This lady is very nice very wonderful. She does amazing job. I'm 52 so as you know, everything I buy is too long for me and I bring it in and if you you ask her if she can finish it early since it's just a ham job other jobs will take her a little longer. She's on the shop forever and it's just her and she doesn't a wonderful job so if you ever need something and by the way, very inexpensive thanks Nada. read more

I had two of the same shirts in different colors that needed to be shortened. One was hemmed perfectly. The other was cut so short the pockets were sticking out of the bottom of the shirt making it unwearable. She refused to correct the hem, or shorten the pockets, or give me my money back. She indicated she never makes mistakes. What? My shirt is completely wrecked! read more

Service Requested: I've had different jackets, coats and pants to be fixed and Nada does a great job Quality : Excellent Value: Affordable, I've gone to different dry cleaners and had quotes around town & much more expensive Notes: It's a sole seamstress, who has been doing it for many years. Her and her husband run the business but she's the expert and does a great job. First time there. I thought the cstomer service was lacking but I realized we all have different personalities and I embraced the difference, I find Nada to be a sweet lady that takes pride in her work. read more

Rude as hell. All about being righteous and talking down to people. Work was slow and not the quality you expect Never go there. Ben's is soooo much better read more

I was happy to discover Nada's alterations. Her work us impeccable and her prices are quite reasonable. I would highly recommend her!

I usually don't leave reviews but I cannot keep this to myself and would hate for anyone else to go through the same thing. Yesterday on 4/30/2024 I showed up to Nada's Alterations and was cussed out and degraded by the owners. I took a dress in on April 12th to get the length hemmed. Nada was not rude during my first encounter with her. She suggested I altered the straps as well so I agreed. I picked up the dress the following day on the 13th. When I put the dress on at home, it was completely messed up. Keep in mind that all I had gone in for was the straps and the length. The zipper was now not aligned but rather at a weird angle with a weird bump through the inside of the dress. The dress also has a slit on the left leg and the slit was now much higher than it was when I took it in. Yesterday on 4/30/2024, I went in to let them know the issues I was having with the dress and before I could finish explaining my concerns, Nada raised her voice at me and told me that she did nothing wrong and it was all my fault. I calmly asked her to please take a look at the dress so that she knew what I was talking about about. She finally took a look at the dress and tried showing me how everything was in its "original stitching". I told her I didn't know what she did with the dress besides what I had asked for, but I was not satisfied with the work. I kindly asked her to take a look and try adjusting what was wrong and she refused to. I showed her the images that I have posted on here and showed her where the problem areas were. She still refused to fix it and continued to blame me. She went on to tell me that it must have been weight that I had gained and I no longer fit in the dress and that was the reason it looked that way. I have no idea how this is possible when I picked up the dress the following day. At this point, she was very loud and rude. She said she has done over 4000 dresses and everyone loves her work .. now that I have read the reviews, I highly doubt that. I told her I did not care about any other dress besides my own and all I wanted was for it to be fixed. She continued to insult me by saying I needed money and that was the reason I was there. Nada told me to go buy another dress or to take it to someone else. This was a $200 dress that I bought and paid an additional $85 to be altered (more liked ruined) by Nada. She asked if I wanted my money back so I said yes. This is when her husband got very rowdy with me. He stood up and called me a stupid b**** along with many other lovely words. He told me I was stupid and to get out of the place. Nada continued her insults by telling me I have no "marbles" while pointing to her head and asking me why I do not understand anything. I kept my cool but they both kept insulting and yelling at me. I asked him to please stop calling me names and to not raise their voices at me and to please hear me out. At this point, I could not finish a complete sentence without being interrupted or being talked over. The husband was so aggressive that I decided to leave because I really thought he was going to hurt me at some point because he just kept getting closer and closer to me while yelling derogatory words. Keep in mind that I showed up by myself. I also asked them to provide me with a copy of my receipt and they were not able to do so either. The day that I dropped off my dress they had also told me to bring cash. Which now in hindsight I think is a little weird. Since I had taken the dress in on short notice, I assumed that perhaps she had made a mistake on her stitching. I would not have minded her owning up to a mistake and simply fixing it. I did not walk in expecting to be harassed. I would much rather expected them to be more understanding and willing to cooperate at minimum. Now that I've gone through many other reviews I see that this is not unusual behavior from them both. I do not understand how a business owner can be so cruel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Nada and her husband are completely unprofessional, racist, and very rude. Do not trust this place nor the owners. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

