Finally got to utilize the Groupon voucher and it turned out pretty good. My friends and I never…read moredrove "real" go karts before and felt pretty intimidated just from watching. After having all the instructions explained to us (how to get in, what to do, etc.), we signed a waiver then suited up. We wore long pants and closed toe shoes as suggested. We were provided a jacket, helmet sock, helmet, gloves, and a neck brace. We had to wait a bit (despite our 11:00 reservation) before actually starting. However, the reservation time wasn't a big deal. Just make sure you have a fairly open schedule when you decide to go. If you want to break up your racing sessions, you'll just have to let Patrick know. We ended up doing two ten minute sessions instead, which went by quicker than we thought! As for the karts... they can definitely get pretty fast and I was honestly a bit scared. I stalled about two times from slowing down too much, which was a little embarrassing. We were constantly reminded that we had to go faster whenever our karts got stuck and had to wait to get our engines started up again. There's bleachers for spectators and there's even bathrooms too! Overall, it was a good experience despite being noobs. People who have their own karts seem to come here often, so I don't think it's really meant for newbies to come and play. Luckily, my friends and I were mostly alone during our second session so it wasn't as scary. Also to note... they didn't really time us racing. They only timed the session rather than individual people during our visit.

Though I expect that they may be able to deliver something good, the fact was I was never able to use the Groupon as they would not return my calls or emails. More than two months of trying, including Groupon having contacted them, but still nothing! So, the one star here is definitely reflective of their inability to provide anything that even resembles adequate customer service. However, to be fair, it sounds like it may be worth it if you are able to get them to respond to you and set up a reservation.

The track itself is very bumpy and with different pavement types used. Off track is never mowed and has surprise ankle breaking holes if you find yourself off track. Their cross-over races always run extremely over and fraught with terrible failures in the organizational department. As I recall their club races were also a story of either running way over or being ushered at a breakneck pace to get out of there at 3pm. Their lack of organization affects how well their starts go, post race tech and how enjoyable your time will be racing there.Generally speaking this is a track I wouldn't willingly race at anymore.

I've never encountered this problem before at other races. I barely made it to the race on time. Actually, I had a few minutes left to spare since the race started a little late. The race was set to start at 7:00 PM. It wasn't much of a moonlight run for those of us that did the 5K or 10K. The sun was beaming brightly in my face. With the summer heat, there weren't enough water stations. What I loved most about this race were the glow-in-the-dark t-shirts. I would consider doing this race again, if I ever get myself to the half marathon level because the finisher medals were awesome and also glowed-in-the-dark.

There were about 1500 people for the half marathon (based on bib numbers) - but it seemed like such a huge crowd. The route goes through Davis neighborhoods and on a lot of trails over campuses and parks. A few citizens were friendly enough to stand out front with hoses to spray willing runners (I wish there were more nice people doing that!). Despite the heat and my body not being happy with it, I stuck it out for my worst half marathon time ever. I also met a LOT of nice dogs (I decided to stop for at least two cups of gatorade at every station and pet every dog on the way, plus walking 2 miles with an ankle cramp and stopping twice for toilets - finished in 2:05). The event was run pretty smoothly - they had official timing spots all throughout the route - and there were some great sponsors - Zico was there once again with their awesome coconut water, and I had a great big chunk of the heart of a watermelon at the snack tent (yum!). I kind of wanted to get the ladies cap sleeve blue and white shirt but didn't see it on sale anywhere! I like running later in the day (instead of the usual 7am) and I like warmer temperatures but I'm not sure I'm up for low 90s again, that was exhausting!

It was my first run, so I decided to do the 7K and had a friend sign up with me. We picked up our bib numbers and t-shirts on the day of the race. I was worried there was going to be a long line, but there wasn't a line at all. The porta-potties, however, had a long line. I would say that we waited for about 30 minutes for her to use the facilities. We missed the start time. The start and finish line was at Davis High School. The course went through the Community Park and the North Davis greenbelts and residential streets. It was narrow at some spots. The uphill onto the bridge in the beginning and then again at the end was killer. I suggest more water stations. When I stopped at the first one, I was asked if I wanted water or Gatorade. "Both," I exclaimed! The course was well organized. There was a lot of people who made sure you were going the right way and cheering runners on. What I found motivating was the signs that informed runners what mile they are on. It helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. My personal goal was met. When I checked my time online, I did much better than I thought I could've. The results also tell you how well you did within your age division. Now I'm waiting for pictures to be uploaded onto their website. Afterwards, we checked out the exhibitors. There was water, fruit (apples, bananas, and oranges), and bagels provided. I also got some Jelly Belly Sports Beans, SunRype fruit & veggie strip, Zico (Pure Coconut Water), popchips, PowerBar Performance Energy Bar and PowerBar Energy Gel. Sudwerk Brewery was also selling beer. I passed on that. Next year I'm hoping to do the half marathon!

Packet pickup is business as usual, on the sidewalk in front of Fleet Feet Davis and you did have options to upgrade shirts from cotton to tech or choose participant medals as well if you didn't already get one (half marathon finishers have their own medal). Parking was tough, considering all the different distances to choose from; the high school lot was full so I parked in a residential stretch of Oak Ave. The route takes you through North Davis Greenbelt, and all runners started together, only to diverge along the course as directed by volunteers, when things start to thin out and you find a good pace. I'm always amazed when the courses meet up again and lo and behold, the half marathon leader (and bike pacer) pass me up on my left. Oh well! I got the black cotton shirt and the participant medal was nicely sized, green/red enamel, yellow glittery ribbon. Wore my bright green Lucky Run women's tech shirt from 2012. A good race, unique in its distance and a nice early way to celebrate St. Pat's!

If you are going to be a renter and you don't own any belongings and you have a very small car that…read moreyou don't ever wash then you'll be ok living here. If you are a normal, reasonable person that values your privacy then you will not like living here. I will work up to the latest draconian restrictions in a bit. It has been increasingly less enjoyable living here with every new restriction they implement. Every month we are reminded to put our trash totes back in our garages. If you leave yours out for too long they will put a note on it. The trash totes and compost bins attract bugs and rodents yet we are forced to keep them in our garage. Newest rules are "no bird feeders" and "keep your screen door closed or remove it entirely." Now let's get to the garage issue. In one newsletter to the residents it was mentioned that garages are for parking cars and not for storing things. Anything you do store must be kept in a cardboard box or a plastic bin. Then the random garage inspections occurred. No notice as to when they were happening other than it would happen during the next month. We were also not allowed to be present. Now the inspections are to happen quarterly. They actually went in our garages, took pictures, and emailed us telling us to clean them up and get rid of things. They claim they will enforce fines yet they won't reference any specific rules. There are so many more details and insight that I can include but this review would go on forever. To summarize, there are unreasonable restrictions and invasion of privacy laws that they are violating, and our right to a peaceful habitation as well. Seriously consider if you want to live under these conditions and if the promise of a low rent for a few months is worth it to you. I already know some people that are moving out or plan to move out because of the conditions here.

Then why the heck are you nosing around inside the garage. Inside the garage is not even where the complaint he was responding to was said to be. He also seems to have taken credit for fixing something that wasn't even in need of it. Not thrilled. I don't even want to leave a half a star
