Al's Donuts has been our destination trip before our drive home to SoCal . Upon entering we were warmly greeted by both Ro and pheap . Nothing has changed since our last visit . The service we received by both was admirable, they remembered us from our past trip here . The counter and table seatings section were clean , and stocked with drinks . Al's tend to always sell out , so we made sure to call ahead to hold 2 apple fritters for my husband . We can't drive home without it and of course my kids love their donuts too. The Lady that first helped me was super helpful and the other Lady ended up helping me, because I was overwhelmed by the variety of Donut Selections, an I was not able to decide quickly as more Customers came in, an a line started to build; it was only half an hour after They opened. My go-tos are their ham and cheese croissant (which they instantly know I want if they have any left), their glazed buttermilk bars, bear claws, turnovers and apple fritters. Very friendly, great service, love the ambiance of a small donut shop. The staff here seems to know many visitors by name as soon as they walk in along with their usual orders. Whole I was picking up donuts, a homeless lady came in who was mute but the woman working the counter knew her by name, was kind, and gave her a free donut/pastry. My issue is the cost. $2.20 for one French crueler when the national average cost to make a donut is $0.12. They charge $18 a dozen at the time of my last visit.