Nada is fantastic. She's been doing this work since the year we landed on the moon. And her results are out of this world. Don't pay any attention to the one star reviews - someone has an axe to grind that is unfounded. Please support this local seamstress and small business. I've been delighted wtih every alternation she has ever done. read more

I love Nada. She does a great job for alterations. She has done so many dresses for me. My son came in to alter the length of his pants for prom and she gave great suggestions to take in the waist which fit great. He looked sharp. She is my go to lady for alterations read more

Rude owners. Very bad quality work. Unprofessional behavior and vocabulary. Go elsewhere !

I've been going to Nada for more than 20 years simply because I've never found a better seamstress. I once made the mistake of going to another seamstress in Rancho Bernardo when Nada was on vacation. I had read some good reviews about the place but sadly I should have waited until Nada returned. The RB place ruined my gorgeous 1940's vintage jacket. When Nada returned from vacation I brought her the jacket. She grimaced and told me she would try her best to fix it. I picked it up one week later and could not believe the job she did. It reminded me of the TV show Botched, where the 2 plastic surgeons perform miracles on previous botched surgeries. Nada transformed my botched jacket into a vintage work of art. I'll never go anywhere else. read more

I wouldn't even give this place a one star I'd give this place a -0 star. The workers are disrespectful!!!unprofessional and definitely don't know what they're doing. The owners definitely need to retire. They don't know what they're doing. read more

This place deserves 0 stars!! Horrible experience, would not recommend this business. Save yourself an insult & literal disrespect. She doesn't care about her work, she wants your money in exchange of messy, unfinished work. Including her husband that will get physically & verbally aggressive. She will do the bare minimum to hems and sewing & will send you away in a very rude and disrespectful way. Making comments about women's body shapes & sizes when her work doesn't come out right, or anything that has to do with money asking for a refund for her work and when it comes to paying which both times for me has been CASH ONLY because "she doesn't know how to run a credit card machine". Again save yourself a horrible experience I would NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

Nada AND her husband are two of the most irrational, illogical, emotional and irate people that I have ever been unfortunately acquainted with in my entire life! The quality of work here, number one, is horrific. There is NO quality whatsoever. These people will COMPLETELY ruin your clothing piece(s) and then lie, act like it never happened, blame you AND THEN still charge you for their dramatically bad "work" If that is not bad enough, the second that you try to communicate anything with them, that they do not like nor want to hear, like how your dress was completely demolished, Nadas husband will get unusually emotional and react like a child. An immature "adult" child. He will yell cuss words and really nasty words at you, all while he advances toward you to try and scare and or intimidate you so that you will leave. That BOY sits at the counter, like a dog sits at a junk yard. These people refuse to return your money even after you can prove they did horrible damage to your belongings. Nada and her husband are disgusting people and they won't ever be getting NADA from me! Please please listen to me and the other reviews, take your business elsewhere. If you care about your items and yourself, DO NOT go here it makes me sick, SICK to even HAVE to click a star to submit this. read more

I keep wondering what I did so wrong to upset this woman. The first time I used Nada's Alterations she was very friendly and accommodating. She altered my pants last minute for me and I gave her more money than she asked for as a thank you for the last minute request. Today 2/15/24 I went in to get several things altered. I'm 5 foot tall so most things I buy need alterations. I thought I found my one stop shop. Finally a place I can go to for all of my alterations! Boy was I WRONG! She has obviously been burned by people not paying her because that is all she kept saying to me. She mentioned how expensive it would be if I were to get all the things I wanted altered at once. Then when I tried on just one of the dresses she grabbed the bottom of, it flung it out and said "It's going to cost you $25 to hem this dress" If that's something I can afford. Again, I am not sure what gave her any impression that I couldn't afford to pay for my garments to be altered. That's why I'm brining them to her! She finally sent me away and told me to go somewhere else. Again, I was very nice to her. I smiled when I walked in and tried to make conversation with her all to be greeted VERY rudely and sent away. I drove 30 minutes to bring my garments to her and ended up going 10 minutes from my home to get my garments altered. I usually don't write negative reviews because I don't want to interrupt  anyones business; however, this woman obviously doesn't need the business because she just turned away hundreds of dollars for no reason what so ever. I am so very disappointed and still on the hunt for a great alterations location :(. read more

