I was 31 years old when we visited Dr. Evans. She was initially friendly and methodical in her approach and her staff seemed organized. But once my labs came back and my ultrasound collaborated low egg supply Dr. Evans said my body was acting like it was 45, that I would go through menopause before 40 and that I had LESS THAN A 5% CHANCE of CONCEIVING EVEN WITH IVF. I left devastated thinking we would never have biological children. Fast forward. I'm 38 years old and I have THREE biological children (5.5, 3 and 1) - all conceived unmedicated. First a natural IUI and the other two through intercourse (oh the last child was a surprise). And I still have a regular monthly cycle- so not nearing menopause. Dr Evans seems to cherry pick easy case. Perhaps to boost her success rate? The other REs I visited gave my chance on conception with IVF in the 20-50% range. Through lifestyle changes (gluten dairy soy free diet to lower inflammation), yoga, meditation and cleaning toxins from environment (ideas from Women Code book which I highly recommend) I was able to heal my body and reversal my low egg supply. Lifestyle changes are sadly not something Dr Evans or other REs tend to bring up at all. Infertility is a devastating and heart wrenching journey. Nothing in life is guaranteed, even with the best fertility doctors that money can buy but when it does happen for you the joy you feel holding your precious baby is priceless. During my time as a patient, I worked with Dr.Evans. She was relatable, kind, HONEST and compassionate. Dr.Evans made me feel as though we were in this battle to conceive together. Dr.Evans is very conservative in her approach to treat and methodical on the options she presents to you. Dr.Evans goal is for you to conceive a child with minimal risks. You will experience emotional highs and lows through the fertility process. However, the staff will support you when you're down and cheer for you when your treatment is a success. I wish I weren't writing this negative review, but unfortunately an endearing bedside manner does not result in a successful pregnancy, and I would absolutely not recommend Dr. Evans to anyone in need of a fertility doctor. We saw Dr. Evans after we tried unsuccessfully to conceive our second child for a year. She swifty diagnosed us with male factor infertility and recommended IVF. We went through the process, with a few bumps in the road, and eventually had a retrieval that yielded 2 normal embryos. Both embryo transfers failed, and Dr. Evans could not give us an explanation as to why. In fact, she was just as shocked as we were, and had told us we had a 70% chance of success with our ages and diagnosis. After not having any reasonable explanation or plan, we decided to get a second opinion. The new doctor immediately (literally first ultrasound) discovered a uterine defect that I have had my entire life. I have since had it further examined and repaired, and my uterus is an entirely new and improved environment. I had countless ultrasounds and tests with Dr. Evans, during which she repeatedly complimented my uterus, saying it was "perfect". She never once noticed anything that could have explained our issues, when the defect I had is without a doubt the cause of repeated implantation failure. I reached out to Dr Evans to send her proof (photos and reports) showing the defect. I asked her to consider compensating us some of the money we spent on the failed transfers with her. She denied that there was a defect because she personally never saw it. She did not refund us a dollar. Dr Evans has a lovely bedside manner, will email you back the same day, and seems like a caring person. She is not thorough, she is not a detective, and if your infertility requires anything remotely complicated, she likely will not discover what that is. We wasted a year +, our savings, 2 embryos and indeterminable emotional ramifications on Dr Evans. I know other women who have had very similar experiences with her, this is not a one off. I don't wish this on anyone else going through this awful process - see a different doctor, you won't regret it. read more

Words can't describe how thankful we are for Dr. Evans. I knew from the moment I met her she was a great fit and if anybody could make a miracle happen it would be her. We went to many Fertility Dr over the years and never had any luck. Dr. Evans did everything in her power to insure we would have a successful implant. She even told me no twice that I wasn't ready for implant. I can't be more happy the fist implant she did was successful! We had our beautiful baby girl on August 11th 2020 and she is perfect! We would of never had kids if it wasn't for her. We even named her middle name after the Dr. we can't wait to have one more. We have an embryo waiting for us in the freezer. My husband and I's complaint against Dr. Evans and Pacific Fertility Center is that I was not given proper medical care during our three IUIs and two IVF processes to have a chance at successful pregnancy. Having gone through several more IVFs with a different doctor and facility, we discovered that our care with Dr. Michele Evans and the Pacific Fertility Center made it impossible for me to get pregnant even thought we spent $25,000 trying. For our three IUIs and first IVF, I wasn't told and didn't know the role that a healthy thyroid gland plays in getting pregnant. Dr. Evans recommended thyroid medication, but I had no idea that a baby couldn't develop without a proper TSH level. I thought taking thyroid medication was a suggestion. I wasn't aware that it was a necessity. As a specialist, Dr. Evans should have told me the role the thyroid plays in pregnancy and that medication is not optional. My TSH was too high to even have the possibility of getting pregnant. On our second try, I did not take the progesterone directly after surgery. It is impossible for the embryo to attach without progesterone in my system. I had been given the protocol weeks before on a piece of paper with directions. After my egg removal surgery, I was wiped out from all the medications and the egg retrieval. Nowhere in my post-surgery papers was I told to start taking progesterone to prepare for implantation. Dr. Evans checked in with me post surgery, but did not tell me to start taking progesterone. With stakes so high and thousands of dollars being spent on the IVF and drugs, a simple reminder could have given us the chance at a pregnancy. Instead we used up our precious embryos and had zero chance of getting pregnant. We complained to Dr. Evans and asked for compensation, but she refused. read more

