I called initially because The key of my jeep was worn down so much that it wouldn't turn in the ignition. And of course the dealership is closed on Sundays and isn't open until 7 AM Monday morning. Somehow I locked myself out of my bedroom. It being a holiday, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get a hold of a locksmith. Katz keys had to come to my house on an emergency call. I had lost both sets of keys to my husband's truck and we were leaving in the truck on vacation that night. So you can imagine I was quite distraught! Katz came within the hour. They were very kind and professional and charged me less than I was quoted by AAA. They made me a new key and reprogrammed my remote. I had to buy another remote which they did not have in stock. We had a very old front door 3 lock system with handle that needed to be fixed or replaced. We texted photos to Joshua to see what he thought we should do. He texted us back with a possible hard to find replacement that cost around $400, but he said he would try to fix the old lock first before we spent that much to replace it. We also needed our 2 locks on the back door to be rekeyed. Well not only was he able to fix the old lock but he took all 4 locks apart, cleaned them, lubricated them, put them back together and rekeyed all of them with extra copies for our tenants, and the final cost was only $150. We also needed car keys and fobs for our old 2004 Buick. The programming of them took a while but Joshua was very patient and professional throughout the entire job. If you're locked out, CALL KATZ'S! Friendly, honest, quick, great price, and great service! 100% would recommend! While heading out on our nightly walk, we forgot the keys before closing the door behind us. We got locked out of the house late at night with no way in, so the only way in would be through a locksmith. After calling several locksmiths, I called Katz, and I'm really glad I did! Other locksmiths on the phone gave us a wishy washy price range, and said they wouldn't know until they got to the house (coming to the house would mean there's a service fee for coming to the house, and then on top of that, an unknown price for the labor). After giving Katz the brand of the door lock over the phone, Katz gave me a straightforward answer on how much it was, which made me feel at ease that I wasn't getting ripped off. In addition, it was BY FAR the best deal out of all the locksmiths I called. I read online of other locksmiths giving an approximate time, and arriving way past the ETA and leaving their customers waiting for a long time. Katz gave me an approximate time and arrived within that time frame. Given that it was a pretty chilly night, it was definitely appreciated. Fingers crossed that I won't get locked out of the house again anytime soon, but if I do, I'd definitely call Katz's Lock & Keys again. read more
