This is probably the best katsu place in the area! The owner is very nice and service is great. I came here with a large party and he provided our tables with multiple free corn cheese appetizers! Everything is breaded lightly which doesn't feel too greasy, and the meat is also juicy and not dry. The curry sauce is so good and definitely worth the extra few dollars. I also enjoy the salad it comes with and the dressing, along with the sauces. This place can be busy on the weekends, so expect a wait.
The katsu is always amazing when i come in, the flavor of the batter, the juiciness of the cheese katsu and the katsu sauces to pair keep me coming back. I tried a new Katsu this time : The Chili Teppan Katsu and it was huge! The veggies underneath are delicious, charred, and i wish they'd sell it on their own. I wasn't a fan of the bonito flakes and it's definitely a dish you eat in the moment it does not reheat well unlike the cómo katsu entree. I got a side of snow onions and a said of curry to try and both very delicious. The service is always fast, although this time our waitress was a bit dismissive. The restaurant is on the smaller end but feels very airy. Whenever I'm in the mood for a crispy, crunchy, katsu this is the place i crave.
This place is so good! Their cheese katsu was huge and the cheese pull was insane on these. The bibim soba was also super cold and refreshing. Just beware - it's a bit spicy! The snow katsu was my favorite. The sweet onion was a perfect pairing to put on top of the katsu. I can also tell they make the katsu fresh in-house because they were perfectly cooked and crispy! I highly recommend this place.
Delicious katsu spot to dine at in Centreville! My friend and I stopped by for a weekend lunch and ordered the cheese and snow katsu with curry. While waiting, we enjoyed a fresh house salad and a comforting bowl of miso soup. The katsu arrived quickly with fresh and crispy breading that paired well with the curry and sauces -- an appetizing spread! The ambience was casual and service was welcoming. Throughout our lunch, the Kazone team was kind and courteous to every guest. Parking was plentiful, however the restaurant filled up swiftly during lunch hour with limited seating, so keep peak dining hours in mind before arriving. Overall, we had such a pleasant experience here and would love to come back and try other dishes!
Good katsu place that'll curb your craving in a pinch. Plenty of parking (except not during the grand opening of Teso) but not many places to sit. It's a small restaurant (maybe about 8 small tables that seat 4 each). Had a chance to try their chicken katsu and fish katsu- I liked the fish more. Nothing mind blowing, but good. The exterior for both- crispy crunchy; a little too thick in some parts. Fish was huge, flakey and delicious. Chicken had a weirdly smooth texture almost like extra ground chicken? it tasted fine. I love that they package all three dipping sauces for take out. Traditional don katsu sauce, wasabi, and spicy katsu sauce. Can't go wrong with sweet savory katsu sauce but wasabi was also delicious. I loved tartar sauce with fish. I think I like Tomo's fish by a hair, but they're comparable. I like Tomo's batter better. Service was fast and friendly.
This restaurant specializes in one thing only - katsu! I got their combo plate that included chicken katsu, pork katsu and a cheese katsu. The katsu was nice and crisp on the outside but still juicy on the inside. They serve the meal with some rice and cabbage and different dips. My personal favorite was the cheese katsu! The service here is also very friendly and would definitely come back when I'm craving katsu.
Speedy service! I tried the chicken katsu donburi. I've never had donburi before so nothing to compare to, but this was delicious. I enjoyed the sauces that came on the side too! We also tried the potato shrimp. My only complaint was that I felt a bit rushed. We came in around 8:15 and they closed at 9. I kept hearing the server tell new guests coming in that the kitchen was closing at 8:30 and seemed to be pushing people away. If the kitchen closes at 8:30, I'd think they should just revise their hours to close at 8:30 instead of 9. All in all, we would return to try different menu options!
First off, we were next in line for a party of 2, however, the waiter sat 2-3 parties that were 3-4 people in front of us because they "had to prioritize the larger groups". Mind you, it's nearly 15 degrees outside... so we were all huddled up by the door waiting for the table. Corn cheese 5/5 -can never go wrong Cheese katsu 3/5 -cheese became solid too fast imo Curry 4/5 -very savory
- the panko was crispy - curry was light and mildly sweet with hints of savoriness from ground meat - mozzarella was delicious and the curry complemented it well - big portions of fish for fish katsu and loved that it came with katsu - waiter was very nice and food came out very fast even though we came 30 mins before closing - small but plenty of seating! and quick cleaning
TLDR: Solid offerings but could make small improvements. Definitely worth a visit. The food here was mostly good. My wife and I started with the potato shrimp. They were nice and crispy and had a good sauce to dip them in. My wife ordered the spicy pork dish and I ordered the bulgogi donbari bowl. We both also added curry. The bulgogi definitely could have benefitted from some spice as it felt a little flat flavor wise. I appreciate that they did a bulgogi and went different than other katsu offerings that usually are on menus. The spicy pork dish definitely had the most flavor. But I felt like the thinly shaved stuff on the top of it and the amount of cheese might have been just a tad too much. I feel like cutting back on the amount of cheese and stuff on top would have given it a better balance. The curry had a really good flavor and was similar to our favorite curry at Kare Bar. The restaurant is not huge but there's a fair amount of seating available. The staff were super kind and knowledgeable. They helped explain any questions about the menu. There's plenty of parking in the lot they're located in.
It's not like crazy good or anything. But it is the best one I had so far in Virginia. Everything I ordered was good. Taste-wise and plating-wise. Wish this place is a bit closer but it makes more sense that it's in Centreville where a lot of Asians lives. I definitely recommend people who live closer here to try. Price is perfect for the food. I would go again if I'm nearby.

