I started coming to Kat this year. This review is my own idea and not sponsored etc. just would like to say Kat is AMAZING! She is so sweet, and yet so professional! I came to her for Microblading as I had seen she has worked on Men's Brows before and I loved her work! Form the beginning she was super sweet, up beat, and extremely informative when telling me about the process of healing etc. I have Trichotillomania which means I pull my hair when stressed. For me it's mainly my lashes and brows. Well since Quarantine 2020 I've done it a ton! My brows have been a mess! I sent her some pics and asked if she could help me out and she said yes! I'm so thankful for the work she's done for me!!! Very competitive pricing, as her price includes the touch up session! So happy with my brows and will be coming back for years to come! Here's before and after photos.

SHE LEFT ME WITH A CHEMICAL BURN ON MY FACE! Be aware of this shady business!I have trusted this person, but honestly the first red flag was that her house smells like cat piss and that's her workplace... The second time I came she gave me tooth gems, lashes, spray tan and wax. Teeth gems that were supposed to last 2-5 months according to her have been misplaced and all fell apart within 20-40 minutes after the appointment. She told me she would fix them for me, she scheduled a date and I came to Santa Monica from Hollywood to find out she 'overbooked' and rescheduled me for 2,5 hours later. I have waited just for her to tell me she has COVID SYMPTOMS and the appointment is cancelled. So I have spent half of my day driving there and waiting for her. She ended up wasting my time & money, I politely asked for a refund since all the tooth gems lasted 30 minutes, not even a full day and she failed to fix her service. I was thinking since she is sick and won't be able to replace the rhinestones in the nearest future bc she apparently had coronavirus symptoms I will just find somebody else who will do it. She wrote me a big paragraph denying a refund, saying she does not refund for her time. I was not surprised honestly and replied with 'No problem '. 5days later she said she no longer has coronavirus and she checked with the doctor. She came to my place to give me lash refill, spray tan and fix the tooth gems. She spilled an etching gel (used by dentist to install braces and it causes chemical burn with skin contact). She spilled a large amount of it on my face and never wiped it out from my face. I had no idea what this clear substance was! I did notice redness in that area shortly after she left but I just went ahead with my day hoping it will go away. The next morning I woke up with a scar-looking chemical burn. I immediately contact her and she had the audacity to blame me, for not telling her to wash it with water right away, she never owned up to her mistake, never apologized and she told me THE CHEMICAL BURN WAS A RASH CAUSED BY ME DOING DRUGS??? OR FROM SMOKING A PUFF BAR (VAPING). The audacity this grown woman has, unprofessionalism, lack of manners and clearly lack of knowledge in the aesthetician area is truly sick. She told me to just wash it with water and soap and put 'some topical treatment'. I went to CVS to get the cream that can help with burns and kept applying. The next morning I woke up and the burn doubled in size, got scabbed and looked disgusting and scary, I was afraid of being scarred for life. I sent her the photo and she got extremely defensive, wouldn't tell me the chemical she spilled on my face even after I told her I would have to go to the doctor and he would need an explanation. She called this chemical 'a cleanser' or they glue' and kept saying the burn wasn't caused by her and it was caused by vaping! I had to google 'How to apply teeth gems' to find the kit she used and find out by myself that it was half of syringe of the etching gel on my face that she just left there to soak into my face. This was pure neglect and the way this person handled the situation was EXTREMELY unprofessional. I have been nothing but kind to her, I even promoted her shady business on my Instagram with 55,000 followers and didn't ask anything in return, I just felt bad for her and wanted her to have more clients even thought the services were not performed correctly (the first time the tooth gems fell off and the spray tan was orange). The conversation ended when I realized that she will keep parroting the same thing over and over, victim blaming me and telling me it's my fault, because apparently this skin condition was caused by smoking vape and not by her spilling an actual phosphoric acid on my face. Okay, she must have forgot I asked her if it was okay to smoke vape after getting tooth gems procedure and she told me it's was fine' (screenshots of this conversation attached) PLEASE LADIES BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST YOUR FACE, SKIN AND EYES THERE, THIS WOMAN IS NOT THE ONE TO TRUST AND TO WORK WITH. She needs to be taken her license away otherwise she will continue to harm her clients and attack them like she did with me. DO NOT COME TO HER! There's clearly something wrong with this lady since she's claiming to be an esthetician for 10+ years but still takes her appointment in the dark, smelly, unsanitary apartment on a ripped bed... And look how she responds to other negative reviews, she clearly forgets that these are not her friends or random people, these are the clients that pay her money. Oh, and some added bonus that comes with her dangerous practices are RACIST JOKES! 'Get a spray tan, you can even change your race with it *giggles*...are you serious? This is just one example, gross! She has an excuse for every complain and catches attitude towards every single bad review she gets. Watch her give me a reason to not apologize and deny her fault on here too.

