Honua Kai and KBM Hawaii is my favorite way to get there! We live on Oahu and went over for a "Girls Get-Away / Stay-Cation" and CANNOT wait to go back. KBM Hawaii too great care of us. Great communication while booking, as well as immediate follow up for our questions after we booked! Upon arrival we were greeted and escorted to our immaculate suite. A welcome note with coffee, tea and fresh cookies were a nice touch! They were super great in getting us some help on the day we attempted to use the grill. For some reason 4 ladies could not get it to light and had to call them to help. Immediately someone arrived and presto!! BBQ grill working! I know there are hundreds of places to stay on Maui as well as hundreds of real estate property managers......I will always call on them first because of their world class customer service.
