Horrible experience the lady behind the counter has the personality of a rattlesnake, I've taken two items to this place and both times she bit my head of and told me she didn't sew that type of material. I gladly took my items elsewhere without any issues. I will never return to this place! read more

Nada is a very straightforward and friendly woman - don't mistake it for rudeness! I went to get some slacks hemmed and taken in at the waist. She told me how she would do it and how long it would take. It cost around $18 - the best price I found! When I picked it up a few days later, it looked exactly the same, except it actually fit now :) I will be going back to her for any other alterations I need. Highly recommended for price and quality. read more

3 stars: A-OK. Went in to alter 2 dress shirts and 1 dress pants. Whole process took ~10 minutes (excluding changing) for her to exact measurements. Then we scheduled a day to pick 'em up. I chose a week later because of logistics on my side. Unfortunately, I don't know how she is on rushed assignments. She is terse and very business-like at first. While getting my measurements, she explained to me that i needed to buy shirts an inch smaller in neck size. My sleeves were an inch too long but instead of altering them (and charging me ~15$) she showed me a trick to button them higher. She accepts cash only. Costed $9 to slim down my pant legs, and i think $6 for slimming down shirts. read more

The worst alterations experience I've ever had!! The lady must be bi polar because there are a few reviews that say she is the sweetest person and then there are a few people who had the same awful experience as I did!! Went to this place on a recommendation from a friend. My daughter needed her wide legged jumpsuit hemmed for her promotion. She said hello when we walked in but with the accent she sounded abrasive. I let it go because I had read a review that said she has a rude phone manner but that she was Greek and that she did a good job regardless of her cultural disposition!! Next she pinned the pants and did a little tuck on the straps. While my daughter changed out of her garment, I gave her my name and number as she wrote up a chit. I asked how much it would be. Fair question I think. She hemmed and hawed and said that if she did a cheap job, I would not come back. So finally she said $20!! $10 for the hemming and $10 for the straps! I said 'wow, just to tuck the straps?!' She flew off the handle and said it's okay for you to tuck the straps, I have to do it properly!! I felt attacked!! Omg!! I was a little freaked out! I wanted to get the heck out of there!! Besides, the little hole in the wall place stunk like BO!! She asked when I needed the garment and I said 10 days from now. So she gave me a pick up date of only one day earlier. She said it won't take me that long to do it but I'm very busy with lots of prom alterations. Basically suggesting that my little job was not as important as her others. But that she would call me if it was done earlier. Anyways, on the way home I discussed it with my daughter and we agreed that if she grew over the summer, there would be no possibility to open the straps to lengthen the body if the tailor cut the straps. So I phoned Nada and as politely as I could told her to please only do the hemming and forget about the straps. She agreed. 15 minutes later she called yelling on the phone to 'come back to pick up a drink that was spilled in the change room!!!' What she meant was that my daughter had left her hydro flask of water in the room!! Omg stressful trying to make heads or tails of what this lady says!! I sent my husband to get the bottle as I wanted nothing more to do with her!! My husband also said that she was a crazy old lady! That she went on about being very diligent about returning items people leave behind. Especially expensive water bottles!! Today was the agreed upon date for pick up and no call earlier, so I went with my daughter again. While she was in the room trying the outfit on, Nada started saying something about double pinning in her abrasive accent and started pointing a finger in my face!!! She was claiming that I had already put a pin in the pant leg and that she never puts two pins in, so I had done it and that she went with my measurements and not hers from before!! At this point I was freaking out worrying that she made them the wrong length!!! But I did not argue at all, I had not pinned anything -- she doesn't appear to understand English all that well. My daughter came out. The pants looked ok. I paid her $10 and got out of there as fast as my legs would carry me!!! I feel so rattled! The worst experience I paid $10 for!! I'll steam the outfit and hope that the cabbage smell from the shop has not transferred to the garment and I'll never ever go back there again!! I have yet to tell my friend who reccommended her about my experience!! BEWARE!! read more

