Here, in Dickson City you're…read moreobligated to get to the restaurant at an earlier time than normal dining because this place will be absolutely out of control packed to the gills and the wait time will be abysmal. Took wifey here one day for a steak as my change in diet doesn't allow for the consumption of it anymore. We got there at 4:30pm and got a table really quick which was strange. The wait staff was friendly and warm which considering the volume of diners these people serve was really welcoming. Ticket times for the food was as you would expect, a little wait, but not a lot. Wifey ordered a filet medium with sides. Her filet came at the requested temperature. (better be at a steak house lol). I ordered the fish and chips since Roadhouse uses soybean oil to fry food in. The fish was cornmeal crusted catfish. That was exciting, catfish might be something people stray from due to fattiness and maybe muddy flavor. Overall, the meals were good. Comes with bread too. The prices weren't too bad, not too crazy for steak as you'd think. By the time we left we couldn't leave, too many people in the foyer blocking the door lol. We had to snake our way out. I'd return to Roadhouse again.

My steak is always cooked perfectly, and in the rare instances over the years that something was not right, our server has been happy to make it right. Years back they moved to a new and larger location, but it still seems to be too small and understaffed. No matter what time you go, it's an hour plus wait with very limited seating at the bar. Once you get in, the meal is great, but prepare for an at least 2.5 hour adventure.

We were seated in a cozy back room with a fireplace. We started off with a couple Caesar salads to share, and it was honestly one of the best I've had. The croutons were so good I wanted to ask for a bag to go. We all got steaks for our entrees. My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and super tender. The au poivre sauce wasn't our favorite, but the béarnaise and shallot butter were really good. For sides, we ordered the carrots, potatoes au gratin, mashed potatoes, and truffle fries. Sides are large and can definitely feed 2-3 people. Tbh, sides fell short compared to the steak. The potatoes were a little bland. The carrots were the favorite among the sides. Our server was amazing and even offered us a ride to Shenanigans, which was unexpected but so nice.

I ordered the broiled seafood which came with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. I loved it. My husband got prime rib. It was fine just as he asked but it was only lukewarm. For dessert, I got the vanilla cake with brown butter bourbon sauce, which comes with vanilla ice cream. It was good but I wish it had more sauce on it. My husband got ice cream topped with amaretto and he got 3 full scoops of ice cream! I also got decaf coffee and she made a fresh pot for me, which I appreciated. We didn't see all the renovations that they did recently but we liked what we did see.

As we went for looking for steak we decided to order both. The steak with butter sauce with fries was passable. The owner of this restaurant, who also owns Settlers Inn, The Dock and Ledges needs to get over to Carbondale to check out this location and make some improvements!

The General manager contacted me today asking "What was wrong with our chicken and fish dinners they weren't STEAK that's what was wrong. I asked my friends to drive a long way to meet me there for STEAK not chicken and fish which we were forced to eat as an alternative. We there for STEAK and should have been told when the reservations were made that they would not have any. Also our meals were rushed and served when we were less than half way through our overpriced $13.00 salads which we had to leave behind to eat our entrees. This is NOT a STEAK House by any stretch of the imagination, and I am embarrassed that I asked my friends to drive miles and miles to meet me there when a local diner would have been far superior.

We are excited to go to this restaurant because we have been there a few times before and the service and quality of the food was very very good. The time was the same just with a few adjustments. Of course it is a very busy restaurant and a very enjoyable dining experience. when our waitress who was very attentive asked if we wanted appetizers, and if we were celebrating anything, we did notify her that it was our anniversary that we had received a text message saying that we would be able to have a free appetizer. We did not have that text message, but they were very willing to honor a gift certificate. We enjoyed our appetizer and the bread and oils that they brought to us. Our entrées were ordered, and we had only a few hiccups with the temperatures of the meat. My wife and ordered a steak that would be well done and myself a medium rare steak. Upon arrival for hers, it was undercooked, but paced back on the grill and taken care of with no delay and hassle My steak was undercooked as well, but I had medium rare and it was just rare. They took mine entrée and took it back to the kitchen and recooked itiwith no discrepancy or issues. Upon our referred entrées, we had become full of the delightful bread oils and our appetizer that we were no longer able to continue on with our dinner due to being full. The experience was good and worth the time however there was some disappointment only because the kitchen was full and we had refilled the meals a few times. However, then management was very understanding and came over and talked to us about our concerns, and we explained that we were very excited to eat here and that we understood how busy they were and continue to plan return returning to the restaurant on a less busy night. The management said that the meal was on the restaurant that night and apologized for the inconvenience. I'm leaving the restaurant. The manager only has that we give the restaurant a second chance and come back. We will return to this restaurant. We enjoyed the ambience and the staff and my excellent excellent food.

The food was average, not worth the elevated pricing. The server was rude. We won't be back.read more
