Karen helped coordinate a number of details in advance of the party and, based on her experience, helped me with some important decisions in planning the party. On the day of the party, which involved a nice luncheon for about 30 people, Karen was amazing. She ran the entire party behind the scenes so that I could focus on the guests. She was very resourceful and found serving spoons or whatever she needed in the kitchen. She refilled the drinks, emptied garbage, served the food (and put leftovers away at the end), etc. When she had downtime (which was not much), she took candid photos for us. I've hired Karen's Party Help for many parties and events for more than seven years. The biggest compliment that I can give is that guests invariably get in touch with me afterwards to inquire about Karen for their own parties, and I happily pass along her number. Karen's service is simple and perfect: an experienced and trustworthy extra pair of hands for parties and special events. With Karen's assistance, I am free to interact with my guests and properly host an event without concern that the party mechanics will stop working. I typically ask Karen to arrive about an hour before my event, and she helps with all of the last minute preparations -- plating food, getting drinks set up, decorating touches, etc. As guests begin to arrive, I completely switch over to host mode and Karen makes sure that everything that has been planned gets fully executed: food and drinks get served, platters get refreshed, empty plates and glasses are picked up. In the past, Karen has also manned a BBQ grill or tended bar. As the party winds down, Karen is busy packaging leftovers, washing dishes, taking out trash. By the time the last guest has departed, my home is almost back to normal! That said, Karen is as flexible as you need her to be and her vast experience goes a long way. We planned it in about 48 hours, and Karen was responsive, flexible, professional, and worth way more than the very reasonable rate she charges. I've hired Karen 2x now and both times were great. She arrived as promised, with extra help that was professional and friendly, as was she. She asked great questions before and during, and the second time she helped me she was able to figure everything out on her own because she had familiarized herself with the layout of the house. I would definitely hire her again for any event I have. The first hire was for a Bat Mitzvah party in my parents' home. My mom is super picky about helpers and she was happy with Karen's services, which is very high praise indeed. The second time was for, sadly, my dad's funeral, and Karen came on short notice and still pulled off great organizational skills. Karen has helped us out for the last three summers for an annual pool party we have. She is FANTASTIC! She is very responsive, reliable, and professional. We always create a menu of food and cocktails, which she is always happy to accommodate (or improve upon). She preps the food for us, mixes cocktails, cleans up, and brings refills to people when they are in the pool! She even drove to the market to pick up more ice for us when we ran out. I can't say enough about Karen. I had heard reviews about her from several sources, but not from a personal referral, and had written down her number. I just knew she would be someone we would want for a family event at some point in the future. So sure enough (a year or more later), my daughter decides to have a big backyard party for her two little girls birthdays (about 60 guests, mostly toddlers). I told her about Karen and we set it up for her to come help. Our communication with Karen was great. Always a quick response with all our questions...and she was super patient, because we had so much going on at the time, that we did not pull the trigger in a timely fashion. But in the end it all worked out and Karen was beyond amazing. She arrived early (looking very professional), helped with set up and continued to keep everything on track for the duration of the party, including all the clean up. We had a lot of toddlers, who were scrambling to get in the waterslide bounce house, do crafts, and lots of food to deal with.
