Shaila is amazing! I'm very happy with my brows! She is very easy to talk to and extremely supportive! Her brow studio is near Literati Cafe which was perfect for a post brow snack :) I liked that I was able to make an appointment through her website. Update: I would like to respond to Shaila's response. Due to the word limit, I had to delete my original review in order to respond to her claims. I screenshot pictures of my original review and added the pictures to this review for the viewers context. (See below) Shaila, It clearly states on your website that there is a 5 min grace period after the appointment. This is LA for goodness sake. However, I'm all about respecting people's time. Anytime that I was late it was within a few minutes of my actual appointment and I always apologized with grace. I want to make clear that Shaila never once expressed discomfort or annoyance at my tardiness. In fact, it was quite the opposite. I always apologized immediately upon walking into the appointment if I was a few minutes late, and she would act super chill and reassure me that all was good. So I never once thought that this would be a concern, especially one leading her to make such a drastic move like blocking me as a client, especially with no warning! Shaila, people cannot read minds. You cannot on one hand reassure me through your words that anytime I was late that it was ok and nothing to worry about, and then turn around and just ghost me without explanation. That makes no sense, and especially from a business/leadership standpoint, just shows that you have very poor communication, business and interpersonal skills. Everyone deserves at least one chance to correct a behavior if it's bothering someone, especially one that they aren't even made aware of. The fact that you couldn't even express your discomfort, and at the very least give me a warning, so that I could correct a problem that I wasn't even aware was a problem, is seriously concerning and is more of a testament to your character instead of mine. I'm going to safely assume that you blocked me in your booking system a month ago after my last appointment. So all of this time you didn't feel the need to give me a heads up that you would no longer take me as a client, and I don't think that you ever had plans on saying anything. Hence why my messages were getting ignored. So what was your plan? To just leave me hanging in silence and hope that I magically read your mind? What if I would have naively showed up at your studio to get in contact with you thinking that my messages weren't going through because your booking system was broke? Can you imagine how awkward that would have been?! All of this chaos could have simply been avoided if you would have put on your big girl pants and spoke up if something was bothering you. Lastly, the subliminals were for me. I would respect you more if you stood on business and not cower from your petty choice. If you were bold enough to block me with no explanation, ignore my messages, and post subs directly after I message you after instagram showed that you opened my message, then I expect for you to stand 10 toes down on your decision and own it. All the best to you, Ashley read more

I'm an eyebrow enthusiast as a Persian LA girly. I'm super picky about who touches my brows and Shalla is probably the second person in my 23 years of living that has touched my eyebrows! Service: 5 stars Value: 4 stars Ambiance: 4.5 stars It was easy to make a reservation online, and parking is actually validated in the lot (I found a meter and street-parked, which is more challenging). I did have to ask for directions as it was a bit confusing to find the location - the construction going on in some of the other spa suites also added to the confusion. All that aside, once I made it in, everything was fantastic. I hadn't been able to add a lip wax to my appointment when I booked, but she added it on no problem, and I left with my brows perfectly shaped. She was also very kind and friendly. Overall, I was very pleased and I'll definitely be back when I'm in town. read more

Shaila changed my appointment from 45 to 30 minutes without letting me know, so we didn't have time to do my brows. I booked the appointment 3 weeks in advance, pretty disappointed she would change it and not tell me. Update: I ended up being 6 minutes late Shaila and had booked time for both brows and lip. It would have made sense to say "sorry I cannot do brows" but to not take me at all felt pretty ridiculous to me. The way Shaila retold the conversation below is inaccurate. I thought I would be 10 minutes late, then updated to 6 minutes late. I posted the conversation below. After 3 times of her telling me she would not see me to even do 1 of the services, then, I said fine I would just go down the street to the threading place. What else am I supposed to do? I also explained the reason for being late which was the death of a friend. read more

Shaila is the absolute best for brows! I've been getting my brows done with Shaila for over five years and am a super fan. She is known for her effortless full brow and she delivers! I get many compliments on my full brows and the maintenance is low key. Shaila has done my brows for 15 years. She does amazing work and creates a great atmosphere for her clients. Highly recommend!!