UPDATE: I left. No service has been done. No answer to my texts, calls or voicemail. I sat down on the staircase and waited from 10:30-11:15AM. I texted her again saying not to charge me 25% of the price of the eyelash extensions or else I will report her. ---- First review: This is literally the worst. I am sitting outside her apartment and it's been 15 minutes past my appointment time. I called, texted, and left a voicemail. I've knocked and nobody is responding to me. This is clearly unprofessional and I'm incredibly disappointment. I'm worried that I'm going to be charged 25% of the price because I booked it online. I will update if she responds and does my eyelashes, but if not, I clearly do not recommend anyone to come here. It's not a proper business, it's located in a residential area inside an apartment.

Kat has been doing my lashes for months now, and this review is so long overdue!! People stop me on the street everywhere I go *just* to compliment me on my lashes, and after trying a few different estheticians over the years, she's by far the most talented. She is the BEST of the BEST you guys. Kat has a super adorable home studio in a great Santa Monica location. Scheduling is super easy too, which I loveeee. either do it online or over phone. The appointment is relaxing, my lashes always turn out consistent and even, and they stay significantly longer than other lashes I've had in the past. Kat is always fun to talk to also!! Cannot recommend her enough, I would never trust anyone else with my lashes ever again. Thanks Kat!!

I came in to see Kat today for the first time with two of my girl friends. To start, her room is adorable and extremely clean. Very cozy and was able to fit the 4 of us comfortably. After seeing her Instagram post about the new pumpkin peel she got, I new my skin had to have it. Plus, hello fall! She gave me a deep cleansing facial (extractions included!) tailored to my skin and incorporated the pumpkin peel into it. Ahhhhh that tingle. I live for it. It's been 2 long, sad years since I've had a facial and wow did my skin deeply miss that tingly sensation from a delicious smelling pumpkin peel. On top of the amazing peel, Kat gave a wonderful massage. I know from watching and all the gushing afterwards, that my two other friends enjoyed their treatments as well. Thank you Kat for a such lovely treatments as well as your great company!! I'm looking forward to seeing you again!

You guys please don't come here. The unprofessionalism of this woman is insane. I had just moved to the area and was looking for a new lash technician, and I decided to check her out. I've had lash extensions for about 5 years now, so I'm very familiar with the process. After she was done, I took a quick glance in the mirror, told her they were fine, and left, since I had to be at work soon after. About an hour and a half later I noticed in the mirror that they did not look okay. As I stated, I've been getting my lashes done for a while, so I know not to touch them, get them wet or do anything that might disturb the glue. I took a picture, and continued with my day. When I got home, I noticed that the lashes where clumped. I immediately messaged Kat and let her know of the situation. She advised to wait, get them wet, and then try to brush them. I did as she said, hoping that this would fix it. The next day, they were still all clumped up. I expressed this to her. The conversation initially started off friendly, I was trying to be as sensitive to her as possible. But things quickly turned ugly. She began to state that I was insulting her technique, and she blamed the environment for the cause of the clumping. How does the environment clump my lashes less than 2 hours after an appointment. I work in an air conditioned place, and I don't sweat. It was also like 60 degrees that day. She began to take things extremely personal, when all I was doing was expressing my unsatisfaction with her work. To me this is not complicated. Businesses will make mistakes, it's part of life. But the difference is that the business should take accountability for it's unsatisfactory work, and provide a solution with the customer. I told her that she could keep $24 for the supplies used, but if she can issue the rest as a refund. She initially ask for me to stop by so she could take a look at them, but I had to leave town the next day and honestly I did not want her to touch my lashes anymore. She said she would only refund $50 to pay for the removal of the lashes. She then completely began to victimize herself, and say that I was insulting her work, and harassing her because I was asking for my money back. I let her know that this was completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional of her. She continued to say that I was insulting and harassing her by calling her unprofessional. So apparently you can never give criticism to this woman, because she will take it extremely personal and say that it is all your fault, and that she is just the victim in all of this. After looking on Yelp and reading her response to customers that were unsatisfied with her work, this totally makes sense. In her responses, she typically blames the customer, and doesn't take accountability for her actions. In a response, a customer was waiting outside of her home for an appointment that was confirmed. She told the customer that she knew they would not get along based on their messages so she decided to just cancel the appointment and not notify her. What kind of petty unprofessional business is this? Please save your time and money. It's not worth for me continuing to argue with her through text message to give me my money back. I guess I should have looked into this woman a little bit better. I wonder what she will reply to this review... I know that it will for sure be unprofessional, and of course blame the customer.

Full set of doll eye lashes

I love Kat! Not only is she so good at doing lashes, but she is the sweetest person! The hour and a half appointment flew by because I had so much fun talking with her, she is truly amazing. I have small hooded eyes so getting lashes that look good on me is so hard, but Kat gave me super cute lashes that also look natural which I love! And on top of that she has the best prices on the west side so overall 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back!

