I received excellent care with Dr. McDaniel at HRC. From the beginning, she gave a lot of excellent information so I always felt informed about my choices. The whole process went smoothly and she was so warm and kind and always willing to work around my work schedule (I'm a healthcare provider as well). She truly was the best person to go through this experience with and I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. I had 1 retrieval (FYI, I'm 43/F) and got 1 normal embryo (which was better than I could hope for at my age). She always weighed the pros and cons with me of any decisions to be made (including whether to do more rounds of IVF) but never pressured me to decide one way or another. My wife and I had Dr McDaniel as our fertility doctor at HRC in Pasadena. Previously we spend 3 to 4 years trying at Kaiser. We wasted 3 to 4 years there. They did the same procedure and did not even try to change anything. During that time we mostly saw a nurse practitioner. We only saw the doctor twice Dr McDaniel was a lot different. She knew right away that time was of the essence. She adjusted medications to maximize the chances for us. When we proceeded to extract eggs, her procedure skills were amazing. We had some hiccups during the procedure, but she was able to extract all the eggs utilizing her procedure experience. We were hoping she could be our OBGYM, but we unfortunately could not. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my egg freezing experience with Dr. McDaniel. She is not only deeply knowledgeable, but extremely committed to her patients. Her expertise and compassion helped me feel comfortable through a very vulnerable, emotional process. After the consultation, the experience is two full weeks of medication (self-administered injections) followed by the egg retrieval, with constant blood draws, ultrasounds, and communication in that two week span. Jazmine is Dr. McDaniel's coordinator and an absolute angel! I spoke with her almost daily and always felt very well taken care of. The HRC Pasadena office and surgery area is pristine, modern, and incredibly clean. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. Overall, an incredible experience. There are not enough great things to say about Dr. McDaniel and the staff and facilities at HRC but I'll do my best. We came to Dr. McDaniel upon the prompting of our Ob-Gyn, who had done residency with her at USC and described her as a highly capable, thorough, and technically skilled--and an extremely caring and compassionate person. We came to our IVF after having two miscarriages--we were scared and overwhelmed when we entered this process. And from our first appointment at HRC we were treated with respect, care, and a high level of communication, compassion, and transparency. A fertility journey is highly sensitive, extremely emotional, and technically complex. I appreciated so much the way HRC Pasadena and Dr. McDaniel made it as easy and seamless as possible for us to succeed. The office runs extremely well! They are on time to the minute, the clinic is beautifully appointed and clean, they were flexible with our appointment times when our work demands got higher, and all the staff we interacted with were compassionate, capable, and experienced. Parking is a breeze, the financial staff were incredible--working easily with our fertility benefit, Carrot, making sure things were paid for and handled. The fact that the surgical procedures that accompany IVF were also done there, on site, at their partner clinic RSA, was an incredible perk. I literally started to associate being at HRC with hope and excitement because of how well taken care of we were throughout our experience! Everything is in house. From the bloodwork to the ultrasounds, to the egg retrieval, to the freezing of our embryos--which I personally loved. We are now 10.5 weeks pregnant just six months after our initial appointment with HRC because of our successful IVF cycle. Dr. McDaniel was as excited about this as we were! Dr. McDaniel was so positive, supportive, hopeful, caring, and invested in our success. She was highly communicative, so loving--just the perfect person to have along for our journey.
