Amazing staff. Midway has been bought by a new owner, I believe 1 year ago from this post. So the reviews from long time ago does not apply to Midway now. There's new staff and foundations. Ben always sure knows how to spice the game modes. Everyone was very friendly. The 3rd picture with more clouds was taken earlier this year in January and from then to now (1st and 2nd pics), they have done excellent job renovating the place. I like the over hang they put on the registry area, the staging area is clean, and I also like that they moved the chrono station and added more nets for safety. Still can't wait what they will turn the place into in the next couple of months especially their anniversary is coming up. Hopefully the air ball field will be more accessible. read more

Great spot for a day of paintball with friends. The facilities are a bit busted and overgrown, but that isn't the end of the day for a place you're paintballing. Definitely recommend a private group if you're just looking for a casual game. The public players are intense. read more

Love the Friday night games! This place is awesome. The new owners have a great vision for this location.

fun i come here all the time very good for the family and friends. the staff are amazing and they always have fun ideas and gamemodes.

If you don't mind vulgar disrespectful players yelling the N word around younger kids the entire game (on and off the field) then this is for you. We played yesterday for my son's 11th birthday and it was ghetto! The ref warned the group of teens to keep their masks on all morning and they kept taking them off, shooting their guns while walking to the fields (I got hit from one of them who was firing before the game even started), shooting point blank, and not getting off the field when shot/hit. Rules don't apply at this place for rentals or day use players. read more

The whole crew was so awesome! Loved their cancellation policy even though I didn't need to use it but much better than other facilities in the area. Make sure you stop at the visitors center to pick up your visitor pass before you try to drive through the gate. And make sure you fill out the adult pass to the military base before you arrive. read more

As a birthday present for my son I took him and my best friend as well as his son to a paintball facility that has taken care of me for 10+ years 6/27/20. The owners Aaron and Holli Smith are very friendly people and run a professional setting especially for the sport of paintball. I have been out the sport for quite awhile and took the opportunity to introduce my son to the sport as well as come back to a place I called home every Sunday. Nothing has changed, I had fun as usual and most importantly my son and our friends had a great time and loved the sport. I just want to add a note due to the unfortunate reviews I have been reading today, I am colored and been coming here for years and the community that come here and some that call this place home are very diverse. Before you judge this place based on reviews that are given because of what they read or watched WITHOUT THE FULL STORY, come here for yourself and get to know the owners and staff, after that make your own judgement. There's always a full story beyond the videos we see or what story what one side says. THESE ARE GENUINELY GOOD PEOPLE read more

I brought my son for his 16th Bday since he's been here multiple times with other parties. We realized two of our group couldn't make it so I contacted this place to see if they can credit us and they didn't. I will NOT come back here because they are not will to accommodate anything. It's expensive to book and they should credit if less shows up. Very disappointing and that never pickup the phone when you call either. Poor customer service!!!! read more

I have been a frequent player and customer of Midway Paintball and all I have to say is that the field owners are nothing but professional, kind, respectful and most down to earth people. The community loves them for all of the things they have done for them! This facility is a safe and family oriented place where everyone comes to have fun. The refs on the field are great too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a safe and fun place to play paintball. read more

We celebrated my son's 15th birthday with a few of his friends at Midway Paintball and I am so glad that we did! The staff was friendly and helpful. They are responsive and accommodated my Groupon with ease. The boys enjoyed having multiple fields to choose from and altogether had a great experience. What really made me give this great review was the fact that I left my ID (on hold for the equipment) at the facility and the host, Holli, mailed it back to me the same day I contacted them. Such great people and service that's hard to come by now a days. read more

Booked the 8-10 year old party and FYI, the "soft pellets" are not soft. Had a couple of bloody knuckles and crying boys after they were hit in certain areas. I think they still had fun but it was definitely more painful than we thought it would be. Come prepared. read more

