Dr. Quinn, I've been thinking about how to thank you, and…read morethe truth is, what you did this cycle wasn't just clinical. It was creative. In a situation where nothing was following the "expected" script--not even a period--you didn't wait for the calendar to cooperate. You read the biology, trusted your judgment, adjusted the course, and made something happen where there was very little to work with. That kind of thinking, the kind that doesn't rely on routine, but on insight, is rare. Eight months ago, I could sense the uncertainty. Today, I see something entirely different: persistence, precision, and a willingness to keep trying, thoughtfully and strategically, until we found a way forward. Two mature eggs, under these circumstances, feels like a small miracle and I know it isn't luck. It's your expertise. Also, on a lighter note, I still think your last name is missing an "e", because this was nothing short of queen-level work. Thank you for not giving up on the process--or on me. With genuine gratitude,

From the beginning, she made me feel at ease with her calm, warm demeanor and her deep knowledge and expertise. Whenever I had additional questions or concerns, Alondra was always there to help. I know I sent quite a few emails, but she responded promptly every time and never made me feel like I was being a bother. That level of support truly meant a lot to me. The facility itself is clean and welcoming, with a comfortable, intimate atmosphere. I also want to highlight the phlebotomists--they are amazing. I mention this because I really dislike having my blood drawn, and throughout the process, which requires frequent bloodwork, they made it as easy and stress-free as possible. During my in-hospital procedures, the prep nurses were equally wonderful--kind, attentive, and reassuring. Infertility is a difficult journey, regardless of the outcome, but at HRC I genuinely felt that the entire team cared and always did their very best to support me.

Tldr; doctors are great, staff is a hot mess garbage fire. Would like to give HRC - Pasadena a 0 star. Recommend reading the recent reviews there, it's pretty hilarious and sad My partner and I both had our eggs extracted, and Dr. Guner was our doctor. She seems to truly care about her patients and she took the time to answer our questions. She sends follow up notes for your visits and you can most definitely reach her for anything urgent. We also saw Dr. Dooby (not sure if that's how it's spelled) and she was super personable and gentle. The doctors don't make you feel like a cash cow getting herded through the process for money. Can't really say the same for the HRC - Pasadena staff and nurse. They were pretty useless and lied to us on our first visit saying they were closed at 10 AM Sunday. They aren't closed. Their staff just wanted to leave early because there were no other patients scheduled past 9:30 AM on that Sunday. I fought with three receptionists/staff/call operators until I finally got my foot through the door. Best advice is to advocate for yourself and try to connect with someone that is not just a call center operator if it's something urgent or can't wait until the next business day. They also didn't show us how to do the injections so we YouTubed everything. Good luck and hang in there! You are putting your body and mental health and work schedules through a lot in this journey but I commend all the ladies out there for even starting your journey.

We even asked Dr. Lin if he could deliver the baby because we loved our experience at RFC so much! Lori was our coordinator, and Nettie was our second coordinator. They know what they are doing. Dr. Lin is excellent. Don't worry about reaching out to them. They are always a phone call away!! We are now 7 months pregnant with our miracle baby thanks to everyone at RFC!! I called back again at 2 and this time I reached out to the doctor, who never answered. I called back and they then said that the lady who does this procedure had left, and now they wanted me to drive all the way to their other location in Burbank. I paid over $300 for a prenatal massage here and left feeling frustrated and completely unsatisfied. I came in specifically for lower back pain relief, and despite asking the therapist at least four times to use more pressure, the massage stayed extremely light the entire time. I've had many massages, including prenatal ones, so I know my expectations are reasonable. What made it worse was how my requests were handled. At one point the therapist told me that "if you haven't had a massage in a while your nerves might be asleep," which felt dismissive and didn't really make sense. She then said she would "just press and hold in places" rather than actually massage. That's not what I paid for, especially at this price point. It was clear she was inexperienced, and while everyone starts somewhere, a specialized prenatal setting with premium pricing isn't the place for that learning curve. When I followed up afterward, I was quickly passed off to a business manager via text with very little acknowledgment of my concerns. Their own receptionist had already admitted the therapist was new and less experienced, so the lack of follow-through felt tone-deaf. The owner did eventually offer a full refund, but the way it was handled felt even more dismissive, basically making it clear I wasn't welcome back. Overall this experience was overpriced, underwhelming, and poorly handled from start to finish. I would not return.

The main thing you will love about the team is how responsive they are if you have any questions or concerns. I have never waited long for a response. I had one egg retrieval and one failed transfer followed by a second successful transfer. There are no guarantees in IVF which is why it's so important to work with a doctor and team you trust. A pharmacist came out and said they closed at 8 pm. Before leaving work, I checked the hours in three places online, including Google and Kaiser's own website in two different spots. All said 9 pm. It takes minutes to update hours online so you are not wasting people's time and money. That is basic integrity. There were two people inside waiting and she said they were urgent care patients, so they stay open until 9 pm for urgent care. Given that they had not updated their hours, you would think they could take two minutes to grab my prescription. I had received the text that it was ready and had just driven an hour to pick it up. Integrity feels rare these days. There are things I like about Kaiser and things that are ludicrous. Pros: everything is in one building. Referrals are easier than they used to be. Many appointments can be done online, which is a huge timesaver. The mental health practitioners I have interacted with have been kind and caring. Things that need improvement: I was on a waitlist for over a year to get a therapist. Now that I have one, appointments are still hard to get because there are very few available. My doctor recently had me do labs to change medication. I checked the results myself and saw I have hypothyroidism. No one called me to explain this. I only realized it because I looked up what the labs meant. When I read the symptom list and saw I have nearly all of them, I was shocked I had never been tested before. Ladies, get your hormones checked. Women's health care is still lacking. Which brings me to my IUD insertion. It was so agonizing I almost passed out, so they sent me home with medication to dilate before trying again. What they did not tell me is that the dilation medication caused worse pain than when I had kidney stones. Kaiser does not provide localized pain relief for IUD insertions, and I had already taken the maximum dose of ibuprofen. The first attempt was 40 minutes of agony. The second attempt involved 4 hours of severe dilation pain followed by another 35 minutes of insertion. That does not include the long wait times. They need better training or actual pain management for women. Lastly, I needed an EKG before starting a new medication. When I called, there were no appointments available for weeks, but my doctor needed it within a week. She told me to go to the Pasadena nurse clinic as a walk in and gave me the hours. I booked the far out appointment just in case and went as a walk in. The receptionist said they could not fit me in because they were full and only open two more hours. I asked when to come back and returned at the time he suggested. He then said the nurse who does EKGs would be leaving in an hour and could not see me. This was the second time I had followed their instructions and been turned away. I had rented a car just to get there. He sent me to Glendale. I drove 45 minutes in rush hour and arrived just before closing. The nurse there told me Pasadena should not have sent me away and that they are supposed to take walk ins but keep sending patients to Glendale. They were incredibly kind and saw me even though they were close to closing. I know Kaiser employees likely work in a tough, fast paced system. But with the massive amounts of money insurance companies make, you would think there would be more efficient care, accessible mental health services, better women's health care, updated hours, and policies that are actually honored. Too often patients are treated like cattle, rushed through to get to the next. Wouldn't it be nice if health care actually cared? A gal can dream...