The best of the best. I honestly can't imagine having a better doctor. She is incredibly kind and compassionate. My husband and I decided to have a child through surrogacy. Dr. Evans put us at ease and was very positive and confident through the entire journey. We found ourselves looking forward to our visits with her and her staff just to get a boost in optimism and motivation that this WILL work. Most importantly she made our surrogate feel like the most important person in the world - which is what we liked the best. What a godsend! Dr. Evans is the third or fourth fertility specialist we have seen, and I only wish we had found her earlier. She is as charming as she is smart, and importantly, she is respectful and compassionate. Her staff is lovely as well. They are professional, kind, and Dr. Evans and her staff are readily available via phone and email. Her ultrasounds are gentle, and she explains everything on the monitor (without being patronizing about it). Bonus: great coffee and tea via the Keurig in the waiting room. Good lab: check it out. Not Heterocentric: Many fertility clinics pay lip service to the amenability of their services for same sex couples, but Pacific Fertility Center (where Dr. Evans is located) is one of the first clinics we found where we really felt like our Dr. and her staff were rooting for us and and where we weren't just symbols of a marketable population, to be tolerated. They didn't use awkward language, or say insulting things like, "We're just going to mark you as single on this form since you aren't legally married," and their paperwork didn't use gender normative language like "husband/wife." Refreshing. Good consult: We could tell from the consultation that Dr. Evans knew what she was talking about, and she answered all of our questions and made sure to thoroughly inform us and include us in the decision-making. We had to call her on the first night of stims at 9:30 to ask a question, and she was very kind and patient with us. This is not the norm--our other doctor was never available for us after hours, and we had to go through a huge process just to speak to a nurse to ask a question about something they had forgotten to tell us in the first place. Words of advice: I have had horrible experiences with condescending and opportunistic fertility specialists, and I caution anyone who is looking for a reproductive endocrinologist to do their research carefully and not to feel committed to someone because you went through an initial consultation. If you aren't entirely impressed during the consult, it is well worth it to spend the extra money for additional consults until you find the right doctor for you rather than get stuck with a schmuck. I am a gestational surrogate who has worked with Dr. Evans and her staff on two journeys, starting in April of 2013. I have gotten to know her well, and have been nothing but amazed by her care. She is such a talented and caring reproductive endocrinologist, and those are two characteristics that are hard to find in a doctor of her caliber. It would be no exaggeration to say that I love her! Dr. Evan's knowledge of procedures, medication, and current studies/statistics is unparalleled. When you combine that with her genuine care for her patients, it is astounding. I have never felt rushed in appointments, and I am a HUGE question-asker. She is patient with me, and always answers my queries and replies to my emails in a speedy manner. My questions haven't always been medical either. I remember one time when I was struggling, and she called me on a Saturday and talked to me on the phone for almost an hour as we made decisions and addressed my concerns. It is not lost to me that she sacrificed some valuable time to do that, as I know she is in high demand and has many patients. One thing I LOVE about Dr. Evans is that she uses needle-free therapy during the IVF process. I don't know if that was just my situation, but it was amazing. I also noticed, compared to other surrogates I've met along the way, that in addition to the needle-free medications, she also didn't seem to over medicate me with any unnecessary hormones. During all of my procedures she has been nothing but thorough on all post-procedure instructions. I always knew precisely what I was supposed to do. Stop looking right now! Dr. Evans is the BEST at what she does and I am so grateful to have found her when I did. I had previously been seeing a fertility specialist recommended by my healthcare provider for over a year and each visit, I left feeling more frustrated than the visit before. I had several consultations with others as well and I always left feeling one thing- this is a cash grab for everyone of them. I could have paid out of pocket for fertility treatments anywhere, if that's what I wanted. But this was not at all the case with Dr. Evans. In the consultation, Dr. Evans does a thorough exam and