I will never recommend this business! I normally do not ever leave negative reviews to account for people sometimes having an off day, but I have never been treated so blatantly rudely before. My daughter and I have used this business for alterations twice before, and although Ms Nada wasn't overly friendly, she was professional. Yesterday, my 16 year old daughter and I were bringing in a couple of long gowns to shorten for a wedding as well as additional items my daughter needed mended. I asked my daughter to head in first so she could get started first since she had more items, while I quickly responded to a text that I just saw when I parked. When I walked into the shop, I hear my daughter responding to Ms Nada that she doesn't have her shoes for her long gown yet but that she was specifically wearing boots with heels so the height would be comparable. Actually, I was doing the same - I also wore heeled boots since I hadn't bought new shoes either. Ms Nada said what if she makes the alteration and it's wrong? I said we would take full responsibility (knowing full well my daughter wouldn't get shoes any higher than what she was currently wearing). Ms Nada still didn't want to do it, so I said ok fine so I told my daughter let's just have her do the mending of the other items, and if we're in a time crunch buying new shoes, let's go to the other tailor we sometimes use - and that's when Ms Nada started shouting/screaming repeatedly at us to leave! My daughter and I were so shocked!! What? Are we not allowed to go to another tailor if you don't want to do that particular job since we don't have the exact shoes? We left the store quite mad by her rudeness. Once we got inside the car, I asked my daughter if anything happened prior to my arrival into the store. My daughter said Ms Nada had already been rude to her by her tone of voice, and what she said. My daughter said when she walked in the store she was awkwardly carrying an armful load of items she wanted mended, and the long gown. Ms Nada asked my daughter what she work she wanted done, my daughter said didn't respond for maybe 5 seconds because she was focused on trying to sort through her armful of stuff, when Ms Nada said "do you even speak English?" What?! How rude!! My daughter is a mix of Asian and German. She definitely looks like a mix but predominantly Asian. My daughter decided to go on Yelp to see if other customer had similar experiences, and apparently we are not the only ones. We obviously do NOT recommend this business! read more

She did a very good job. A good business support. She is a local, hard-working woman!!

Nada always does a fantastic job... I have had several pair of pants taken in at the waistband and they fit perfectly now! I have also had several pairs of pants hemmed to the perfect height. She has even fixed several belt loops because I can never seem to remember not to pull my pants up by them and rip them off. Her prices are super reasonable and she always has them done on time. She also lets me prepay, but you don't have to and can pay when you pick up your items. Cash only. read more

I stopped by today to take a sweater to get fixed, her and her husband were there and they didn't let me finish explaning what I was telling them because they started screaming and had a bad attitude towards me right away. Overall I had the worst experience, they were rude, disrespectful, and racist towards me. (The place also smelt horrible) read more

I wouldn't recommend coming here. I've had to many instances where she doesn't do specific work. I asked her to taper my pants and she says "it takes too long". Ok... that's fine. But just want to give others a heads up to not waste your time here. read more

I've gone to Nada to hem my pants and then shorten a bridesmaid dress. She does amazing work and I could not even tell where her seams were - they are practically invisible. Her prices are very good. I don't know how those other reviewers thought she was rude - she was very nice to me! She was straight and to the point! read more

Nada is simply THE BEST seamstress!! I brought her 5 pairs of pants to alter because a previous local seamstress couldn't do them because the pants are made of a fancy stretch material with difficult stitching. By far the most unprofessional interaction I've ever had with a tailor. Terrible experience, I was insulted. I can't speak to the quality of her work because we didn't get that far unfortunately. The first time I arrived, it was only a man who was playing solitaire and said," She's not here. I can't help you." A few weeks later when I tried again, I called several times to make sure she was open for business. I brought a whole bag of things in and started going through them, the first was a a sweater with a hole, she was rude and asked me," when do you need them by, I'm going out of town" I told her no rush but she persisted to tell me she is very busy and doesn't have time, it was very bizarre. Nada is the most talented Tailor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I ordered a beautiful dress online and it came in late and extremely big on me. I was headed to the Marine Corps Ball and the dress was by far bigger than I anticipated it to be.
