If I could give them 10 stars I would. This place is amazing! The staff is very friendly and accommodating when asking for changes or substitutions. We stopped by for lunch and since it was our first time we tried multiple plates. For appetizers we ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, Steamed Pork Shumai and ginger salad. They were so delicious and the ginger dressing on the salad is hands down the BEST ginger dressing I've ever had. For entrees we ordered the Panang Curry with chicken and it was perfect. The curry wasn't too heavy and the had just the right amount of spice. We also ordered the shrimp fried rice which was nice and fluffy and wasn't oily. The shrimps were cooked to perfection, no yum yum sauce necessary! We ordered the Dynamite Roll and it was our favorite dish of the day. The prices were also extremely reasonable. We each had a beer as well and our total was $66. We loved this restaurant and will definitely be returning! read more

The green curry you'd be eating in your dreams is what I got here. If you see my other reviews in the Vero area, we'd been eating at Bangkok for the other years and enjoyed it. Sadly, it appears out of business. That said, the sadness was quickly replaced by finding Kata! Wow! Wish we had tried it sooner. My boyfriend got one of the stir fry things and seemed to love it. He added miso for $1, I the salad with ginger dressing. Oh, if I can only win the Mega Millions tonight or the lottery tomorrow, I'll be racing back down to dine at this place. I went here and the pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) was horrendous. Had no flavor and the meat was extremely over cooked. Beef is not suppose to be hard like leather. The sushi was overpriced. We got the summer roll and there was more noodles in it than meat. Our waitress was extremely rude. When we asked for a high chair for our daughter she rolled her eyes and said "yeah sure" and every time we called her over she would give out a loud sigh and roll her eyes. If you don't want to do your job then go home. I will not be coming back. If you want good Asian food then Izziban is the way to go. read more

Best duck ever!! Get Thai King Duck, even if you don't normally eat duck. Hubby tried mine and loved it. I just couldn't stop eating it. Hubby had spicy noodle and he was very happy. I started out with the seafood miso soup, there was only one piece of shrimp in the seafood miso, large portions of tofu, the broth was tasty, had some noodles in it, but I'm going to pay for seafood miso soup, I would like to have more than just one piece of shrimp in it, it was not worth the money. My entree was the spicy shrimp noodle, it was very tasty, large portions, had more shrimp in it than the Miso soup did, however the noodles appeared to be overcooked and tasted like it , service was super fast, was impressed with that, had a full bar so I got to enjoy a martini, the martini was supposed to be extra dirty, it was quite strong and was supposed to have had extra olives, had three olives, the meal was okay, however I probably will not return, as there are other places that's are better for your money read more

After placing 12 delivery orders with an average order cost of $80 plus in the last 5 months tonight we are told that they will not be able to use less rice as in all previous orders in our hand rolls and two other minor requests because "they don't do custom orders". Seriously? Sushi is all made custom! Too many restaurants needing business to deal with one with no regard for their loyal customers. Really disappointing visit tonight. They basically said everything has either soy sauce or oyster sauce except the red curry. I opted for the steamed fish, had to pay extra to add two vegetables even though I couldn't have the salad or the soup. Honestly, I wish it were different, but I don't think I would ever go back here. The sushi we had on New Year's Day tasted like it had been stored in the refrigerator for several days. We got two rolls and about 10 pieces of assorted sushi. None of it was very good, although note that the sushi pieces were reasonably priced and generously sized. I love that this was a Thai restaurant and Japanese usually my family has a hard time deciding between them! The server was so kind!

We stepped inside to find ourselves in the hip, cozy, lounge area that appears to have a full bar. We didn't stop for a drink cause we were ready to chow! We were seated right away by friendly staff. The dining area is very nicely decorated without being over the top. The dining area was VERY clean. I did not use the restroom or see the kitchen, but what we saw was spotless. The menu was a very extensive mix of Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese. They also have a sushi bar, but we all ended up ordering Thai, not planned, just the way it worked out. Service was excellent!!! Food was far superior to most Thai places. I was surprised since I usually don't have good luck with Asian Fusion. We don't live in the area, but can't wait to make a trip back so we can return. If you go to their website, don't pay attention to the decor. They must have recently remodeled and it is MUCH nicer now. read more