4.5 A group of 4 of us went on easter sunday with the yelp $40 admission + rental coupon. The cost of the paint balls was $20 for 500 which we went through 5 bags of. We arrived at 1030 for the easter sunday special starting time. They had a easter egg hunt special event paintball battle but it started at 2pm so we were unable to participate although it sounded very fun. We stayed until 145 and played about 9 games during the span. Being our first time playing paintball it was a good experience. I recommend a bringing a cap to protect your neck from cross fires as getting hit could cause welts. The staff was very friendly and they put safety as a high priority. I would recommend this place to others wanting to try this place out. Since Im from the bay area its a little out of my way though. You can go shopping at the outlets after though or go to davis for sushi buffets! My only knock on this place is the fact paintballing is an expensive sport. If you going to be a regular I highly recommend buying your own equipment as the paintballs especially here are very expensive but I understand that this business needs to make $ some how. read more

So, I left a review on Midway a while back, and I was very displeased with my experiences. That being said - pretty much everything I complained about in my initial review is a non-issue at Midway Paintball now. The owner, Aaron, went above and beyond in immediately rectifying all the issues at the field, including installing new netting (which is a very expensive investment to make) and revamping the staff. The owners of Midway clearly listen to the criticism they're given by their patrons which is a great sign that the field is run by good people who care about the Paintball community. I wish I could edit my old review or even delete it at this point because Aaron, Holly and Midway have done quite a stellar job in making sure a review like that never shows up on this page again. In the year since my review, the field has been dramatically improved and I reccomend anyone from the Vacaville area check it out, it's worth the trip. read more

I would select 10 stars for this place if it gave me the option. This place has it all and they cater to all as well from 7 year olds to if your'e still alive and can pull a trigger. The owners and staff are wonderful and have treated us like family since day one. The staff members aren't your regular high school/ college kid, just needing a quick summer job, they're dedicated and passionate about what they do and provide excellent customer service. They make sure everyone has a safe, fair and fun experience at Midway. We celebrated our son's birthday party here two years in a row now and plan to have it here again next year. Midway truly accommodates kids from the 7 year old to 10 year old range by providing them with the low impact, GOG .50 cal paintball markers that only shoot at around 140 feet per second, vs the adult markers that shoot .68 cal at 280 FPS. We did not have one single kid cry from getting hit. They had so much fun there that they kept talking about it at school the following week. My own kids want to play there every week now! It was simple planing a party there, we called a few weeks ahead of time to book a date. On the day of the party, we purchased a few boxes of pizza from the local Costco near by (there's other pizza places in the area as well), drinks, donuts and cake from the near by Safeway and DONE! So easy, even a non party planner Dad like myself can do it. I've played this sport for over 20 years, at different fields all around the country and have to say, this is one of the best fields out there! read more

"C'mon mom! You've got to go!" Planning my daughter's b-day party, they were pushing me to try it out. I was on the fence as to whether I was going to do this or not. Then I was in line at Walmart & this older Grandma said she'd done it. Well, crap, now I've got to go! And I'm glad I did! Be prepared to run, sweat, bend, crawl & yes, get hit. But, you'll have a great time doing it! From the very start, everyone is easy to deal with. I spoke to Holli over the phone & made our reservations. I forgot to mention my groupon at that time, but she was happy to honor it at check in. $20 a person, this included equipment rental- mask, gun, a chest plates for the ladies & ammunition. We ran out of ammo, but they sell more if needed. Check in time was 12:30, paint balling from 1:00-4:00. There's also a morning time slot of 9:30 if you prefer. We had a mixture of experienced players in our group. Myself & another member were first timers. My daughter & one of her friends had been once before. Then there was my eldest son, who has been multiple times. Safety is their first priority. With good reason. This is no joke! That sh*t hurts! They take their time to go over all the rules & answer questions. First round out I was hit in the thigh. Damn! That stung! I knew it would leave a bullseye! Other battle wounds included the hand, made me bleed! Then my ankle- that one left a mark too. Getting hit in the mask didn't hurt at all. My son was hit in the forehead- just above the mask- ouch! Along with many others. Be sure to wear long sleeves. A hooded sweatshirt is good too. Good running shoes, and gloves, (wish I had some!) and clothes you don't mind getting beat up a bit. It'll all come out in the wash! There are 5 fields to play on. We did 4. There's a referee with you throughout the day. They're very good about keeping it fair & fun. Covered picnic tables are available and they have port-a-potties to use. It's very rustic- it's paint ball! They have some refreshments for sale, but I recommend bringing an ice chest full of cold drinks. Cody took good care of us the whole time, so I took care of him at the end. I tipped him $20 to thank him. It's important to tip these guys if you can. They deserve it! As I finish this review, it's the next day & I am sore! I think I'm crazy- I'd go again! read more