Everything we ordered was delicious and the vibe inside was great for a nice, relaxing meal. Our server was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back and can't wait to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!
Ordered the cheese katsu with a side of curry and a katsu sando. They were both cooked perfectly, with the meat of the katsu being both juicy and tender. The curry sauce was also a nice compliment to the katsu and I would highly recommend it as a side order. The service was good and attentive. The interior was nothing to write home about, however it was neat and clean. Would definitely come back again to try their other options!

Kazone has gotten quite the upgrade since I've been back! The restaurant has received a classy facelift while still serving one of the best Cheese Katsu in the area. The cutlet was perfectly crispy, paired with an ooey-gooey cheese pull that did not disappoint. Service was great during my visit, and the portion size was generous and very satisfying. Definitely a spot worth revisiting! read more
I always come here when I'm craving tonkatsu. The portions are generous, and the pork cutlet is always crispy and delicious. One of my friends absolutely loves tonkatsu, so we always come here whenever we're in the mood for it. If you're a fan of tonkatsu, I definitely recommend giving this place a try! read more

I ordered the katsu combo and everything was delicious. The pork and chicken katsu were perfectly crispy, tender, and served hot. The hot sauce paired really well with both. This was my first time trying cheese katsu and it was amazing. The cheese was creamy and rich with a crispy outer shell. I also ordered the potato shrimp, which was crispy and tasted great with the dipping sauce. And the cheese corn is a must try. Hands down the best cheese corn I've had. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, and the chef owner even came out to check on us. The food came out quickly, and the overall experience was great. The ambiance great. Small establishment but mighty food! Wow! Gone is the old owner and the new owner has arrived with fury!!! Every single thing from the salad dressing, miso soup to appetizers... every single thing on the menu has been redone by the new owner... The owner/chef is such a foodie that instead of using sugar to sweeten the food, he uses the sweetness from vegetables, mushrooms, onions into the broth. The crisp on the katsu is out of this world... I haven't had better more moist and well cooked pork in NoVA... you have to bring your family and children to try the katsu dishes. You have to try every sauce in the following order... 1) salt (simply beautiful in drawing out the beauty of the pork) 2) the wasabi 3) regular katsu sauce 4) spicy katsu sauce. The ramen broth is clean and beautiful... the in house spicy sauce is a must to dash into the beautiful broth. Make your way and try everything on the menu... the staff is so attentive and friendly, I literally never had to ask for water... it was always filled before I could even ask. This place is AMAZING!!! We came on a Sunday night and were able to be seated right away. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Their playlist happened to have a ton of my favorite r&b songs so the vibes were top tier. We got the croquette, cheese katsu, and the chili teppan katsu. We didn't realize the meal came with miso soup and salad so that was a nice surprise. The croquette was perfectly crispy & the cheese katsu had an amazing crisp and texture which together with the sauce was delicious. Honestly tasted better than the cheese katsu I recently had in Korea! The chili teppan katsu had so much flavor and was probably my favorite. The staff were so kind and attentive, and the owner even came to check up on us and was so friendly! Will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area :) read more

