You will see junior drivers from 5 years old all the way to the senior driver of 72 years old. They are all fast and cool to watch. My son races and loves spending our time at this 40 year old slice of history where NASCAR greats such as Jeff Gordon learned their race craft as youngsters. Best family environments build healthy fun times growing up and learning about the mechanics of a race car.

The track itself is very bumpy and with different pavement types used. Off track is never mowed and has surprise ankle breaking holes if you find yourself off track. Their cross-over races always run extremely over and fraught with terrible failures in the organizational department. As I recall their club races were also a story of either running way over or being ushered at a breakneck pace to get out of there at 3pm. Their lack of organization affects how well their starts go, post race tech and how enjoyable your time will be racing there.Generally speaking this is a track I wouldn't willingly race at anymore.

I visited with friends and we had a great time!…read more We checked in on the digital kiosks and then selected balaclava colors before waiting for our turn. At first I was confused why the wait time was so long when the space seemed almost empty, but we learned quickly that the more runs you do the better deal you get, and racing can be pricey. We opted for two rounds since we were new to it and didn't know how long it would take if we did more. Our first race took some time to be called for (about an hour), but we had much less downtime before our second one. While you wait there is an arcade area and a bar. One thing we noticed is that the staff in areas other than the racetrack are much less engaging- I think they must be bored from the lack of people interacting with them or working on things in other places. The bar was frequently unmanned and we learned that they don't offer tap water, only bottled. We also learned that while some packages come with food, if you don't time it correctly you may have to leave the food at the tables to head down to your race. It might be best to wait until after racing to order any food. While we didn't get food during the visit, we found it odd that a bunch of sliders and other food were just sitting around in the bar area unattended, getting cold. There's gotta be a better system. The team on the racetrack was engaged and nice. They made sure everyone was set up, strapped in, and that the races were organized and safe. I was TERRIBLE, but did get better my second round. Our group ended up having a lot of fun. Some things to note- they do put groups together and fill the extra spots with other racers so your group will be together but you may have different people in each heat (depending on how many rounds they bought and when they arrived). Riding with other groups means you may get bumped into and have people of VERY different skill levels. We definitely had some regulars in our group. When someone spins out or needs help all the karts stop so it can really interrupt the race, but I guess that's part of the experience. Overall it's a lot of fun but there's some room for improvement in their non-racing areas.

One gripe I have is that I wish the workers were a bit more attentive. We went on Monday and there wasn't anyone at the front desk for maybe 10minutes. They didn't have us watch the safety/instructional video which normally plays on a loop at the front of the pit gate. We had two double karts because our kids are young and we were put in a race with multiple other adults. The employees in the pit were good, one was a young lady who seemed new and a young man who obviously had much more experience. I'm on the shorter side and he recognized I needed the pedals adjusted and a booster seat. He also rechecked all our belts because the girl didn't put them on tight enough. So during our race we had to go slowly for the first lap, but then it was on! Unfortunately, I had to go slow because my daughter is small and apprehensive about the whole experience. I'm sure we were a hindrance for the faster racers, but most were very respectful and drove around us. One person in particular (an older black man who uses the name "007 Speed") hit me into the barrier 3 times and hit my husband and son's kart at least twice. He hit us with such force both of my kids have been complaining of neck pain. I told the experienced male employee but no consequences for Mr. 007 Speed even though each time he hit us they overhead announced, "No hitting other drivers or barriers. Next time you will be out of the race." When the race was done Mr. 007 Speed never acknowledged what he did or apologized. As we were leaving we saw him complaining at the front desk. So overall, I really like this place. It's geared for children and families, but definitely for anyone who wants to have fun. It would be ideal if they grouped drivers separately like they do for junior racers. Group adult racers with ones who have children/want a chill experience and a group for retirees trying to relive their glory days