First time back here since new ownership - probably gonna stick to Davis PB and CEPP from now on. The refs are alright, at getting groups together and making sure everyone is masked/barrel plugged, however - they spend the vast majority of the game on the sidelines and do not actively check players when requested, not good. They were friendly, though. The fields activity was so-so which I expected during Covid - paint is stored in a standard shipping crate, temperature isn't controlled, bought a box of top shelf here that shot worse than the cheapest stuff I've ever had due to the conditions it was left in, and I found myself swapping barrel backs as the day warmed up due to this, also resulting in dimpled balls with no clear flight path. Another star gone... The biggest concerns I have, however - is that the field personnel is NOT checking tanks for Hydro certification and allowing people to fill a tank that hasn't even been checked. I personally met two people that say they go to Midway because they don't have to get their tank hydrostatically tested... one call to DOT and Midway has a lot of problems on their hands. There is also a lack of netting into the chrono area behind the spool field, which leads to everyone taking a couple rounds while they chrono... not a good experience. Long story short - refs were nice, but did everything but properly ref games. Field is not up to standards, both of safety and presentation, the crowd that shows is tiny on Saturday even compared to Davis. I've been playing paintball for 18 years, I avoided Midway when the HK kids took over back in 2007, decided to give it another shot and was even more disappointed this go around as I was then. read more

This paintball place is a steal. For as low as $35 you can get a group of people to start a game. This facility had about 4 fields that we used. It was incredibly hot in Vacaville but compared to my previous paintball experience where I paid close to $70 a person in Santa Clara this was the way to go. Staff were nice to us and a great day was had by all. They don't sell food here so you can order pizza in or there is a liquor store down the street where you can scrounge up something to eat. I suggest driving someplace nearby to eat. read more

The boys keep begging to come back every weekend! Everyone here is amazing. The refs keep the game fun, clean, and safe. They don't sit long in between games. Holly one of the owners is very sweet. Since our first time coming, she remembers us and always asks if the boys have questions that one of refs can help them with. We got them their own guns for Christmas an don't know much about them. They've made some amazing suggestions to help us out to help expand the fun for the kids. Its like a big family here once you come a few times. A MOMS SUGESTION: Protection is a must! Also water and snacks. Extra clothing is advised just in case one of the fields are muddy after the rain or someone gets lit up like the color of the rainbow. .. Also some wash clothes to wipe the sweat off their faces. AND a bag of ice for any MAJOR PROBLEMS haaa.... read more

Booked a paintball party for my son using a Groupon. With the groupon you basically pay for paintballs, the gun and use of the field is included. The paintballs weren't cheap and understand we could get them a lot cheaper elsewhere. Can't comment on the fields or play as I didn't partake. The picnic area are pricnic benches, some under some shade. An outhouse for a bathroom. Parking on a dirt lot. People there were pretty nice. The refs or whoever coordinates the games did a good job. Overall, the boys had a really fun time. A couple of minuses - its out in the boonies a little ways off I80 but right off 505 and the sparse facilities. No food need to bring your own. But I guess if all you want is a shootout its OK. read more

