Maria the owner is a great seamstress! Quick and reasonably priced! I won't use anyone else and I have a 20 minute drive here!

Didn't have good luck here. Sizing poor and quality was just OK. She's a lovely woman and I wish her well, but I won't be back.

Was visiting California and needed a good seamstress that can turn it around fast and Nati, the owner, hemed my pants in 20 minutes!

Freedom Brides - One of the many dresses I tried one!

My experience with Freedom Brides was a rollercoaster--starting with excitement, turning extremely…read morestressful, and ending with mixed feelings. While I found my dream dress quickly and initially received great service, the alteration process became unexpectedly costly, confusing, and emotionally exhausting. I found the perfect wedding dress right away. Jenny was warm and welcoming, and I purchased the gown for $500, with an additional $200 quoted for alterations (sleeves, length, and back adjustment). I was thrilled. A month before the wedding, I scheduled a fitting and discovered the sleeves no longer fit. Jenny re-measured my arms and confirmed my measurements hadn't changed. She admitted the situation was baffling, as only the lower part of the sleeves had been altered. I trusted her expertise and didn't anticipate that the cost of correcting this would fall on me. I returned for a second fitting on 5/7 but Jenny had a personal emergency, so she was not prepared and nothing on dress was changed and she meant to cancel me but for some reason I did not receive that message so I showed up, a 35 min drive one way. I was scheduled for a 3rd fitting on 5/14--just five days before my wedding. At that fitting, I was shocked to find completely new sleeves from a different dress, with a different pattern, attached without my consent. The back of the dress was also still incomplete. The unexpected change made me anxious, but I remained understanding and asked if some original sleeve elements could be reintroduced to maintain a cohesive look. Jenny agreed to add lace back at no extra charge. Then, on 5/16--two days later--I was blindsided by a $682.50 invoice. Jenny described the work as a "reconstruction project," citing hourly charges for the seamstress's work on the waistband, sleeves, back, fittings, corset, and more. At no point had this cost been communicated, and I had not agreed to such extensive work but ultimately it had to be done if I wanted a dress at all. Jenny referenced posted shop policies, but my unchanged measurements and lack of prior notice made the charges feel unfair. She insisted she was doing me a favor , that I should be grateful for all the work and gave me an example of a similar bride whose arm muscles grew over a weekend of moving out. I felt rushed and cornered into paying the full amount without reviewing the invoice in detail. She also warned that one more invoice would follow for that week's remaining work. Jenny said she had to leave town and delegated final coordination to the seamstress. On 5/17--just two days before the wedding--I met the seamstress to pick up the dress. She did a great job reapplying some original sleeve elements, and I was happy with the result. Jenny had promised to send the final invoice that day, but I received it a week later: an additional $341.25. She noted she'd waived charges for her own time, implying the total could have been higher. After the wedding, I carefully reviewed both invoices and found numerous inconsistencies: charges for fittings (advertised as free), work from dates I was unaware of, and charges Jenny had previously promised to waive amongst other details. I emailed her with my concerns and offered to pay a portion of the second invoice. To her credit, she responded by dismissing the invoice entirely, which I genuinely appreciated. The end result: a beautiful dress, but an experience marked by unnecessary stress, miscommunication, and surprise charges. Brides--be cautious. Ask detailed questions, confirm all pricing in writing, clarify what constitutes "adjustments," and plan fittings well in advance. Good luck, and happy wedding! Thank you, Jenny and team, for your efforts and for ultimately ensuring I had a wedding dress for my special day.

I was looking for something less traditional, in my budget and also my timeline was getting short. Jenny was so wonderful and understanding. I showed some photos of what I wanted, we picked out swatched and colors etc. She was always timely getting back to me or letting me know next steps. And she was able to help make my dress dreams come true within my budget (under $1000)! I'm so happy I came to freedom brides!

It pains me to write this because I wish nothing more than to have had the wonderful experience…read moremany people on here had. I specifically chose Miryana because of the reviews I read on here. I dropped off my wedding gown a week ago. I had little time bc we spontaneously decided to get married. She assured me she would have it done. Come yesterday afternoon, I picked up my gown and was horrified at what I saw. She even told me not to try on again bc "it was beautiful." I trusted her. Unfortunately that was not the case. The hem looks like my toddler cut it (please see photos). My straps were uneven. I went back this morning in tears. I requested a partial refund and she asked if I was crazy, that she did not work for free. She begged for me to let her fix it. She even started cutting more at the bottom with scissors as my gown lay on the floor. I asked her to please stop. We leave tomorrow morning for our wedding destination and I did not feel at all comfortable leaving my gown with her again. I will now have to pay someone else to try and amend what has been done which will be difficult due to time constraints. I am horrified and have submitted a dispute with my bank. I would like to believe she means well but if you cannot deliver what you guarantee then please just don't accept the job. I'm heartbroken. It might very well be that it is time fir her to sit back and enjoy life. I was also unsettled by her begging not to leave her a bad review and telling me she was "a little old lady." I felt pressured not to leave a bad review however after much thought decided it was important to share my experience.

If it were solely up to me, I would get married in yoga pants and a ponytail...but we make sacrifices for the person we love. Pros of my visit: Plenty of parking, even in the back. The store has a large selection. The front of the store has formal dress, quinceañera dresses, and even some wedding accessories. The wedding gowns are in the back, sorted by size. Some of them are NWT (new with tags), but most are pre-owned and gently used. There are name brands there. I saw a few Maggie Sotero dresses. No pushy salespeople, friendly and welcoming owner. Cons: The dressing rooms are small and there's no air circulation. Expect to get a workout trying on dresses. You go through the dresses yourself and pull off the rack. I sort of expected a little more since they advertise offering appointments to try on wedding dresses. Walk-ins are accepted too....not sure why you need an appointment for since you're going through the gowns yourself. The prices...woah. I know how consignment works- everyone needs to make a profit (seller and the store), but I've seen brand new dresses for less. Worth a trip if you're just browsing. 3 stars.