Very rude! New to the area saw this place and brought in 2 pairs of pants to be hemmed. First off I like my pants almost touching the ground and looked to short after her pinning away explaing 45 years in the biz and knows the right length. I purposely bring pants at my exact hem to show how I want them. After putting them on she dropped the pins down to a longer length. Then here is where it gets crazy.. she tells me because the bottoms of one pair of pants were slightly dirty on the hem she could only hem the clean ones...wtf? She said she is allergic to the dirt? These pants are almost like new from a store that I personally run at the mall. So she wanted me to leave one pair of pants but take the others elsewhere. And let me know that Goodwill wont take dirty pants either! Lmao! Look at the tag they are $90.00 pants and I sell my clothes on Poshmark when I am done wearing them for the season. Anyhow, who has time to go to different tailors. Luckily 1 mile away is a great place...Rivers Tailors...super friendly...better price...better hours and no problem with some dust collected at the bottom of my pants! Will have them back in a few days:) read more

Nada is an amazing Macedonian lady! I don't know why some people say she is rude. She is just very honest and direct, which, as an Eastern European myself, I really appreciate. Her prices are very fair, she does quality work. She will tell you if your clothes aren't worth fixing. Most of all, she is just very cool and fun to talk to. She reminds me of my family back in Serbia. I've taken some expensive clothing to her for hemming and she's always done an excellent job. read more

Still coming to Nada's for alterations for over 10 years now. Still getting great service and fun conversation. I bring her all my new clothes, and I get honest, excellent and prompt service. It makes it worth my while to drive up there from Carmel Valley. read more

I take my pant hems and suit jacket sleeves here for alterations. Nada has always done an excellent job.

People know what they're doing and quick to advise on services needed. I needed to take in some pants at the waist and was informed that what i wanted would not look good on the final product. I was advised to alter some of the services and make the pants look better. Took some shirts in to take in the sides and she paid attention to what I wanted. The prices are better than most tailors in the area and although I have to take a drive, I'd rather come here and get inexpensive quality work than pay way too much for average service. Cash only. read more

Nada always does an unbelievable job! My family has been going to Nada's since my moms wedding. This time I entrusted her with my prom dress and didn't regret it. She did an amazing job, perfectly set to the exact length and slimmed the waist all for $70 and done in a week. You cant go wrong . However, some say that she's rude, she isn't. Nada never means to be rude it's just how she is and never means any harm. Its her personality and how she naturally is, all it takes is some getting used to. She's great at what she does and I will continue to trust her with anything else I need altered. read more

Dropped my pants off Monday for an interview I had on Thursday, pants were ready Wednesday. I was in and out of the little place both visits. She even pressed my pants so I wouldn't have to worry. Sweet lady. Wished me luck on my interview. I'm used to paying $5 for a hem where I'm from, but she did a great job for $9. read more

Nada is super awesome. She's this nice old lady from eastern Europe with years of experience and fair prices. I've been taking my pants here for hemming over the past year and have always left extremely satisfied. Pants hemming is $8 and minor alterations are usually $3. TAT is around 2-3 days but she can prioritize your alteration if need be. read more

I've been going to Nada for decades. My mom used to take me there to get all of my pants hemmed and dance costumes to be altered. Now I take my son there for all of his pants to be hemmed. I need my suit for an event next week. I haven't worn it in years, and the last time I did it had shrunk noticeably. I brought it to Nada, and it's back to the correct size, fitting well, when she said it would be ready. IIRC it was $40 to let the jacket out and $9 for the pants. I'm ecstatic that I don't have to go and spend another $700 on a new suit... unless this one shrinks again! read more

My family went to get our dresses altered for my grandmothers 90th birthday and they did a great job our dresses were altered perfectly. Service was very fast and the price was very good and reasonable. We would definitely return again and recommend. we had visited three locations previously in escondido but they were either too expensive or they wouldn't take our dresses in that amount of short notice we needed them done for that weekend. read more

Wonderful lady. Did a great job, quickly, and at a very affordable price.

Nada is a sweetheart. Perfect job with my pants and the cuffs. $9. Not going anywhere else from now on.