Love Shaila! I moved to LA from NY and am very particular about my brows I had a meh experience at another spot in Santa Monica, and went on Yelp to find someone new. Shaila had great reviews so I figured I'd give her a try. I'm thrilled that I did. Shaila is meticulous and takes her time to get it right. She values a full brow too. 5 stars all the way! read more

my daughter and i have been having our brows done by shaila for several years now. we do not trust our brows to anyone else! shaila is an artist who takes pains to shape brows in the most flattering way for each individuals face. she spends a lot of time making sure we are satisfied with the result. our experience in shaila's studio is always a relaxing one as she makes it a priority to put her client's at ease. read more

Disappointing experience. I scheduled a brow wax/tint with Shaila. My appointment was for 1:45 and I walked in at 1:54 because I was having a tough time finding a place to park. At 1:54, Shaila is nowhere to be found. No note on door, no answer to my calls. Waited for about 7 minutes and at around 2:02pm she returns, and tells me she has no time to do my tint because I was late. Ummm, I was 9 minutes late which I know not ideal, but she was 7 minutes late. And I drove 30 minutes as a first time client. If every minute counts, don't disappear and then blame me for not having enough time to complete the appointment. read more

Shaila is a miracle worker. I'm not one to get my brows done because I didn't think there was much that could be done with them, but Shaila worked her magic and they look better than ever. She shaped them and tinted them slightly and I've actually never had fuller brows. Came in thinking I had skinny, overplucked, tadpole eyebrows and came out feeling like they were actually full and changed my appearance in the best way possible. Thank you thank you! read more

I've trusted Shaila with my brows for the past 7 years. She truly is a master of her craft. I cannot recommend enough!

She's fairly good but not the best. So I don't understand the arrogant attitude. If you have a busy life and need to reschedule appointments. Look somewhere else. She'll decline your appointment if you ever cancel on her. Clearly doesn't know how to do business. read more

Missed an appointment due to health matters and tried to rebook but told me should wouldn't take me as a client anymore..

I have to admit I'm a little disappointed. Shaila did a great job shaping my eye brows but that's it. For someone like me eyebrows are extremely important but so is my financial situation and the dent a beauty expense can put into my pocket. The charge.. It's $45 to get your eyebrows done. I have been to SO many estheticians and of all the amazing spas, and salons Shaila was the most expensive. Her products don't give the wow factor what so ever. The eye brow pencil is non retractable and must be sharpened-- I think I'll pass. Brow powder, not a good match. The ambiance of her little studio is adorable, but in all fairness $45 for a mediocre eye brow wax/pluck..? Id rather not. Just a few thoughts to ponder before you allow every other 5 star review to make up your mind. Here's to smart Yelpers that look for a good deal and receive amazing service! Kuddos to you my friends. Sheila was awesome! Did a great job similar personable! I wish I was in Santa Monica longer I'd ALWAYS GO TO HER

Found Shaila from Instagram and booked with her immediately! She was super friendly, and explained exactly why and how she did waxing, tweezing and henna tinting when I asked several questions. She has been waxing for over a decade and seemed really knowledgeable. I felt really comfortable right away with her! Her studio is also adorable! My brows look incredible and I love the way the henna tinting looks. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Amazing! Moved from NYC and needed to find a new brow place. She was so detailed and the space is clean! You can't go wrong!

Shaila is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! She transformed my lifeless eyebrows in to beautiful arches (see photos)!!! I don't have a lot of hairs to begin with and my brows are very light. I've been to several brow artists in the area, but I'm most content with Shaila's work. Shaila also has excellent customer service. She came in an HOUR early just to accommodate me. Who does that??? So awesome. And she's super friendly and has a bad ass style with tattoos on both arms. Meow. Also, she used to work at Kelley Baker. KB does good work, but their reviews online says they have bad customer service so I'm always scared to go. Can't wait to see Shaila again in a few months! read more

Yes!! Shaila is amazing. My new go-to for Brows. This is the first time ever, in the history of my life that I don't *need* to use pencil/powder/gel to shape my brows. I still like to, just to give it that extra oomph... but i don't look like a total weirdo if I rock a natural look. She has tinted and shaped them perfectly. I also brought my 4 month old son to my appointment and she was very sweet and accommodating about that. She is a warm, lovely person on top of it all. Highly, highly recommend!! read more
