I stopped in Saigon Sushi for a mid-week lunch. Stepping inside I noticed that everything seemed subdued; lighting, noise, a hurried ambiance. It felt like you were invited into a small home, eclectically decorated, for good dining. I was immediately seated and a server brought a complimentary bowl of ginger chicken and rice soup and a small plate of delicately cut vegetables and fruit-enough to 'amuse the mouth'. I chose the sushi combo ($15.99); six pieces of fresh fish and the chef's recipe for sticky rice. It was delicious. The California roll was very good as well. A side of cubed raw fish and raw vegetables were tossed in a sweet and sour marinade. I asked for extra pickled ginger but only a small amount was sided with the wasabi. The iced tea in a tall glass was refilled and was only so-so. The chef came out for a satisfaction check and a greeting. Good portion, solid flavor, tender beef, and noodles cooked right without being overly oily. Lime and peanuts on the side let you adjust it how you want. Reliable, fast, and satisfying. The sushi here is pretty decent. Not over the top but ok...better than a lot of other sushi restaurants in the area. The unagi is a standout, but some of the chef special rolls were disappointing. The spider roll was absolutely tasteless. The real problem with Saigon is the place itself. It's dark, it's dirty (sticky tabletops with flies and gnats swirling around). There is no flow with the space -- it's all chopped up into little cramped seating spaces. Adjectives come to mind: dirty, dark, cramped, dated, kind of yucky. I felt like I needed to shower when I got home! The servers were very nice however, and I think they mean well. But this is not a place I would suggest of propose when someone wants to go out for sushi. read more

Fantastic little place to eat. Most of the people in there seemed like regulars and we will be as well one day. My wife had the drunken noodle, which I tried, and was the best I've had to date. We got takeout after going to the beach. Place was nice and clean and they gave us water while we waited. Food was solid. The pad thai was not too sweet (which is good in my opinion) and had big shrimp. Crab rangoon was really good. My neice had the soup and kids meal which she thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was fresh. Saigon sushi has a new way to order online. I ordered a Beauty and the Beast role with eel sauce and Sriracha on the side and an order of the large garlic shrimp with the garlic sauce on the side. This was a pick up order. When I arrived, the pick up order was already wrapped in a to go bag with the top tied. When I returned to my hotel room, the garlic sauce was not on the side and there was no eel sauce or Sriracha. It was like they didn't read the details of the order. While the food taste good it's disappointing that it didn't come the way I ordered it. It's the little things. Soup used to be chicken rice. The current tofu soup not all that good. Hot sauces & powders not nearly as hot as they had in the past. Service excellent. Sure wish lunch sushi combo weren't all with "chef's choice" sushi. I love sushi but not eel or octopus, so I don't gamble on the chef's choice. Interior of the restaurant very dark yet quaint. This was so unbelievably delicious. I am (mostly) vegetarian and I have never had sushi but I decided to try it on whim and I'm so glad I chose Saigon Sushi for it. I got the veggie sushi platter (it has no meat) and it was absolutely phenomenal I ate almost the whole thing! Saigon Sushi is admittedly not as good as those places...but it's not that far off. If it was in NYC, I'd be giving it four stars, but we're not in NYC, we're in Vero Beach Florida. And context matters. In Vero Beach, this is a five star sushi restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is fantastic, the atmosphere is...meh. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant to celebrate your anniversary, this isn't it. But if you just want excellent sushi, fantastic service, and a decent price, this is the place to go. The atmosphere is cozy with some Thai details; there are a few booths inside and tables. No outdoor seating. First thing you should know, there is street parking only! Now this place is tiny and sits a bit off the road. It is a quaint little place. The main room has about 20 chairs and 3 booths. I didn't get to look at the other side. The menu is extensive. So much to choose from. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out what we wanted. Staff is so sweet and attentive. Service is prompt and there to explain to you anything you're not quite sure about. Water comes with the most adorable origami flower sticking out of the straw. On to the food. I had the volcano chicken with steamed Vegetables. Comes out super hot and beautifully presented yes on the plate. They give you Saigon salad to cleanse the palate prior to getting your meal. Delicious. The batter on the chicken is super light and crispy. Will definitely get that again. My dad has garden vegetable pork with steamed veggies in a brown sauce. Presentation was loVely and he dove right in. The food is amazing. Quick and fresh. The staff too notch. Is the place a 10 on the interior?... no but who cares when it clean, delicious and prompt. I decided to check this place out last night for my birthday due to all the previews reviews. Let me tell you Saigon sushi did not disappoint. The sushi was very fresh and tasted amazing. The Thai food was very delicious as well. I ordered a chicken pad Thai entree and it was the perfect texture. Overall very authentic yummy food. All I have are videos of the sushi rolls but I do recommend ordering the Saigon Roll, super crunch roll, and the sushi bomb roll. read more

The reviews looked excellent and so did the food. I was really pleased. The prices were really good and you get a good portion. I ordered the sushi explosion roll. It was a deep fried tempura roll with tuna and other things in it. Awesome! It was worth 14.99. Very fresh, very flavorful. I also ordered the volcano lunch special with tempura beef and shrimp.