I have taken a variety of clothing in to Nada recently for alterations. She does such a great job and is quick and affordable. I usually drop off a few items on my days off and then pick them up the next week. I even got new ski pants shortened, and they have an extension opening to fit over ski boots and she did it perfectly. I have had zippers in shorts replaced as well as elastic in dresses. She is very affordable. She and her husband are always there and are very nice. The location is always very convenient in Escondido. read more

Racist.. please take the time to read this whole review. I was told and given a receipt saying that it would be 36 to alter 3 pairs of pants. They told me it would be ready a week from that day. Today was that day so I called as soon as they opened. I asked if my pants (under my name) were ready. They said yes they are ready come and pick them up! I showed up with a card and told it was cash only. So I went to Walgreens and picked up some cash. Came back and they said actually your pants ARENT READY come back later. So I head back home and receive a call from the lady 2 minutes later who yells very rudely, "I'm not touching your pants!! I need 30 more dollars! I'm working for a living! 36 is just too cheap! I can't do it! No way!" I tell her okay do not touch them Im coming back to pick them up and taking them elsewhere because I was told and have this receipt that says it will be 36 dollars upon pick up! She says "no no you STILL HAVE TO PAY 36 DOLLARS to pick them up!" I said There's no way, you didn't even do a single thing to my pants. And she yells " FINE!" And hangs up. I come back and am given the pants and they are both livid I walk into the door. She then begins to yell at me, " I WORK FOR A LIVING!" I take my pants and begin to walk out and they yell "GO TO MEXICO!" Now I am just so dumbfounded that I don't even know what to say to them at this point. Go to Mexico?? One of the rudest things I have ever heard out of the mouth of any human being whether they meant it as a hurtful comment or not. I encourage everybody reading these reviews to take your business elsewhere, as I would never usually do because I love to support local businesses even if they do mess up every once in a blue moon. I just cannot believe the way this whole situation was taken care of. read more

This lady is unbelievably rude. Perhaps I caught her on a bad day based on other reviews but I will never set foot in this dingy place again. I brought in my little black dress to be taken in but wanted to know ahead of time how much it would cost. I told her I needed about an inch taken in from the sides and hemmed up 3 inches. She yells at me saying "how do i know how much before I do the work? I just wanted to get my dress altered, Lady, not to be treated like a 2 year old. I came in and dropped off my leather vest to get my patches sewed for my biker club, I told nada exactly how everything needed to be, she pinned everything and said no problem. The next day when I came to pick it up everything was sewed crooked I mentioned it to her and she said she wasn't able to to it straight because it would have broken her machine. After I requested my money back her husband got all in my face yelling, telling me to get my patches and get the hell out. After she cut all of my patches off I was given back my money. Do not go here they are very rude and don't do good work. read more

I've been to this place many times. For the most part, I am satisfied with the results. I don't mind the lady's abrupt personality. It's cultural thing for some people. What bothers me the most and what will probably push me to go somewhere else is the fact that I've almost always had to 'argue' with her to have things done my way. I appreciate the opinions but when it's constant, it's very annoying. I don't need to tell her why I want to have my clothes done certain way. I come with specific details I need to do and I never ask for opinions. If it is not something she could do, she could just tell me so and I'd go somewhere else. I like my dresses to err on the longer side. It's easier to 'fix' with all sort of heel options but every. single. time, it is barely the length I want or it's shorter (loses the elegant appeal I am looking for when it shows my shoes). Again, for the most part, I dealt with it. My last dress was the same-shorter. I saw her marking the length with my heels on and it looked 'fine' then. I wanted to give her the benefits of the doubt one last time, but when I received it, it was shorter. I wanted to wear the dress with heels and occasionally sandals, but it's short that I can only wear with casual sandals now. I am so upset. It I wanted to call her to complaint but there is nothing to be fixed when it's already shorter. I am looking to go somewhere else now. read more

Nada is not rude. She is simply direct in her Eastern European way. If it's not something she can do well or within her expertise, then she shoots straight and says no. But for things like taking in men's slacks, hemming slacks, shortening sleeves, etc. she cannot be beat. Her work is accurate and quality every single time. She won't make over you and be ooey-gooey but I would not say she's rude, either. One time I took in curtains that I wanted rings sewn into and she said she would not do it -- she does clothes, not drapes. BUT -- she took the time to show me how to do it myself and was very patient and told me to stop in any time if I needed more help. She's just direct. She can't be beat for quality and price. read more

She's great !! Very sweet and helpful! ! And she also listens... if you need it done fast let her know and she'll finish on time :)

This lady does not know how to treat potential clients. I went in for a a broken zipper on my work pant. She turned me away said she couldnt fix it. Very rude lady sorry I never waste my time doing reviews but this just ticked me off. read more