Gorgeous restaurant, clean interior. Sushi bar with nonobtrusive quiet flat screen tv in the corner. Amazing sushi chefs! I tried the Volcano roll and eel and tuna sushi and found it to be awesome. Wonderful fresh taste and beautiful presentation. The menu is huge. It would probably take 20 minutes or longer just to read it all. There are pages of Japanese and Sushi items, pages of Thai items, a short page on Vietnamese items. The first time I tried some Vietnamese Beef Pho (noodle soup) and thought it was pretty good along with some very good sushi. The latest trip I tried a sea bass with green curry and more sushi and thought both items were excellent. The staff is very attentive and the owner/manager is ever present if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I still haven't tried the alcohol alcohol bar/lounge with the leather chairs next door. It will take me a year to try all the menu items, but I'm looking forward to trying. I meant to review this place when I took the picture but never did. I stopped here with my family while visiting my brother. It's a nicely decorated small and cozy with a good blend of of thai, japanese, korean food. I had the pho, my brother had the bun my mom had the curry chicken and everyone left with full bellies and a smile. Definite stop and a pleasant surprise if you're in the Vero beach area. read more

Great sushi in Vero ... but not better than Wasabi in Sebastian! The bentos are a great value for dinner (~$22 for a ton of food), but sushi is a bit pricey. Service was great, and they were very accommodating (our party had two babies). We'll definitely be back! read more

Prices are on point with most downtown Vero Beach restaurants. Warning: I don't eat most seafood, so don't look to me for advice on most sushi. I had the Pho (listed as an appetizer, but this was entree-sized), Edamame, and Hot Saki. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Came here when they were about to closed. There was a rush but it was all understandable. We came for the Thai food, and it was surprisingly pretty good. The price was reasonable as well. The Massaman curry was not as flavorful as what I'm used to, but the Pad Thai, and Basil duck was alright. Tempura ice cream has quite a bit of batter but not bad. Will be back soon! I love going back to Vero Beach because they have the best sushi places! I took my kids here when I went down there the last time. I had some delicious Mango duck there. My son chose one of the boxes with Sushi and Sashimi. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious, however, the only draw back was that the white fish was seared on the side. The service was very friendly and filled our water often. The prices are pretty much with all the other sushi restaurants in the area. I will definitely go back to Kata again! read more

We had the Bun Xeo Vietnam crepe with pork, shrimp, sprouts scallions with special dipping sauce and were surprised when it arrived and was one big crepe deep fried. But, it was delicious...the crepe was actually light and not too greasy. The veggies, shrimp, pork were delicious and when dipped in the special sauce was very good. I had the shrimp teriyaki which was very good although the veggies were a bit overdone for my taste. It came with salad (very fresh) and white rice which was good and sticky. My wife had the pork red curry and was quite pleased with it. Overall a good experience but the staff had a bit of an indifferent attitude although our waiter did a good job. Not a lot of ambiance but good food. The bar area was pretty cool but hard to hear with the music they had going. Lastly, the men's room could have used a touch up. read more

Second visit....and last. I wish I had visited the restroom before ordering food....I would have left immediately. The women's restroom was beyond filthy. I now shudder to think about my food. Makes me wonder if health inspectors ever show up to review the kitchen and prep areas. We were late lunch diners....the servers were taking the soy sauces from the tables and mixing the "low sodium" and "regular soy sauce" together in one big pitcher. Food was average at best. I love Thai food and would go there to get some curry every now and then (because there's nowhere else to go) but I fear they would not get my order right! I've probably eaten at Kata 10 times in the last year and I'll say they screwed up my order 9 of those times. The girls who take your order (not waitresses by any stretch), don't speak English, they don't write the order down & could honestly care less if you are happy or not. They are consistent! We went New Year's Eve. Got there at 8. There were people in the restaurant but by no means was it super busy. We were greeted after waiting by the hosted stand for 5 min. Sat down at our table and ordered our food. The food was good, but we had to eat separately. My wife's food came and right as she finished her meal my food came. The waitress was very nice, but in all honesty my wife and I went out to eat with each other.... Not one eat while the other watches and then we switch spots. Also, no gluten free soy sauce even though it's listed as gluten free on Yelp. Saddest part is that it's incredibly simple to buy GF soy sauce and have it on hand for anyone with an allergy. read more

Kata is a very good restaurant with a little more diversity than their sister restaurant Sake. Kata has some Vietnamese offerings that Sake does not. Overall, they are very similar, although I think that Sake executes the Thai dishes better. We really enjoy the Bento Box lunches, and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent, and the portions are excellent for the price. Yes, it is the standard-fare sushi, but you can't expect much more in this smallish town. You won't find unique varieties of sushi, but that is understandable as they just don't have the customer volume to sell more adventurous seafood. There would just be too much loss. We went last night for the second time. My wife and I split appetizers. The Fried Calamari was prepared in a light tempora batter and was exceptional. The steamed Shumai was delicious, but there were only 4 dumplings. Could have used a couple more. I had the Vietnamese Pho with beef. The soup and noodles were delicious, but the pieces of beef were not thin enough and as a result, were sometimes chewy. My wife had the Mango Duck. The presentation was beautiful and the seasoning was delicious. Definitely will return soon. read more