I brought my teenage daughter in hoping to find someone who could help shape her eyebrows while keeping them full, natural, and appropriate for her age. I was a little nervous because I absolutely did not want them overdone or made too thin. It wasn't an easy starting point because she had previously tried to shape them herself and had accidentally shaved some areas unevenly. I was honestly not sure how much could even be done until those areas grew back. Renee was AMAZING. She immediately understood exactly what we wanted, and the result was beyond anything I expected. In just a few minutes, she transformed my daughter's eyebrows so beautifully and naturally that I was honestly amazed. She knew exactly what to remove, what to leave, and how to create a shape that perfectly complemented her face. I was so impressed that I decided to have mine done too -- and WOW again! Renee has an incredible eye for shape, symmetry, and detail. You can tell she really understands how eyebrows should complement each individual face. We both walked out absolutely thrilled. I rarely write reviews this enthusiastic, but Renee truly deserves it. If you want beautiful, natural-looking eyebrows and someone you can completely trust, ask for Renee! Thank you again, Renee! I honestly wish I had shown my appreciation a little better before we left, but I was so caught up in how happy we were with the results! I recently purchased a 10-session package for $430. I only learned Alyssa was leaving because she casually mentioned it during one of my last appointments. As a client with a half-used prepaid package, I was never proactively notified, offered options, or told how my remaining services would be handled. To be fair, I genuinely tried to make the situation work. I even booked an appointment with one of the artists Alyssa personally recommended. Unfortunately, while they were kind, the results simply were not to my standards. That confirmed what I already knew: I purchased this package specifically because I trusted Alyssa's work--not simply because I wanted eyebrow threading. Feeling stuck, and without another solution, I requested a prorated refund of the unused package. I didn't ask for this refund because of any changes on my end. I requested one because the provider whose services I specifically prepaid for became unavailable indefinitely. Had Alyssa not left, I never would have requested a refund. Instead, I was expected to absorb the financial loss caused by circumstances entirely outside my control, which I believe was fundamentally unfair. Although Alyssa did agree to issue a partial refund, which I appreciate, she would only do so after retroactively repricing all of my completed appointments at the full individual session rate instead of the discounted package rate I had paid. As a result, my refund was substantially reduced. I would never have chosen to receive these services at the full individual session rate. I purchased the package because the discounted pricing reflected the value I was willing to pay. Retroactively converting completed appointments to the full retail rate fundamentally changes the financial agreement I originally accepted. I was told that Alyssa's policy only allows a package-rate refund if an artist "permanently leaves." However, "buying a one-way ticket", "planning to travel for over a year", and having "no return date"is, from a client's perspective, functionally no different. Expecting clients to leave hundreds of dollars with a business indefinitely in the hope that an artist may someday return is unreasonable and unfair. Unfortunately, this experience reflects what I now recognize as a broader pattern. When the studio transitioned to the Fresha booking app, I accidentally booked with a newly hired artist because I didn't realize the new system assigned providers differently than before. Of course, I was welcome to keep that appointment, but I am very particular about my eyebrows, and for several years Alyssa had been the only person I trusted to thread them. Rather than proceed with an artist I didn't know, I immediately explained the misunderstanding and chose to forgo the appointment and wait for Alyssa instead. Despite being a loyal client for years, there was no flexibility or grace for what was clearly an honest mistake during a confusing system transition, and I was still required to pay for an appointment I never received. I've also seen disheartening posts on her business instagram page where she appears to poke fun of clients who arrive late. While every business has the right to enforce a late policy, publicly ridiculing clients who support your business struck me as unprofessional and disappointing. Even as someone who was never once late to an appointment, I still found these posts to be incredibly off-putting. True customer service isn't only about offering clients a drink when they arrive. It is about showing respect for them in difficult situations, especially when your business can no longer fulfill its obligations. Although Alyssa's talent is undeniable, and I sincerely wish her the best with her travels, her talent doesn't excuse poor communication or unfair business practices. After six years of loyalty, I expected to be treated with far more transparency, fairness, and consideration than I received.

We started out with a really gentle formula for the first session but worked up to a stronger solution for the next sessions. I was so excited when they started offering lash lifts last year that I HAD to try it. My brows and lashes have NEVER looked so amazing! Alex has been able to transform my brow shape with such artistry. I always recommend Two of a Kind to any of my friends in the LA area. Booking is super easy- either online or through text. Lami would last a solid 6-7 weeks before I'd need to start using brow gel more regularly and I would stretch appointments by 9 weeks. Belris is the absolute BEST for thoughtful and gorgeous beauty enhancements. Bella is not only a…read moretrusted professional but a true artist. She offers a calming environment, consultation, privacy and phenomenal services. For me it's worth the very fair prices and the 1.5 hour drive from my home. I look forward to my appointments like a hidden getaway that feels like a visit to a trusted friend who understands and welcomes all types of beauty. Highly recommend Belris

She left residue on my eyelid (last photo) that i noticed after i left. Came back in to have her remove whatever was left over and i still ended up getting a bad reaction that caused me to have swollen and red eyelids. Second appointment (book Jackie this time hoping for a different outcome) i tell her what happened last time, she assures me she will be more careful. I did not get residue left over or a bad reaction, but my lashes are now super over processed, damaged, and brittle. They are so thin and sparse now I'm devastated. Why would she take a giant chunk of hair from the inner corner of my brow ?? It was not like that before my appointment and it was immediately like that after. Maybe she didn't pluck but something happened. I don't understand... anyway. Would not recommend this place and will not be returning.
