However, another staff member suddenly commented that there was no water and that if I wanted some, I should buy and pay for it. It was a bit surprising--not because of the policy, but because of the tone, which came across as a bit harsh. Maybe she was just having a bad day, which I can understand, but the delivery didn't feel very welcoming. I want to emphasize that I have no issue paying for water at all; in fact, I planned to go back to the car after ice cream to get water since we parked nearby. It was just the way it was said that didn't sit well. I didn't say anything at the moment since I understand everyone can have off days, but I do think consistency in how customers are spoken to is important--others might not take that tone as lightly. They kept bringing out dishes and drinks that no one ordered, and I GUARANTEE that they snuck these on the bill whether or not the staff left them at our table. For example, they brought at least one drink no one ordered, and they brought chips and salsa that no one ordered. Additionally, they brought a burger, that no one ordered and no one claimed, so they took it back, probably threw it out, but I GUARANTEE they snuck it on the bill.
