I could say that I've never felt this relaxed at a bar/cafe before due to the effects of Kava on my nervous system, but that would not be entirely accurate. I would have felt quite relaxed here without having tried any Kava before due its ambiance and people -- both patrons and bartenders (Kaiden and Bianca are genuinely nice and caring people, you can just tell by chatting with them), everyone seems to take part in the "Kava culture": relaxed, open-minded, community-oriented. It was my first time at this place and trying Kava. Kaiden offered me a complimentary "shell" for my first visit, which I of course accepted. I describe it as a mouth-numbing, stronger version of natural Kombucha. It made me feel very relaxed and a bit lethargic, but all in a good way. Kaiden explained to me that the most common effect of Kava is relaxation but that people react differently to it. Kaiden is very knowledgeable and took his time to explain everything on the menu to me and answer all my questions. He also said that they host some cool events and advertise them on their Instagram account. This hour spent at Kava Culture Kava Bar was so positive and memorable that I now recommend this place to everyone who'd like to sip on an exquisite drink (they also have other drinks like Elixir and Kratom), chill, work, study, meet new people, paint (they host Sip&Paint on Monday evenings), or entertain (Open Mic Sundays) themselves. Not to mention the gorgeous decor and cool lightning. I plan to return.

Beautiful Cozy spot with amazing drinks and lovely people. There's a Paint and Sip that is always so much fun.

This place is a whole vibe. I love the esthetic here, it's so kute. The employees are always super friendly. I love to just relax here while enjoying Kava.

Beautiful Kava cafe! If you're looking for a nice selection and variety this is the perfect Kava bar to try... I'm giving them 5 stars... also if you're looking for food, this area has nice restaurants to choose from. We will return when we're back in town.

Okay, listen. I love the drinks at Kava Culture. The kava concoctions are like liquid wizardry. They are imaginative, delicious, and somehow capable of turning a rough day into a mellow vibe fest. It's like sipping on a chill pill with a side of tropical vacation. Bravo, Kava Culture, bravo. But then there's the espresso. Oh, espresso. If the kava menu is Beyoncé, the espresso menu is like that friend who only wears beige and always orders plain oatmeal. We're talking vegan milk + syrup. That's it. Like, come on. You've already proven you're masters of drink alchemy--why are the coffee drinks so aggressively...meh? Sometimes in the morning, I'm not quite ready to dive into the magical world of kava (even the white strain, bless its heart). I think, "Hey, I'll grab a latte instead." But when I asked if they could jazz up an espresso drink with one of their creative seasonal combos, they said no. A hard no. Like, "Nice try, dreamer, but take your vanilla latte and go." (Not an actual quote but same vibes) So, I guess I'm heading next door for coffee. But don't worry, Kava Culture, I'll be back once my morning self transforms into my evening self and is ready for your enchanted potions. Maybe one day you'll give the espresso menu a glow-up and I'll never have to leave. Until then, I'm living a two-stop beverage life. P.S. Still love y'all. Just...do better with the beans.

Best Kava bar in Florida. Anna is so delightful! The decor is out of this world. Highly recommend

One of the coolest new places in Downtown. Drinks taste amazing as well. If you haven't tried Kava before I would 100 percent recommend. The bartenders were able to give us samples to try and helped us decide what to order! This place is also perfect for groups to meet up at. Literally can't stop raving about the place, finally something chill and laid back and unique to go to

Tony D.

Very friendly staff the vibes in there are unparalleled, it's like the coolest experience. Much needed in the downtown area.

The vibe here is dark, intimate, and gives off a chic city nightlife feel. They offer both a full cocktail menu and a happy hour menu. They also offer a Thai tapas menu, which we unfortunately didn't get to try because we were already stuffed from dinner at Talay, but the menu looked amazing and gives us another reason to come back! The drinks are unique, creative, and very well crafted. We ordered the Celestial Bloom, and it was absolutely delicious! It was beautifully balanced and left us wanting to come back just to try more of their cocktails. Definitely a great spot for drinks before or after dinner!