Cute little restaurant in Centreville! I came here with my fiancés family and we got a variety of dishes. The restaurant has an interesting variety of Japanese and Japanese-Korean fusion dishes. All meals came with miso soup and salad which was nice. I got the bulgogi donburi and my fiancé got the chicken katsu. The chicken katsu was nicely fried and came with some delicious sauces. The bulgogi donburi was decent, albeit a little oily and sweet for my taste. The servers were friendly and attentive overall, although some dishes took a little longer to come out. Service was great here! Such friendly and thoughtful staff who really paid attention to our group of 4. The place had a decent amount of seating, though still a bit small, so I'd recommend not going with a large party. We all tried a variety of dishes, but my personal favorite was the croquettes (which I'm a sucker for). I had the fish katsu as my main dish but I found it a little bland. All our dishes came with every variety of sauce, which I appreciated but would've preferred just the sauces that complement the food well. The food was delicious fresh, I ordered cheese katsu, fried chicken or karage and shrimp wrapped in potato. The karage doesn't make a good left over. This place has some really good Katsu, but is it worth visiting? Personally if you want something quick to eat for lunch or if you just like eating anything Katsu in general then you're in the right spot. Food is made fresh daily and made with " love " as others claimed. This place is small but don't expect nothing fancy, it's very casual and you'd probably be out of here in 20-30 minutes since the food comes out fast. I got the Chicken Katsu because in my opinion it's a good test to see if comes out golden brown and when you do bite into it you taste the juices from the chicken. A flavorful bite none less. Before my Katsu was served, they do give you a mini salad and a small bowl of miso soup. This is pretty standard for places that do serve Japanese food but the salad was okay and the soup was honestly lukewarm. They aren't the main attractions here so I can be a bit lenient here. When it did come out, the plate had Chicken Katsu on one side, with sauces and radish on the other. The middle of the plate had rice and more salad too. Taking a bite out of the Katsu, it passed the test. It was juicy with every bite and paired with the non spicy/spicy sauce it enhanced the flavor too. I do think this is a great contender for best Katsu in the DMV but I'm honestly not sure what other places have better Katsu in general...? We'll find out eventually for a clear winner. Oh yeah. My server was the only guy working in the front but he was nice and was able to ring me up with those portable phone point of sale systems... more places should just carry that honestly. My biggest gripes is the portion size. Maybe I just eat too much but one cutlet isn't going to make me full. If you do come here, expect to order another dish or an appetizer. Otherwise, very nice casual ambient place to stop if you want something quick. read more

The care and love for the fried cutlets is definitely done with love. The green options and miso need the same amount of love. First for me. Calamari, chicken, pork, and corn(?) with truffle oil. Service was personal. Not much to look at but a nice meal is what I wanted. Ask for the house soy sauce. After a Spa day this was a great option for food. read more
The service here is quick and fast. We ordered food and it was fairly quick for the food to get to our table. They brought us dishes and spoons for kids as well. I ordered the -curry chicken rice and it was not something I would recommend. It did not have much taste to it. -Miso soup was a bit salty - Crispy chicken and rice were good and it was a big dish so deff. recommending that! - The space was not big enough for large party. - Corn cheese was the best thing that I tried here :) - The food were presented very well. Maybe when I come next time, I can try something else . read more

Probably my favorite spot to get some good katsu. Highly recommend checking this place out if you can! Kazone is a small restaurant, but with a pretty large menu! And their service is super quick. We tried their dumplings, hyped cheese katsu, and rosu katsu. I was super excited to try their cheese katsu as I always see incredible pictures of the cheese pulls! Unfortunately, I thought it was a bit overhyped and a bit greasy. But the rosu katsu I highly recommend! The breading was light and the color was golden and perfect! It comes with sides and dipping sauces. I definitely will be back to try their other dishes :) read more