The owner is a friend, but keep reading to find out why. The owner of Karting Concepts is very passionate about kart racing and his local club tracks in Davis ( BlueMax Kart Club ) and Folsom ( Prairie City SVRA - All Star Karting ). I've known him since 2013 in which he started a business relationship with the company that I work for. I'm used to getting sales pitches and other non-creative marketing tossed my direction from the racing circles, but Patrick was different. He urged me to come back out to the local track, Blue Max Kart Club and to try club racing again, with a Briggs and Stratton 206 powered kart. At first I had no interest because, "I'm a shifter guy!!!". I've been around karting since 1995, and my smiles come from driving a shifter kart, so a lawn mower engine package had no appeal to me. Patrick kept working on me to come out and give it a try. After about a year, I finally headed out to BlueMax for a club race and the class I entered had about 30 kart on the track. This shifter guy had a huge smile on his face, not because the karts are super fast like a shifter, but because the racing was intense and close. After I got out, I became an ambassador for the Briggs LO206 platform because it was a great start up package for all kart racers. I enjoyed a large field, close racing, and once I bought my own equipment, relatively affordable (by motorsports standards) cost to hit the track. Now over the years, Patrick and I have become friends. He has a real passion for the sport of karting, as do I. He is honest with people and he puts others first. If the world had more people with his temperament and personality, it would be a much better place. He has participated at all levels in the karting business. He had offered rental programs do introduce new people to the sport. He runs a side business to retail karts and parts. He has traveled to big national karting events to support customers. He has spent countless hours building the local kart club and growing membership numbers. Do I need to go on?

And is on the same floor as the Casino. It's really close to the parking garage. The temperature is warmer than the Casino and make it more pleasant. I don't belive you can smoke in the apex. I didn't even see anyone vaping either. Soon as we walked in the Apex we spotted the food court. They have really good deals on food and drink. There is no need to go to the steakhouse or Buffett if you are just looking for a quick meal of burgers or pizza or the like. In Addition this is a quick alternative if you don't want to waste time eating as you are more into playing games or gambling or watching a sporting event. $6 for a beer, $3 for a soda and $9 for a personal pizza. They have tacos, wings, burgers, salads and much more. All reasonably priced. See photo for pricing details. They have a nice looking sports bar with a full bar in the center and lots of tv screens and a giant ticker wraps around the room. They have DJ trivia Wednesday nights at 7pm. They offer hurricane slushy drinks and Kings drink specials. Behind the Sports bar they have virtual golf that looked fun. We saw 2 people playing. They even had the whole set of gloves in a bag. Next time we have to play golf. In the arcade we saw some people having fun in a virtual reality ride. The ride was swinging them all over as they looked thought there virtual reality googles. The arcade has lots of arcade games (like Mario and Harlow, motorcycle and car driving games.), pinball machines, and a giant claw machine. We didn't try any games on his trip. They have indoor Go-cart races that require you to wear a helmet. The track is all lit up with neon lights. It's a pretty big course from what I can see. Six people were exiting the course when we walked by. They were all excited, filled with adrenaline and chattering about the good time they had. Lastly they have a bowling alley, it was pretty big, but not big enough to hold a private event there and have free bowling at the same time. When we were there it was being used by a private event. They have 18 interactive lanes. SUN - FRI UNTIL 5PM | $40/HR PER LANE and FRI 5PM - SAT | $45/HR PER LANE. Pricy, but I think that's still around the price of our bowling alley is back home. Shoe rental is $5 and if they have socks on hand it's $3. This looks like a really fun place to hang out and store your kids for a few hours while you gamble. It is expensive though and all of the machines take their cash card, like the casino rewards card they have a card system so there is no spontaneity when it comes to wanting to play a single game or two. This is how our BlVD is back home in Sacramento and probably how Dave and Busters is so it's not uncommon, but I prefer putting cash in a machine. When you pay cash you aren't committed to using a certain amount or making sure you have the right amount on your card. I really avoid these places do to this. Back in SF you can go to the Musee and it's a cash business. That's more my style. Next time my husband said we're skipping the Buffett and eating here or the steak house. Though once he sees the prices of the steak house, we'll be coming here for a burger.
