Absolutely zero chance of my family ever going back to this place. Was talked into using a script I never needed after knowing I was already out of contacts. Had to purchase new glasses to hold me over while I waited on the temporary test set.. Then immediately called them saying I wanted my old script ordered. Waited 4 weeks on my contacts, just to find out they were never ordered. After spending 600.00 on glasses and other test, I have a pair of glasses. Freaking sweet!! read more

Hero to Zero in 24 Hours. Kept an appointment with the Katy vision center and the initial visit was fairly prompt, cordial, friendly and communications seemed good. The eye examination was first rate and doctor listened and performed a complete vision exam. Spoke with the staff after the exam and received a quote for new lenses and told them I wanted to keep my current glasses as a spare and would bring in an old set of frames for the new lenses. The quote was reasonable. Brought the older frames in the next day and had to sit with another staff member who quoted me $300+ for lenses to fit the frames. Told her I had bought lenses the day before and was dropping off a frame set and just needed the new lenses installed in the frames they were ready in 7 to 10 days. I was then told that they quoted lenses for the current frame set I was wearing even though I specifically said the day before I wanted to keep my current glasses intact as a spare. No dice. The order was put in less than 24 hours ago and no changes accepted so the lenses purchased would be for my current frames. As I wanted to keep my current glasses as a working spare I ordered new frames from my previous eye doctor spending another $130. I contacted them with the information about the new frames for the lenses and was informed that if they broke the frames in the process of taking out 2 screws installing the lenses and replacing the screws they were not responsible for any damage. During these conversations I was also informed they misquoted the lenses and I owed another $48. I picked up the lenses when they were ready and installed them myself in the new frames. A positive from this adventure is that the prescription is correct and has improved my vision from the previous prescription. If you just want a good vision review and prescription this could be your place. Beware of their quoting process and understand the staff's communication threshold needs improvement. Double to triple check your input to them before accepting and paying for the product. They are all very cordial though. read more

Very nice place to go if you are in the katy area and need glasses. Very friendly helpful staff that make it a pleasure to come back. Great with kids too. Called looking for a basic eye exam. Need to do it annually for work. Takes 5 minutes. Wouldn't do a walk in due to covid but was able to schedule an appointment (which does not make a lot of sense because the person still shows up). Called on a Thursday or Friday and next available was Monday at 11:30. Made the appointment, showed up on the verbally agreed date to a locked door and a number to call. When I called they said it was scheduled for next Monday which would not work for me. Said we could change it to 2 but I had a prior commitment. Was told that it was 2pm or schedule another day. I had an hour window that I was unavailable but the rest of the day I could accommodate. I didn't screw up the appointment-be a little more flexible. read more

Dr. Truitt took time to answer our questions in plenty of detail, as well as to provide options for eyewear while also not trying to suggest that we purchase more than was needed. Fantastic all around! Fantastic staff, service, and most importantly vision care. I've been all around Katy, and Houston, and ohhh also that horrible place near-by that all the seniors get roped into for their eye shots. Forget every bad experience you're ever had for an eye exam. Dr. Truitt and Dr. Brown are the best, the kindest, and the most knowledgeable eye doctors you can get. They have the latest most modern equipment for testing, and eye exams. I always get the image of the inside of my eye so it's compared to my last visit a year ago for changes. You can choose dilation, I like the image for comparison. I like that both Dr. Truitt and Dr. Brown explain the image, the blood vessels and what it means, macular and possible clogs with pigment on my cornea etc,. and what to look for in the future. I like the thorough time they spend with me, asking about other health issues that might affect my eyes. If you don't want a doctor asking you about health issues that affect eye sight - ok maybe here's not right for you, but you want someone that thinks eye sight is linked to overall health, medications, and lifestyle - this is the place!!! Wait times are minimal, breezy, barely enough time to look at glasses frames. Bobbie, the eye assistant is fabulous!!! I can't say enough about her, her way of making it easy going though the machine exams and eye tickler, super with people and genuine. She's authentic and professional and you don't find that often in doctor's offices. She is a gem. But the gems are wide spread. Katherine is another one. Katherine makes you feel like you are the only person that walked through the door. You are her only priority at that moment, and it's so refreshing to not be relegated to a sign in sheet. Katherine treats you like you deserve to be there, like it's important. Like YOU are important and her eyes and smile say it. It's amazing from what I've seen of other eye doctor offices. And honestly any office. So most important the eye exam. It's like the inside and outside of my eyes got an FBI and IRS and maybe even NASA good look. Then they threw in some Yellowstone with Kevin Costner, just for some real good scrutiny. Dr. Brown and Dr. Truitt both (I've been going here for years) explain what they see in images of your eye, if you choose that machine, and they both take so much time. They take time to get the prescription correct, as in 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, which is better? It's not a rush. And they know how eyeballs work, might not be the best at this second. Take these contacts and let me know, let's tweak if we need to. They WORK with you to find the best vision possible. I can't say enough about Dr. Truitt or Dr. Brown, or Bobbie or Katherine. Such good people, and hey I can see what I'm typing from a mile away!!! read more

