My husband surprised me with a sixty- minute Deep Tissue massage today at Karma Spa. Nancy was my masusse. She did an amazing job! I prefer a heavy touch because my back and neck are where I hold on to stress. A light touch doesn't get out the knots. She is very attuned to the body and knew just where the knots were, how long to work on them, and when to let up before it became too painful. I walked out a new person. The staff was very pleasant and professional. The place was very clean and I'll definitely be back! read more

Got a great massage awhile back here. They have great prices and the services are definitely worth it. Just noticed they aren't taking appointments. I'm hoping to come back soon when it reopens! read more

So I was really excited for this place because I saw all the awesome reviews on yelp. I booked a massage for 90 minutes along with the body detox for 15 minutes. So into the massage. It was seriously the worst massage I've gotten in my life. It was also the most painful massage I've ever received. The women who was massaging me constantly would dig into my back and shoulder blades, going deeper ever time. I was silently screaming while I was face down in the massage table. She didn't ask me how the pressure was during the massage at all either. Another issue I had was my 90 minute massage was only 60 minutes....I was confused on why it was cut short but I'm honestly glad it was. My back was sore going in and coming out that massage I felt more pain in my back. One more thing, the ladies doing the massage were constantly talking. Is it me or during a massage it's supposed to be quiet and peaceful. The body detox now. I wouldn't recommend it. You may like it but it's 15 minutes of your feet soaking in water while you lay on your back. It was honestly a little awkward because your feet dangle off the table into a bucket where they cram your feet. It was slightly uncomfortable. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place, unless you like very painful massages where they dig into your body, or are constantly talking during your massage read more

Before I booked an appointment I called and asked about the Swedish massage with medium pressure. I asked if the massage therapist would use her hands NOT her arm for the pressure. The receptionist assured me that she would use her hands and not her arms. Not true. She did start out with her hands/fingers on my shoulders and upper spine. That's it. Then came the arm and swishing hand motion with no pressure. I told the receptionist after it was over what happened. She said she was not the receptionist earlier and that she would let her know not to tell people that they don't use arms. She said it was a Chinese massage and they all use their arms. Room was musty and stuffy. How did they get any good yelps? read more

I love this place. I've been going here about once a month since October last year, at least. It's exactly what I was looking for, affordable and professional. My massage therapists are always sweet and everyone has their own style but they are all really good, I've been to about 3 or 4 different female massage therapists. Its clean the music is relaxing and I always leave feeling better with less tension overall. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Literally the best message I've ever had!!! I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant and I went to a masseuse in Escondido and it sucked so bad I literally wasted an hour of my time. The lady at Karma spa was so good, I gave her a $30 tip and I would've given her more if I had it on me! read more

After a long trip to San Diego, a much needed massage. My husband and I came to San Diego to celebrate my bday and a massage was a most. The service was great. Make sure to ask for first timer specials. Check in on yelp! An useful coupon pops up. We got a 90 minutes couples massage and our appointment was at 3. We arrived at 3, used the restroom and filled a form they give you. I mention this because this took some time and the massage stopped exactly at 4:30. I recommend to arrive a few mins early so you get the full 90 mins read more

I've had some incredible massages, some really good massages and some ok massages at this establishment in a high trafficked, upscale and well located strip mall. I have had in the neighborhood of 5-10 massages here and my thoughts are that it is a quiet and peaceful but not over the top atmosphere, solid service, accommodating and on demand availability and a guaranteed solid treatment. I absolutely recommend this place to everyone. You will not be disappointed. read more

I would highly recommend, Owen, for any massage. The other's seem to stay locked in "system" (if you know what I mead), while Owen is very intuitive. Very competitive prices as well. My typical is a 90 minute massage. Front desk is very friendly and professional. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a facial and ended up seeing Cindy. I was in a bit of a cranky mood bcs I hadn't found the place right away and it ate into my facial time. Well it didn't deter Cindy at all. She was so sweet and caring and by the end of the appointment, I was happy to have stuck around for the appt and even happier that I've met her. Since then, I see her every few weeks and my skin hasn't looked better. Her caring persona and cheerful demeanor make my appointment that more relaxing. I'm happy to have visited the Spa. That said, the Spa itself is very nice and well kept, I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be a loyal customer! read more

