I'm always a little nervous to try out a new salon but have been looking for someone based in Marin... so glad I took a chance on Salon B because it's honestly the best curly cut I've ever had! Amy and Bishlam have created such a lovely space... they're both so friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. Bishlam carefully took his time to look at my hair and to get a sense of what I wanted/didn't want and he even talked through some techniques for styling and explained what kind of products would work best for my texture. For anyone who's struggled to find a really great curly hair specialist, I can't recommend them enough! So lucky to have them in town!

I wait months to get an appointment, plan my schedule around it, and then end up having it canceled at the last minute. Once is understandable--things happen. But having this happen three times in a row, every single time I've booked, is unacceptable. At this point, it's not an isolated inconvenience; it's a pattern that shows a complete lack of respect for clients' time. I've given this salon multiple chances, but I will not be returning. I arrived with an absolute emergency of a mess, a cut off all your hair, how did I get here, MESS. Major chemical/product damage, it was not viable. I was fully resigned to a short bob for a complete restart, but she was able to use her skill to come up with what she called a "custom haircut" and that's exactly what it was. Where the texture was once straw/sandpaper, is now silk. I cannot recommend Susan enough! If she can make sunshine come out of THIS experience, I can only imagine what she is capable of working with other clients. It was very kind of all the ladies in the salon to come and give their recommendations as well, I really felt like everyone came together and saved what they could of my hair! I've had my hair done by Issam and he is amazing, but he is hyper to the max and will chat with every single person in the salon while cutting your hair. He literally will stop with my hair and walk up to another hairstylist or client and start chatting away about their weekend plans. Drives me batty. If I didn't love the way Issam does my hair I would never return but he does have a true gift. I almost have to go to yoga after the hair appointment to just chill out. If you are way more mellow than I am then you won't have a problem. If you want great hair then check this place out for sure, you will leave with great hair.

Jacqueline is very friendly with a gentle touch. I'm really sensitive and don't like it when stylists brush my hair harshly (like the mother in Like Water for Chocolate), which sometimes happens. As she is an apprentice, if you book during one of these apprentice slots, you will need to be a little more patient and a little more understanding, but I really loved my experience and cut.

Denise Carvajal is hands down the best stylist I've ever had and I've been coloring my hair for decades. She specializes in blondes and is everything I was looking for: highly skilled, a great listener, empathetic and experienced. She really gets how important the outcome of your visit is for you! She's got a great problem solving approach. A previous stylist was having difficulty getting my hair to a nice bright blonde but somehow Denise figured it out also without damaging it. I have genetic alopecia so to say I'm touchy about my hair is an understatement. I feel 100% in the best hands.