The first time I paint balled was thirty years ago, and it was in intimidating experience. My brothers and I wore our most neutral colored OP shorts and Hang Ten t-shirts, thinking we would be sufficiently camouflaged. But we were dismayed when we arrived to see we were the only people not wearing army surplus camouflage. And the atmosphere was like a locker room before a championship game; you could almost smell the testosterone. Midway is a completely different experience (thankfully). I've been paint balling a handful of times over the last 30 years (yikes!), and this is the best facility I've been to. There's no escaping the slightly macho vibe when paint balling, but this place is the most diverse I've been to; it's not full of military wannabes who likely have a basement full of supplies for the zombie apocalypse. I've never seen such a diverse crowd of families, genders, experience levels and ages at a paint ball facility. The staff prides themselves--rightly so--on their customer service. We were helped by the owner's son (so sorry I forgot his name), and he made a couple of accommodations for us that I greatly appreciated. Also, they were mindful of skill levels, which I greatly appreciated since I had a group of kids with me. I've been to other facilities where they match you against a bunch of league players with their own equipment. It's nice not to be slaughtered. They have several different outdoor courses, which requires you to change tactics slightly. The other players were for the most part friendly and helpful. If you've been wanting to try paintball, have a group outing to plan, etc., I highly recommend going to Midway. read more

If it was possible to rate 0 stars, I would. I was witness to the most unprofessional establishment I have come across in my life. An african american family had dropped trash, and rather than just send a worker to pick it up, or even just asking "Would you mind picking up your trash?" they proceeded to call the police on them for vandalism, and only escalated the situation further and further, even going as far as to reach under the counter, making it evident that he was going for a gun. This whole situation was handled very unprofessionally, and a legitimate establishment would issue an apology, but judging by the choices already made, I'm almost certain that will not happen. What a shame. read more

Considering it's an outdoor venue, it's not bad. They have ample covered picnic tables and uncovered parking. There's about 3 portable potty, and surprisingly it's pretty clean. This place has 6 different courses including a Minecraft one that the kids love. They have dedicated staff for the kids. On the day we went, it was burning hot at close to 103 degrees. Bring plenty of food and water as there's no concession stand (but about 1/4 mile down the road, there's a country style general store that's nice and clean and sells plenty of snacks). read more

Went sometime this summer, but just had a chance to write a review now. Was excited because we had a groupon, but didn't have as much fun as we would have liked. We had a large group...10 of us. We originally asked them if the 10 of us could stay together and battle another group of 10. They said no and randomly split up our entire group! WTH. People were rude there and the boys who were being refs seems to not really care about the actual customers. There was one exception, one boy was good and actually cared, we gave him a good tip. Unfortunately we were never really paired with him. We gave them a 2 because they did eventually split us up after I complained that we were not having fun. But it was only the final game we played. ALSO, they mixed us with AUTOMATIC GUNS people. That sucked big time. First time doing paintball and pretty much got murdered. I won't go back here. Also, if they make you play zombies...don't play...that's a way for you to waste all your paintballs and your game will be over quickly! read more

Lots of paintball fun to be had here! Great prices, you can't beat them. The refs are friendly. The owners are present and do what they can to make sure everybody's having fun and following safety rules. There's shaded picnic tables, several different play fields, clean port-a-potties. No food or vending machines so BYO! They get crowded on the weekends, so if you plan on renting, then definitely book online! You also save $5 if you do. Plenty of parking. My only issue is they only have 2-3 available refs, so on a busy day the wait between games can get long. read more

Very cool place. Took my 12 y/o son and some of his friends there for his birthday. The facility has several different fields to play on and the staff is great. The rental cost for about three or four hours of play is $40 and that includes the gun the paintballs and a facemask. There are also picnic tables in the front where everyone can gather. Be warned however. Paintballs can hurt so dress accordingly. Where passed clothing and consider a hoodie or something to protect your neck and the back of your head. If the weather is wet, consider bringing some cleats and most definitely, some towels to sit on in the car on the way home. You will be muddy and you will be covered in paint.
