He took the time to carefully measure everything, explain the work clearly, and helped our community make the right long-term decisions instead of just the cheapest fix. The quality of the concrete work turned out great, and what impressed us the most was the follow-up service after completion. When we had some concerns about curing color variation, Joe personally came back with his team to inspect and take care of everything right away. That level of responsibility and professionalism is rare nowadays. Very fair pricing, great communication, and a team that truly stands behind their work. We're very happy with the result and would gladly work with RC Concrete again in the future.

Was told will be available in two weeks to start the job. When called reference to estimate, said that they landed another job and won't be available till July. Was disappointed considering the references they have. Waited and wasted the whole week. This comment was added in response to David's comment below. Correction - you came on Tuesday around 5:30 pm and not Wednesday. Also I reached out to you on last Friday about the estimate as I didn't hear from you and you never said we serve first come first serve. So this company lies very well to make them look better. Be careful in hiring them for your project.

My wife and I are very pleased we selected David and Al to redo our backyard. 5 or 6 years ago…read moreduring the worst of the drought, I stopped watering the lawn that was there - and as the years went on - the yard degraded into a weedy, dusty, ugly mess. I met with 4 or 5 other landscapers to discuss our yard, and David and Al were the only ones who showed up ready to measure and able to talk specifics about what we could do. They were able to do a quick sketch right then - that really helped align our ideas with their suggestions. The work took just a few short weeks - killing all the weeds, leveling everything out - laying down mulch and drip landscaping for the selected easy maintenance low water plants, and just today the grass was installed. I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out, and I would strongly recommend David and Al for any landscaping work.

Run! Run! Run! Please don't use this service! Over the past 3 months, I've made him aware that…read morehis workers weren't doing well and I sent pictures. Recently he's been threatening me because I didn't want his service anymore and he was afraid of reviews. I think that I will have to notify the police of the situation In case of any negative situations. I have cameras everywhere, but just in case. He's NOT an honest man. His service used to be good, but not anymore. We established in the beginning what needed to be done and the price...but those basics are not getting done anymore. After almost 2 years EVERYTHING IS severely lacking. He only mows the lawn and we have to beg and plead to trim bushes etc......for what we're paying it's just not worth it. He likes to remind me that he only charged me for part in a sprinkler system. I would have gladly paid him labor but he said it was a ' favor' . If I thought it wasn't going to be done properly, I would have preferred to pay. When my family came to visit, the yard was NOTICEABLY poorly cared for. I WAS EMBARRASSED!!! Why? because they failed to mow or tend to the trees and scrubs . At the time I was in poor health yet and still I've had to trim trees and scrubs and still have to pick up what is CLEARLY BLOWN trash!!! HE was angry because I didn't want his service anymore more and he kept threatening me if I left a bad yelp review, so he wrote: ( mind you this is the man that LIES about everything) ~"you. Be careful-l am a child of God and His servant. Be careful, because my Father might punish you for what you're doing!" AND: ~"You better pay or I'll call collections "His workers scraped up and threw away the landscaping rocks because they didn't feel like sorting out the seeds that fell into them. I asked WELL IN ADVANCE, suggesting that they either replace them or I could take it out of the bill..... weeks in advance. Mind you, he's paid under the table ... I have proof. He was concerned about ICE and I told him not to worry that he could stay here awhile etc.. ~"if you post on my page ( YELP)I will take you to court for employee abuse and for making threats-because you *are* threatening me by saying that if I don't do what you want, you'll leave comments." ~Yesterday, I spent money on gas and paid a helper to fetch stone, and I gave it to you as a bonus just to make you happy. But even that wasn't enough. Reminder, HIS EMPLOYEES THREW THE OTHERS, but he was given the option, if I buy them I'll have to pay shipping, if you choose to bring them ..... you won't. ~"you. Be careful-l am a child of God and His servant. Be careful, because my Father might punish you for what you're doing!" But he constantly lies! You'd think we would have developed a relationship by now but not true. He wrote me a note detailing all FIVE XTRA Things that he's done over a 2 year period. Since he's NOT an honest man, I could guess at least some of it's true....it's NOT. His workers used to come at a decent time of day. Now they come late and stay 45 minutes at most I have been I poor health lately yet and still | have to trim and pick up what is CLEARLY BLOWN trash!!! See pictures I'd rather pay and get it done correctly than half done for FREE! I've caught him in so many lies. He won't answer texts or phone calls. So if I need something done or have a concern.....l can never get in contact.. UNLESS IT HAS TO DO WITH GETTING HIM PAID. He likes to remind me about that one time he cut down a bush but forgets that he's being paid $100 per visit JUST TO MOW THE LAWN!

Alan Dunn is the best landscaper / hardscaper / designer out there…read more We have a very small patio space that we wanted to turn into an extension of our living room. After searching high and low for reliable landscapers who also had a design sense and would bother to call back over a small project, we went with Alan. As a designer myself, it was very important we went with someone who would pay attention to the details and bring new ideas to the table. Alan does that and more. He makes you as much a part of the process as you want to be. With our project probably being on the smaller side of his average budgets, we never once felt like we weren't the #1 clients. He took all the time to ensure we were in love with every aspect of our yard. We loved everything he did and feel it has added immense value to our small home, not to mention the insane compliments we get over it. I will have Alan work on every home I ever live in......hes seriously the best and makes an entire space one you never want to leave. My cat is addicted to his new space.

First off...read the reviews of everyone else and you'll see a pattern. Great work all around…read more Their is one bad review for response time for a quote (from Irvine) and one unsatisfied customer in LB. No one is perfect and I am sure that holds true for Alan. But consistently, Alan gets great review. MY experience was awesome. I reached out to Alan about 1 1/2 years ago. Told him I would like a quote. He came out..talked me through everything, surveyed the yard and came back with a quote quickly. I then ran into a financial situation and couldn't do the job. Alan waited 3-4 months and called me to check on me. No pressure...just seeing how I was doing. Eventually, my finances cleared and I was ready. Alan gave me a computer design and it looked awesome. We agreed on a start date and away wen went. Alan and his guys started the job on time. Alan always kept me in the loop and I never felt like he was ignoring me. The same guys showed up every day (consistency) and Alan was very involved. Alan fixed a BUNCH of stuff in my front yard that was not even in my contract. And DIDN'T charge me for it. He replaced a few plants that didn't make it when planted...for free. He revamped my irrigation system at a reduced price. Yes...I spent over $30K on the job...but he didn't nickel and dime me and really treated me well. But here is the most important thing..Alan listens. He is NICE. He is patient. He is responsive. He is calm. My dog escaped one day and Alan IMMEDIATELY called me and we found our dog. He didn't have to do that. I am currently going through a hard time with another contractor and I called Alan up and asked him for advice. He ALWAYS answers...or calls back....or texts. In this world of shady contractors and HORRIBLE landscapers (here's looking at you SGV), Alan is awesome. Trust him with your job. You will not regret it. Oh...and my re-design is beautiful. Just like the computer design. And I have more work on the way with Alan. Fire pit...outdoor kitchen. And no one else will be doing it except Alan. And I know he'll be there when I am ready.

The team from Straw Hat Construction recently finished work on our bathroom tile and trim work. Wow…read moredid they do a great job! Not only did they implement a custom pattern I asked for in the tile, but they took the time to make sure all the small tiles were neatly fitted and installed. Tony and his team not only did a great job, but we're friendly, personable, and respected our home by keeping things clean and tidy along the way. They were transparent with the pricing, and explained to us how they estimated the job. The pricing for the job was quite reasonable, especially for the quality of work they implemented!
