BEWARE!…read more I had a terrible experience at Express Oil on Morton Ranch Road in Katy, TX 77449, and I feel the need to warn other customers before they take their vehicle there. I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change. Before the oil change, my vehicle was NOT leaking oil. My daughter was waiting in the exact same area for approximately 45 minutes, and she never saw any oil leaking from my vehicle. Immediately after leaving Express Oil and getting home, I noticed that oil was leaking from my vehicle. I contacted the location, and the manager and specialist repeatedly insisted that they did not cause the damage and took no accountability for what happened. I ultimately had to spend $410 out of my own pocket to replace the oil pan. This was extremely frustrating because the vehicle was not leaking before the oil change, and the leaking started immediately afterward. What made the situation even worse was the lack of accountability and customer service. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, I was basically left to pay for the repair myself. BEWARE! I strongly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else. My experience with Express Oil on Morton Ranch Rd in Katy was extremely disappointing, and I would NEVER return to this location. If you value your vehicle and your hard-earned money, think twice before using this location.

The shop claimed the drain plug was suddenly damaged and that I needed a brand-new oil pan. Oil pans do not randomly fail on the exact day you pull in for a service. They said to plug in a temporary, oversized plug to patch it. One week ago, I had to return to get the oil pan completely replaced, and they charged me $500. I bought this car only 6 months ago from the Land Rover Dealership. 2008 Lexus (Car 2): About two weeks ago, I brought my Lexus in for an oil change. They told me it was "too early for an oil change" and that they just "added more oil." As soon as I parked the car at home, fresh oil began leaking onto my driveway. When I brought it back to have them check the leak, the technicians claimed it was suddenly "leaking from 2 places on the engine." Mysteriously, when I got the car home again, the leaking stopped. When I pulled the dipstick to check their work, I discovered why: they had maliciously overfilled my engine by nearly a full INCH above the maximum dot. They stuffed roughly 2 extra quarts of oil into my engine to hide the fluid loss, completely ignoring the fact that driving a car overfilled by an inch will whip the oil into foam, blow out seals, and destroy a motor. This shop is dishonest. I keep a photo of the 1-inch overfilled dipstick as proof.

From the moment I walked into the location I was greeted by two gentlman who were readily available to assist me with my needs. As I approached DAVID, he greeted me with a smile early in the morning although I was extremely tired from working as a nurse the night before. I inquired about receiving an EMISSIONS test. He gathered all of my information ( INsurance card) and proceeded to provide an approximate time frame of 45 minutes. Now this was impressive to me because when you enter an establishment clearly in a work uniform it means I am going to work or coming from work. The mere fact he provided me with an estimated time shows he VALUES TIME. I accepted the estimated time frame and provided my keys. He offered me to have a seat in the waiting area and guided me to the refreshment area. I was so sleepy I sat down in those nice comfortable chairs and fell asleep. Literally before the 45 minutes I believe he was done and my car was parked near the front door so I can walk out and right to my car. You talk about service with a smile is an understatement. I am so looking forward to making sure I keep this location in mind for my car needs as well as referring them to others. Then I thought things could get no better than I receive a text from CHRIS the owner who thanked me for choosing them for my services and coming back if I needed more help. I tested them out with something small but I couldn't do it myself. They not just tell fix the problem but they told me a cheaper solution (who does that?) After a few more time of fix my car. My family only goes to them now. They never try to up sell and do what is necessary. They stand behind their work with 30day warranty.

I've been coming to this location for oil/filter changes and annual state inspections for well over 12 years, everyone is friendly. 9/10 times they get me in & out within 10-15 min for oil change so I opt to remain in my car for convenience and just drive out when they're done. For state inspection service, you will need to wait in the lobby for safety reasons and that usually takes a few min longer. I appreciate their complimentary services to check fluid levels, lights/signals and making recommendations or just giving me a heads up for replacement of normal wear & tear tires/windshield wipers. Things some people would overlook when they're too busy balancing home/work life. They don't push sales, which could be a deal breaker for customers to return. That's what I like about this place! Tyler was friendly and professional. He waved at me as I was about to drive out to inform me that he noticed my windshield wipers were torn on the side and suggested I replace them soon. The mechanic, Willie, was rude and appeared frustrated, tried to pressure me about brakes I didn't request, and repeatedly called me approximately four times back-to-back, even texting me while I was still at the shop -- luckily, I keep unknown callers on silent. They put the wrong oil (5W20 instead of the required 0W20, which is stamped on my oil cap) into my car without asking. I immediately called my usual mechanic, who confirmed that using the wrong viscosity can damage my engine. The oil filter was changed at the same time, meaning it now contains the wrong oil and should be replaced again, but the shop refused to do so. To make matters worse, the owner (I assume) tried to grab my receipt and nervously laughed when I took a picture documenting the mistake. They even left my car running with the windows down after the error was "corrected," creating a safety risk. This shop is careless, disrespectful, and clearly assumes women customers don't know anything about their cars. Women are fully capable of reading manufacturer recommendations and recognizing when something isn't right. I will never return and strongly caution others. I now have to closely monitor my vehicle to ensure it was corrected properly. Willie claimed he was "trying to help," but disregarding manufacturer recommendations is completely unacceptable. For the safety of both your vehicle and your sanity, I strongly advise going somewhere else.