I was very pleased with my last two visits at Karma Spa. I have also booked services for my husband and he was pleased. It's not high end, but I wouldn't have gone if it was something as snooty as that. I have previously had the Prenatal Massage service and now the Deep Tissue Massages and I've left relaxed and feeling much better than when I entered. I don't remember who my female providers were, but Owen and just recently Jack are amazing at the Deep Tissue. If you're looking for a nice staff and a no nonsense massage, Karma Spa is the place to go. I'm thinking of trying some of their other services as well. read more

This a consistently great place to get a massage! We are never disappointed. They have kept their fees reasonable which makes getting a massage regularly a possibility. read more

Best massage I've ever had! It was mine and my husbands first time there and we decided to get a couples massage! The facility was serene and clean and front staff were very friendly! The room was private with 2 massage tables and was very relaxing! Can't speak highly enough about our massage professionals! Owen was the absolute best! He used the right amount of pressure and went from head to toe! So thorough, relaxing and just what we needed! Very fairly priced and worth every penny! My husband and I love this place and will definitely be returning in the near future! Highly recommend Karma spa and their services! read more

I used to love this place but it's going down hill. I just got a "Deep Tissue Massage" that was hardly even light pressure. The person also barely touched the area I told her to focus on. It was a waste of my time. This is the third subpar experience in a row and I'll find a new establishment on the next. The price is inexpensive so I'll give it 2 stars but if quality matters, then you may be disappointed. read more

Visiting Oceanside for the first time, my husband & I wanted to get couples massage. Karma Spa has huh reviews so we decided to try it out. OMG so happy we did!!! One of the best massages I've had in my life. Highly recommend most definitely!!!!!! read more

Honestly one of the best places to get a nice relaxing massage. I had a 60 minute massage with Bella yesterday and she just gave the perfect amount of pressure that had me leaving like a brand new person. Highly recommend for anyone who just needs to relax after long/stressful days. read more

Too intense (painful) for a Swedish massage and had specifically asked for low intensity. Too much oil/lotion (ended up excessively in private parts). Kept asking "are you okay" which was After painful instead of during, and asked so many times (50+ times in an hour?) the massage was not relaxing at all. Requested feet as an area of concern, better foot massage at the nail salon. Will never go back. Peter was massage therapist. Was thrilled to get out of there. Only giving a 2 because the facility was okay and staff was polite. read more

It was the worst massage ever! Do not go there if you're used to professional and courteous masseuses! At one point the man sat on the table straddling my lower back and proceeded to try to massage my upper back! I was horrified and the entire time I just want to leave. He ended the massage early, thank God, yet I was charged for the full amount of time. It was absolutely horrific! read more

I pulled a muscle in my shoulder this week and was in a ton of pain!! My husband called Karma this afternoon and the receptionist was so friendly and was able to get us both in within the next hour! Unfortunately I don't remember the names of our massage therapists but they were both AMAZING!! My lady focused on my problem area in my shoulder and also made It very comfortable and relaxing. The environment is very clean and they have a nice waiting room before you go into the massage rooms. I have had my share of massages and used to work at a chiropractic office that had massage therapy so I've experienced quality massage and Karma is definitely one of those!! I wish they had one up in Orange County where we live now but it's seriously worth the drive! read more

Was able to get in last minute for a sauna sesh. This place is perfect, so clean and relaxing with great vibes and aromas. Glad I found this place and will definitely be back! read more

My whole body is sore. Neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, thighs, feet, everything! I got an hour full body, deep massage. It was not DEEP at all. It honestly just felt like the lady was rubbing me with lotion and just here and there she would go deep but was not enough to release any kind of tension. The pressure was close to none. Only massage she did well was my neck but other then that I feel exactly the same. She was kind to me so I tipped her, but will not be coming back. Very disappointed for $60 plus tip. Definitely the worst massage I've ever had in my life. I'd also like to add that I am a 4'9 girl and if I can't feel anything that says a lot. read more

I had an amazing time at Karma Spa when I had both a luxurious facial and afterwards an hour massage. I was surprised how decadent the facial was with all of its layers of cream and polish and even massage. My skin glowed afterwards and the lines of stress has diminished from my face. The masseuse was extremely caring and sensitive to the state of my body. She worked my knots just the right about to listen them slowly instead of too much pressure at once. By the time my visit was over I felt like I had a vacation. Rested I drive home and immediately had an excellent night of sleep. Highly recommended and gorgeously designed. Check out the golden fish. read more