The hidden door which you push is on the right side. Once inside the bar it is super small inside. The tables along the wall are squished together. I think you're better off at the bar. I could see lots of people bringing dates here. First up, I tried a $17 Tree of Life. The drink the bartender made me was maybe 2 sips. There's a giant ice cube and a bamboo leaf or something and very little drink to drink. Not sure what to make of this because as soon as I was deciding if I liked it or not, it was gone. Wouldn't order this again. Second, I tried a $17 Adam & Eve. I wish the matcha was much stronger. There's a place in Tampa called Tori Bar that has a super duper matcha tasting cocktail. This one was much lighter. It was fine, not my favorite. Maybe I'd bring a date here sometime, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Went to celebrate a birthday and the service was surprisingly quick for how busy they were on a Friday evening, the servers as well as managers AND the hostess all checked in regularly with a smile and small talk when prompted. We were especially impressed that servers not tending to our table placed orders/knew of orders and communicated with the waitress serving us. Most restaurants struggle to keep orders ready with the designated server, this place EXCELLED with communication. We all enjoyed a variety of different cocktails, all of which were delicious (however a bit pricy for some) and all partook in appetizers and entrees. ALL of the food was delicious and had fair portions, couldn't say enough good things. This place is a bit cramped but not horribly, the decor is cute and everything is clean :) Most importantly, to celebrate the birthday we were brought a tres leches cake that paired very nicely with the pastelitos and cafecito service! The cake was DELICIOUS, the coffee was wonderful, and the experience was a highlight for a busy weekend of festivities! 10 out of 10 will be coming back again! :)

Instead of ordering from a menu, I trusted him to craft something based on my vibe and somehow, he nailed it. Not once, but twice. It was like he scanned my palate and delivered exactly what I didn't even know how to ask for. Easily the best cocktail I've ever had made for me. Everyone I was with had the same experience. Drinks felt personalized, balanced, and thoughtfully executed. It's rare to find that level of intuition behind the bar. On the food side, I tried the corn ribs, which were a standout in their own way. Unique, flavorful, and an easy choice if you're a fan of corn. They worked perfectly as a shareable appetizer. The overall vibe leans toward a more decadent, intimate experience. It's the kind of place you go when you want to slow down, have meaningful conversation, and enjoy something crafted with care. If you're looking for a cocktail spot that goes beyond the menu and delivers something truly tailored, this place is special.

Service was good though. I must have ordered the wrong things this time, and I was there for happy hour. The crab rangoon squash blossom was kind of fishy. It was a stunner, but this is not the app for you if you're not all about the yolk. It was yolk on yolk on yolk. I wanted something to brighten it up, like a pickled veggie or pickled onions maybe. I've had better taste experiences at The Monroe before, but this wasn't one of them, unfortunately.

That said, parking can be hard to find. I've also been here during the day time one time and their kitchen was closed for a couple hours for serving food, so I left. Because of this, when I arrived yesterday, I immediately asked them what time their kitchen closed and their kitchen closed an hour before close. So keep that in mind as well. I sat at the bar. Service was good. Food was amazing! I got their dumplings, miso toast, risotto, and their creme brûlée. Everything was so fantastic, except the miso toast. It was good but I wouldn't get it again. The crème brûlée was so amazing! The chocolate espresso beans were 10/10. I ALMOST tipped them 50% of my bill! So as a server, thankfully I caught this. In the very back of their menu, it says an automatic 20% gratuity is applied to every check, which is kinda crazy to be honest. I was already going to tip him 30%. So it would have been 20% and 30% tip. So be very aware that they're already applying the tip to everyone's bill and it was just me, one person! I would definitely come back here but just keep in mind their kitchen isn't always open, parking can be hard to find at times, and the auto gratuity.

I just apparently still believe that when oysters and $47 pasta appear on a menu, one should be able to hear the person sitting across the table. To be fair, the service throughout the evening was excellent and attentive, and the bourbon drinks ("Filthy Behavior") were genuinely good. We also ordered the croquettes, Caesar salad bites, 12 oysters, the spicy rigatoni with lump crab, golden rice with shrimp, and a discounted prosecco because it was oyster/prosecco Tuesday. The pasta itself was cooked properly, and the golden rice ended up being the least salty thing we ate, which unfortunately made it the standout. Everything else tasted as though the kitchen had recently suffered a tragic misunderstanding involving seawater. At one point we asked if the music was usually this loud because we genuinely couldn't hear each other speak. Our server kindly said she would check on it, but either management said no or the DJ entered a blood oath with the sound system. Conversation had become theoretical. Maybe this is the vibe now. Maybe dining is no longer about the food and meaningful conversation, with lighting so oddly bright--less intimate dinner, more "the club is closing, please locate your belongings"--while paying $220 for two people with automatic gratuity included. For me, the whole experience felt wildly overpriced--ordinary food dressed in extraordinary.