discusses options instead of forcing anything down your throat. She, along with her office staff, are very compassionate which is what one needs when struggling with infertility. Dr. Evans takes the time to explain everything in detail and answers any questions you may have. Another huge plus is that her office staff is available during off hours to schedule appointments as needed- which was a huge disappointment in my previous experience with the other place, who didn't respond to any messages outside of their M-F, 8am-5pm timeframe. My husband and I first met Dr. evans back in ...I Believe 2009, at HRC. We didn't move forward with IVF at the time for many personal reasons. Now at my age of 39 we are moving ahead. It was great to work with her and her staff -- they were all responsible, kind, helpful. I really appreciated how Dr. Evans took the time to explain things clearly. She was willing to take me even though I was on that line where other practices would have rejected me as a poor candidate, and during the cycle she was very clear about the pros/cons of cancellation and let me make the decisions. Her Glendale office is pretty mellow and I rarely had much of a wait there. The Westwood office is a little bit of a headache, but there are only two visits there. The lab is excellent, which ends up very important for procedures like IVF. They offer PGS with a turnaround fast enough to get the results within the same cycle. read more

We found Dr. Evans through Yelp and by writing this review, we hope we help others looking for a fertility Dr. If you're trying to have baby and it's not happening, we highly suggest a consultation with Dr Evans. She knows her stuffs, office staff are nice, available and responsive and the price is reasonable! We met with Dr Evans, we talked, she ordered tests, we met again and she pretty much told us anything less aggressive than IVF+ICSI will not work - Google Kruger test! Fast forward about a year later, my daughter is sleeping in her nursery as I'm typing this up! Price-wise, let's face it; fertility treatments are not cheap, but I never knew the reason until we went through the process. The matter of fact is that only a small portion of the whole cost goes to Dr Evans and her business. The fertility center (right next to UCLA campus), anesthesiologist, embryologist, EXPENSIVE medications, embryo cryopreservation, lab works, genetic testing, etc etc etc each took big chunks of the whole cost. The whole process was labor-intensive and required many visits to Dr Evans' office and a couple of trips to the west-LA office. It took us a few months to 'graduate' from Dr Evans' office and see the the regular OB. You just have to trust Dr Evans and let her do what she needs to do! Good luck! read more

First, I want to start by saying that I never write Yelp reviews. Having said that, Dr. Evans is the most patient, helpful, concerned, and kind doctor I have ever seen before. She is devoted to her patients and makes you feel as though you are her only concern. Her office staff is friendly, helpful and understanding. Dr. Evans gave me hope when I felt I had none left. She answered every one of my emails with medical expertise but also genuine concern. When my first IUI failed, she made me feel hopeful in trying again. When my husband couldn't make it to the IUI due to a business meeting, Dr. Evans sat with me for 15 minutes after the procedure while I had to lay on my back. She talked to me as if I was a friend, not a patient. Our conversation continued for the entire 15 minutes and we laughed quite a bit. Guess what? I got pregnant that cycle. I was sad to leave her care when I graduated to my OB. She has even answered questions for me during my pregnancy when other doctors fell short. First, I want to say that if you're embarking on the fertility treatment journey, you must come to peace with the fact that this could be a long road. It will have bumps and crazy turns and it is not for the faint of heart...but you've chosen the best doctor you can find to guide you through it. Statistics are well and good and I'm sure PFCLA has competitive ones; but at the end of the day, you want a doctor who can hold your hand through the tough choices and heartache just as well as the doctor who gets lucky enough to get you pregnant (and keep you pregnant) on the first try. Dr. Evans is unlike any healthcare professional I've ever met and without her support, knowledge and capable hands, I would have lost my mind before we even started the IVF process. And after the first failed attempt. And after the second failed attempt. It wasn't easy, and she had her work cut out for her, but Dr. Evans helped give us the gift of two beautiful babies--boy/girl twins now just over two months old. Both happy, healthy, incredible human beings. I should note that I did in fact get pregnant all three tries, but like I said--ups and downs in this journey and I wouldn't have traded Dr. Evans for anyone else during those difficult phone calls or office meetings. If you stick with it and trust that she knows what she's doing, has years of experience, and is your greatest resource (far better than the Internet!) during this whole process, you too will find success and joy. Where do I begin?! Absolutely wonderful experience from A-Z. I wish doctor Evans could be my OB. She is patient, kind and always answered all of my questions. Any questions I needed answered she was always available via email. She helped me with my fertility after 3 miscarriages. Saw me once a week and did everything necessary to help me. I am now 12 weeks along and owe a lot to her! The longest I waited in the waiting room was 5 minutes. Her staff is extremely nice and professional. I absolutely love her nurse Sarah! The best!
