I was a bit worried because Asian male hair can often be tricky to cut and mess ups show up big time if there are mistakes. I decided to give him a try and I'm so glad I did. My hair looked amazing and I actually had a bunch of compliments the week leading up to my wedding. I barely needed any hair product. He also gave me a bunch of tips on how to style my hair. Overall, worth the cost. Def a premium haircut for a very fair price.

They all gave nice haircuts, but none of them understood my hair. I have naturally wavy Asian hair, thick, textured, and not the kind you can cut like fine hair. They'd flatten the heck out of my hair and cut it. My hair would look good for one day and then never look the same again. Then I found Tin after seeing a few photos of Asian girls who got their hair cut by him, and I am SO glad I did. He genuinely understands my hair type. He doesn't just give a standard cut--he tweaks the shape, layers, and texture so it works for my hair and for my everyday styling. For the first time since moving, my hair looks great the next day... and the next! He listens, gives thoughtful opinions without being pushy, and never tries to sell you products. He's easygoing, easy to talk to, and makes the whole appointment feel relaxed and enjoyable. If you have Asian hair or thicker, wavy hair, go see Tin. He gets it. And I couldn't be happier with the results.

I arrived with an absolute emergency of a mess, a cut off all your hair, how did I get here, MESS. Major chemical/product damage, it was not viable. I was fully resigned to a short bob for a complete restart, but she was able to use her skill to come up with what she called a "custom haircut" and that's exactly what it was. Where the texture was once straw/sandpaper, is now silk. I cannot recommend Susan enough! If she can make sunshine come out of THIS experience, I can only imagine what she is capable of working with other clients. It was very kind of all the ladies in the salon to come and give their recommendations as well, I really felt like everyone came together and saved what they could of my hair! It feels amazing today and I am so incredibly grateful. Thank you Susan, you are a gem and I will recommend you to all those who are looking for an exceptional hair artist. I'll see you next time!!

I've been coming here since their earlier location, and the consistency has been remarkable. Coming from a European background, I've found it surprisingly difficult to find a truly reliable hair salon in the U.S. I kept my hair long for years -- partly out of caution -- until one of Cooper Alley's apprentices approached me during May Madness event in San Rafael. I took a chance, and it reset my relationship with hair salons entirely. I trust stylists again. In fact, I now tend to measure other salons by whether they carry the same product lines Cooper Alley does -- the best in the world. Rick Cooper, the founder, is an artist in the truest sense. His influence extends far beyond this salon; through his training, there are now dozens of trusted salons across Marin and the Bay Area -- a quiet but significant legacy. Ally, a co-founder, has an exceptional eye for color. Alyona, a newer co-owner originally from Odessa, Ukraine, brings clarity, conviction, and range to everything she touches. Miriam adds a refined European sensibility, and the next generation -- including Holland and Cathy -- carry the craft forward with confidence and care. Cooper Alley isn't just a salon. It's a gold standard.

Thank goodness I found Kim on here! I was worried she'd be all booked up on Sunday but I messaged her hoping we could get squeezed in. I got a response in less than an hour! She was able to fit us both in. I'm picky with my hair. I love my length so I really only like to get the split ends trimmed and some layers added to freshen it up. Often I leave salons with less hair than I had hoped, but she knew exactly what I wanted and cut it perfectly! On top of that, she is very friendly. :) She even gave me tips on how to get my stick straight hair to curl. I've not yet had time to try it, but I'm saving those tips for the next time I attempt it. I have finally found a place I like in Marin. I will return here again when it's time for another cut.

My mother had killed the battery in her car (a 2012 ICE car) in the Safeway parking lot, and I had arrived to jump it and get it home. Unfortunately, there are so many electric (including mine) and high-end cars in Marin, that finding a car that could jump us was not easy. A gentleman parked near us (with a car that I knew could jump us) and I asked him if I could offer him some money for a jump start. (I had all the cables hooked up on my dead battery.) He explained that he was here to close his store and needed to relieve his staff and shut down. I said that I understood and wished him a good night. Several minutes later he returned and said that a coworker would handle the closing and asked how he could help. We jumped the car in a minute. He refused the money. I insisted and asked that he give it to his staff if he wouldn't accept it. There are still considerate humans in the world. And the manager at SuperCuts in Corte Madera helped to renew my faith in my fellow man. I wish I had gotten his name. I'll go back and do that. Thank you for your help!
