This is Al the barber I've done business with you guys for years and I was so disgusted when I went into the shop this morning and there were two latino girls working there they were rude and they were laughing at a homeless man in front of the shop while licking their fingers after eating donuts and loud talking in the shop speaking in Spanish to each other they were both very very immature and unprofessional the atmosphere in the shop was not the same as it is when I come in there it was just terrible it's a total different atmosphere if I see these two girls working when I come to get donuts I will not go in I didn't like what I felt and saw read more

First let me say, I did really like this donut shop and went often. It's on the way to work and really convenient to stop and get my regular apple fritter. but this morning was the second time I walked out of the store without buying anything and feeling that I won't be back again. I can say that when I stopped during the weekday, the ladies were very nice. On this weekend morning though, I was pretty much dismissed. I walked in around 6 a.m. behind a group of ladies and was fine with waiting for them to get their order. Then a regular customer(I guess) walked in behind me and greeted warmly in spanish. The ladies were done with their order and instead of helping me, she served to the gentleman first. Considering I was on my way to work, I didn't feel like waiting around any longer. I felt like I was dismissed. There was no apology, no thank you for waiting, nothing. I left. I also know the counter person made a remark because everyone in the store looked out at me. A few months before, I went in and there was no one at the counter. I waited a few minutes for them to respond to the bell telling them there was a customer in the store, no response. I saw there was someone in the kitchen listening to loud music but she was in her own world. I called out for someone and once again no response. After waiting over 5-10 minutes, I left without purchase. I feel like my business is not wanted and after these 2 situations, I get a look of very unwelcome, like it's my fault I left! So sad because I really did like their donuts and I always tipped but there is no reason to be treated this way. They need to learn to treat every customer like gold, not just the ones they like. read more

This is definitely the neighborhood spot for donuts. We arrived around 8am and they had a consistent amount of clients coming in and out. Service was fast, friendly but most importantly the donuts were delicious. It's not too often I indulge in donuts because some shops don't change their oils often enough, but these donuts didn't have a funny aftertaste. read more

Al's Doughnuts has been here for a while and this is my first review. It's a great little local doughnut shop which is in a great location where I can go on my day off and easily swing by on the way to work. All of the doughnuts are always fresh, the coffee is great, and staff are friendly. I am especially a fan of their apple fritters and old-fashioned doughnuts. read more

COST: $15.75 for 1 dozen assorted regular donuts (raised, cake, old-fashioned). Add $0.50 surcharge is paying with credit/debit card. SERVICE: Friendly staff AMBIANCE: Mostly grab and go, but there are 2 small tables with chairs inside the store that you can use if they're free. PARKING: Lots of parking spots available in parking lot right outside the store. OVERALL: Great local donut shop to grab some donuts to share! I have been coming to Al's Donuts for years, since it was own by this Asian lady and the donuts have been great, my Wife loved the Apple fritter one; have never had anything to complain about this place. Well now that I'm writing this, they used to only accept cash. Now that it's been bought out recently, the new Owner(s) accepts card payment which is a plus, Customer service is okay, and it was okay back when the other Owner(s) were there, the only thing that hasn't changed is the way they take your order before, the area in front of the glass display of donuts would get crowded and gets crowded now as more customers arrive early in the morning usually. So you can get lost in the crowded area as you're waiting your turn, and sometimes as you're waiting your turn, someone else can take your turn; there is more Employees now than before to help you so that's a plus. It just needs organization. The new Ambiance is nice, the new Owner(s) did remodel the sign for the Menu which looks nice. My only recent complaint is that I purchased some dozen donuts yesterday and the old fashioned and butter donut that I bought tasted like the oil that was used was old or something was rancid. So my suggestion to the new Owner(s), have your Employees change the oil as needed or make sure the ingredients used are not expired. read more

CASH ONLY, MIS AMIGOS! I have stopped in this place a handful of times in the past few weeks (Honest! I'm not just saying that so you guys don't think I'm a voracious sugar-grubbing crumb-snatcher) and each time I've been impressed by the fast-paced and friendly demeanor of what seems to be the owners of the business. A sweet woman and a dapper fellow (um, yes, I did just use that phrase and you're welcome to borrow it anytime you like!) help guests out with their morning coffee and sweet treats. I found this place recently after we moved to a nearby city and in a fit of five-in-the-morning-getting-ready-for-work rage realized that those precious, precious Keurig "K-cups" were sealed up in some box in the garage... Far, far away from the actual Keurig brewer that stared back at me snidely from my counter top. Miles and miles later, driving down Railroad, I spotted a ridiculous line for that societal sin known as Starbucks and laughed to myself. (Daddy didn't raise no fool, juheard?) But glimmering like a beacon of hope literally two paces from that damn Starbucks drive-through was Al's! And inside was a big ol' cup of coffee for me for only $1.10! In that two-minute sprint from my car to the counter (and back... I didn't just say there for a lifetime although that has crossed my mind), I became a loyal Al's enthusiast. P.S. Yesterday I had a guest at my house and decided to make a trip to Al's to grab some donuts for her. She said they were beyond delicious and cursed me for only buying her two! read more

There is often a large group of older Hispanic? / Mexican? / Latino? (not sure what the politically correct term is these days) gentleman sitting around with coffee & donuts for a guy's morning meet up, I suppose, and taking up most of the available seating... so be prepared to take your morning goodie to-go. Finally got a chance to have a donut from Ald. You have to get there early because they sell out. I tried a jelly donut it was fresh had a slight crisp on the outside and was light and fluffy on the inside. The jelly inside was the right amount of swee to tart. I'm searching for a great local donut shop. I ordered the cream cheese pastry, a croissant and a maple bar. The cream cheese pastry dough is thick, not light and the cream cheese is too sweet. Best doughnut shop in the greater bay area! Sure, it's not the biggest or the flashiest, but their doughnuts taste great.