Dr. Truitt and her staff have been wonderful! We found them through a friend's recommendation when my daughter developed a stye that we just couldn't resolve at home. Dr. Truitt was patient and so kind with my daughter. We first saw her in Summer 2020 when COVID protocols were still really strict and I felt safe and also welcome with their process for appointments. She had to see one of my daughter's several times for an eye infection and helped put my mind at ease and find the best treatment to protect my daughter's vision and heal her eye. She has seen both my older daughters (who are younger than 10) for eye issues and eye exams and I also have gone for an eye exam and new reading glasses. Dr. Truitt is so knowledgeable about the science of the eyes and vision and is able to explain it in both layman's terms and also to children. One of my daughters is very nervous around those she doesn't know well and Dr. Truitt was able to connect with her and talk to her about her eyes and vision and put her at ease. We are so thankful for this practice and having an eye doctor to care for our eye health and vision who obviously cares about patients. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming and making an appointment has been a pleasure. They also have a wonderful text system for making appointments, appointment reminders, etc. read more

I took my little boy here for his 1st vision exam. He was nervous about his visit and was not looking forward to the possibility of needing glasses. Horrible phone service. I called to make an appointment. The lady who answered the phone did not announce the business name, did not talk into the phone. , had a rude tone. I felt like I was interrupting her weekend gossip by calling. She put me on hold after I requested an appointment, when she came back on the line, still not talking into the phone. I felt like I wasted my time calling and it was not worth any more of my time to proceed with an appointment. read more

After getting a cataract out over a year and a half ago I tried NUMEROUS doctors to find a pair of glasses that worked. Nobody could get them right. In fact I was using my glasses I had before the surgery. So I went to KVC and we re-did a prescription and it was close. So close I almost didn't go back. At least these were close enough I didn't get headaches and could see. However because it's so convenient I made the decision to try and get it 100% correct. Glad I did because I now have the right prescription with the right material can see and frankly pretty damn happy!!!! Love the quick in and out and making a appointment is easy and I generally can get a time and date that works for me. Parking is 5 feet from the door. thank you to all the folks at KVC. I came to this location to purchase a replacement frame ( no lenses) they wanted $50 additional then all of their competitors. I ask the difference they said because the quality was better. I also asked is their any warranty I can have to replace the glasses if they broke. The young lady said No warranty everything can break. The young lady was frustrated about my questions and became rude. I ask to speak with a manager she stated they don't have one. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I'll take my business elsewhere. On arrival I was told they needed to take my picture for their "records" when I questioned this she took it anyways without my permission. An eye doctor doesn't need my photograph. After having to demand the picture be erased I left. I refuse to let people who don't need things like this make it common practice.