Came here for a couples massage today at 11. Made the appointment the night before online so that was super convenient. Checked us in no problem and didn't wait very long. The masseuses were very nice, calming and professional. Asked us periodically in the massage if we were okay and how the pressure was. Both my boyfriend and I thought that they were able to pay attention to specific spots where we had extra tension which was also nice of them. To be totally honest I was hesitant to come here after reading some negative reviews about the service and the professionalism of the masseuses, but was pleasantly surprised in my experience. I would recommend and I will come back in the future. read more

My fiancé and I went for a couples massage as we both wanted to de stress. While the entrance is nice the ambiance lacked. The waiting room we were seated was noisy and we were able to hear the reception area. Phone ringing and conversations. The waiting room was the area that was meant for quietness and preparing for the massage. Once on the room the room was bright with no candles or feeling of relaxation. No scents or oils that gets you on the relax mood. Once the massage started there was no way to fully get in the relaxation mode as we could hear the next room conversation as well as receptionist convo. Overall the massage was good but It could use more quietness and use of relaxing oils or lotions that put one in a relaxing mode. While the receptionist was very friendly and nice I don't know that we would recommend. read more

This was an amazing experience! I honestly had never had a massage before and I went for the Asian Body Scrub. I feel amazing and they made me feel so comfortable. Highly recommend and will go again! read more

LADIES, PLEASE READ: I will NEVER come here again! Therapists are NOT licensed or even trained massage therapists and mine was extremely unprofessional as HE kept touching me with his groin. I had a free afternoon without my husband and kids and thought I'd treat myself to a massage. I loved how easy it was to choose an appointment using their website. So convenient! I was shocked I was able to get an appointment within the hour and they were also running a special for $39 for new customers. I read some reviews online and thought nothing was bad enough to deter me. The spa itself is very clean, tastefully decorated, and relaxing. The young woman behind the counter was welcoming. I didn't mind having a male masseuse when she kindly asked me. PETER was assigned to me and kindly walked me back. Everything was going well (nothing spectacular and certainly not like any massages I've received before from professionals) until half way through the session, I started to notice something firm-ish (ugh) rhythmically touching my hand as I laid face down on the table with my hands up over the covers. I'm used to the masseuses stomachs or what have you bumping into my as they massage my back so I didn't think too much about it. .... until it kept happening and I started thinking about what it was (EEEEK!). HE WAS PRESSING HIS GROIN AGAINST MY HAND!! In desperation to try to enjoy my massage, I kept telling myself it was a roll of quarters or something in his pocket. I know this sounds funny and now that it's over I can laugh about it. I kept inching my hand away and closer to my sides but the roll of quarters was persistent and kept following my hand! I finally just shoved my arms underneath my body and in very broken english, Peter asked if I was ok. I told him I don't like my hands being touched and I think he got the idea because the roll of quarters went away. I was so upset and just wanted to leave I didn't bother telling the person at the front desk. Mostly because I felt icky and wanted out and they had a waiting room full of people and I didn't want to make a scene. However, when I brought up my complaints afterwards, I got radio silence from the company. I also noticed all of their masseuse are asian and speak very little english. This place is NOT where you go to get a professional massage from a LICENSED therapist like Massage Envy or Elements Massage. It's basically getting a massage from the nail salon. But if you don't mind Peter rubbing his peter on you, then be my guest! read more

Found them thru an ad on FB. Great location, beautiful spa! Very calming when you walk in, gorgeous decor. Water features, very calming. Was running a little late, but well worth it. I had the premier package. 60 minute massage, 30 minute reflexology, 15 minute foot detox and 30 minute body detox. Each room was very welcoming, soft music, good colors, nice artwork. I had peter and he was great at what he does. Asked if I was comfortable and the pressure was good throughout. I will definitely be back read more

Nice and peaceful environment. My husband and I really enjoyed our couples massage. We didn't want it to end. Can't wait to go back!

Eva was so kind and strong. She took care of me every step of the way. I didn't know what to expect with the Vichy shower, but there was something special about it. If you're not comfortable with someone seeing you nakey then I don't recommend it for you. The sauna isn't an infrared but very clean and relaxing. Quick but a good sweat is a good sweat. The detox foot bath was cool! You learn what you detox by the color of the water. Place was super clean and beautifully decorated. The art was dope! Highly recommend the VP Package. So worth it. read more

Me and my boyfriend booked a 90 minute massage and we ended up only after 20 minutes in the massage requesting only 60 minutes because the massage was so bad to therapist terrible work no intention no love this was a Chinese massage that should've been charged between 25 and $30 even that I wouldn't even been satisfied with this is not a day small this is a place for new massage therapist I don't either have licenses or really just don't care about giving a massage... I told the receptionist that it was not a good massage and all she could say is I'm sorry have a nice day will never return beware please if you want this type of massage go spend $35 you'll get a better massage and a foot massage Chinese place the same people people read more

I've been unsure of how to write this review so I've been stalling. My sister and I came here a couple of months ago and it was the weirdest and most ridiculous massage I've ever had. I actually wanted to get up and leave halfway through - I left bruised and in pain. My sister was visiting and due to time restraints we couldn't go up to my usual spa in OC so we found and settled on this one because booking was a snap and they had availability. Easy sell. The place is in a strip mall but they do their best to not make it feel that way. Right away when we were shown into the "waiting area" we knew this was not really a spa but more of a massage mill. No robes, no locker room, just sit here and wait like you're at a doctor's office. We both opted for the Hot Stone massage and upon check-in were told that "they don't *really* have enough stones for us to be in separate rooms - so would we mind being in the same room?" Um, what? If you don't have enough than maybe don't let people book them at the same time? Or buy more stones? Does that mean people run back and forth between rooms sharing stones? Were they sharing them between us? I mean it's my sister so I'm not worried about coodies but still...what? They led us to the room and left, so again, I know it's my sister, but it felt really odd both of just undressing, piling our stuff on the floor and getting into the beds. *shudders* I believe my gal was Amy and my sister had a male, I don't recall his name. They were a bit unprofessional chatting in their native language while massaging us; it just felt wrong. Plus the fact that there's signs on the wall about not asking for sexual favors freaked me out. The first 5 or so minutes I was "massaged" with the sheet still on me which had me wondering if the whole thing was going to be that way. SO WEIRD. The back and forth with the stones and whatever they were doing and discussing and laughing about felt so disorganized and creepy. She also used her elbows a lot over my back hip bones and I almost cried out for her to stop - I was bruised before we'd even left and it hurt to sit back down in the car! I REALLY and truly do not understand the positive reviews - I must be missing something. My idea of a massage is the exact opposite of everything this place is. My sister and I were truly speechless after we left. read more

Karma Spa - I mean...really? That just makes me wonder what kind of place it really is! - Skin Care Near Me - Carlsbad, California

This place is a gem! My boyfriend and I were just here last week for the first time and we got the couple's Presidential package and it was worth it!!!! I asked the facility if they could add a couple of things to our package to make it a little bit more special and they responded quickly and they were very accommodating. The facility is very nice, clean, very zen. We came out very relaxed and refreshed. I have nothing but good things to say about this facility. We will definitely be back again! Thank you to the staff that was present that day. We really appreciate you guys taking good care of us! read more

If you live in Carlsbad and you like massages that are not dainty (with GOOD pressure), then I recommend you go to Karma. I love that they know what good pressure is; and where to apply pressure to relieve tension in muscles (great for an active yogi who loves her chatarangas). I've visited Karma twice and I love their massages and their options. They have a ton of options - much like they have a ton of flavors at the ice cream shop. Just like at an ice cream stand, you want to try all the flavors. Literally, I want to go back and try all their massages. They have the thai, the accupressure, the hot stone, the [...] massage, etc. Lastly, (and most importantly) I love Karma because I can always ask to have a couples massage in a private room. It's nice to have my husband next to me. I love him so much. read more

Will definitely be going back! They also offer other services I want to try. read more

You can't beat these prices! I had the presidential package for $85, and I've never felt so good about a massage in my life! And I've spent thousands on massages over the years. My masseuse's name was Amy, a nice Chinese woman with a responsive touch. But don't let her small frame fool you--she can really dig into knots like it's nobody's business! My package included a 1 hr foot massage and 1 hr (ish) full body massage to loosen me up and get out all the many knots, a foot bath and sauna time to sweat out all the toxins, and even came with a really neat lay down shower service to rinse off all the oils from the massage. I'm seriously considering a membership here. read more
