Run! Run! Run! Please don't use this service! Over the past 3 months, I've made him aware that his workers weren't doing well and I sent pictures. Recently he's been threatening me because I didn't want his service anymore and he was afraid of reviews. I think that I will have to notify the police of the situation In case of any negative situations. I have cameras everywhere, but just in case. He's NOT an honest man. His service used to be good, but not anymore. We established in the beginning what needed to be done and the price...but those basics are not getting done anymore. After almost 2 years EVERYTHING IS severely lacking. He only mows the lawn and we have to beg and plead to trim bushes etc......for what we're paying it's just not worth it. He likes to remind me that he only charged me for part in a sprinkler system. I would have gladly paid him labor but he said it was a ' favor' . If I thought it wasn't going to be done properly, I would have preferred to pay. When my family came to visit, the yard was NOTICEABLY poorly cared for. I WAS EMBARRASSED!!! Why? because they failed to mow or tend to the trees and scrubs . At the time I was in poor health yet and still I've had to trim trees and scrubs and still have to pick up what is CLEARLY BLOWN trash!!! HE was angry because I didn't want his service anymore more and he kept threatening me if I left a bad yelp review, so he wrote: ( mind you this is the man that LIES about everything) ~"you. Be careful-l am a child of God and His servant. Be careful, because my Father might punish you for what you're doing!" AND: ~"You better pay or I'll call collections "His workers scraped up and threw away the landscaping rocks because they didn't feel like sorting out the seeds that fell into them. I asked WELL IN ADVANCE, suggesting that they either replace them or I could take it out of the bill..... weeks in advance. Mind you, he's paid under the table ... I have proof. He was concerned about ICE and I told him not to worry that he could stay here awhile etc.. ~"if you post on my page ( YELP)I will take you to court for employee abuse and for making threats-because you *are* threatening me by saying that if I don't do what you want, you'll leave comments." ~Yesterday, I spent money on gas and paid a helper to fetch stone, and I gave it to you as a bonus just to make you happy. But even that wasn't enough. Reminder, HIS EMPLOYEES THREW THE OTHERS, but he was given the option, if I buy them I'll have to pay shipping, if you choose to bring them ..... you won't. ~"you. Be careful-l am a child of God and His servant. Be careful, because my Father might punish you for what you're doing!" But he constantly lies! You'd think we would have developed a relationship by now but not true. He wrote me a note detailing all FIVE XTRA Things that he's done over a 2 year period. Since he's NOT an honest man, I could guess at least some of it's true....it's NOT. His workers used to come at a decent time of day. Now they come late and stay 45 minutes at most I have been I poor health lately yet and still | have to trim and pick up what is CLEARLY BLOWN trash!!! See pictures I'd rather pay and get it done correctly than half done for FREE! I've caught him in so many lies. He won't answer texts or phone calls. So if I need something done or have a concern.....l can never get in contact.. UNLESS IT HAS TO DO WITH GETTING HIM PAID. And I am so so happy that I went with them. When Marcos came over, I explained my ideas and emphasized to him that weeds are the bane of my existence. As I normally handle my own yard work, I wanted something low maintenance and easy for a lazy person to maintain. He provided insightful explanations, suggestions, and recommendations. And unheard in this day and age, he and his crew were able to start two days after our first meeting! They arrived first thing in the morning, hopped out of the truck, and immediately got to working. They were quick and efficient and I don't think I even saw them stop working (besides a lunch break) until it got dark. I was so impressed at how much they were able to get done in a day! And it continued each day they returned! Hands down, they are the hardest working crew I've seen! Marcos was also constantly working hard with his crew. So if he doesn't get back to you right away, be patient with him! It'll be worth it! 2 things about this crew that sets them apart ... 1. Doing things the right way, even if its the hard way 2. COMMUNICATION I came across their Yelp page and decided to give him a call. When we agreed on a date/time for him to come and give an on-site quote, he actually came on time, with a sample of turf, ready to go. I appreciate that. Once I got the ok from the boss (wife), he started the job that week and I NEVER HAD TO FOLLOW UP WITH HIM. He would be calling and texting me that he had a question or suggestion due to something we didn't think about at the time. The photos are actually 2 jobs. Job #1 - Backyard - turfed area & side dirt area. This was a HUGE TASK. The area was so un-leveled that we would have pools of water sitting there after a rainy day. It was IMMENSE to backfill the dirt and get everything setup for concrete/turf. These guys made quick work of it AND kept the area tidy after the end of each day. You rarely see that sort of attention and professionalism anymore. Job#2 - Front yard - new privacy plants & clean up After seeing the work Marcos did in the back, I didn't hesitate to start work in the front. Marcos and his team are seriously so awesome. I got quotes from quite a few companies in the area and Damian Landscaping was the most professional, responsive, and slightly cheaper than the others. But that doesn't mean they didn't do a great job! I got both artificial turf and concrete work done from them. As you can see, the before and after speaks for themselves! Time wise, the project took about 5 days but realistically it was 3. Day 1 was demo, day 2 was concrete, then were 2 days they didn't come to give the concrete time to dry, then that 5th day they laid the turf. Super efficient and fast for the amount of work they did. I would totally recommend them to everyone! You don't need to get quotes elsewhere, I already went through weeks of doing that. Our front yard was not in very good condition because of the Californian drought. We decided to change our front yard to artificial grass so we didn't need to water and maintain it. And on the other side, we wanted to expand the drive way so we could park one more car. We created a project in yelp and sent the request for quote to some contractors. Marcos responded very quickly. I eventually picked Damian Landscaping for a few reasons. Originally, I had some ideas about how to re-do the front yard. The other contractors just said they would do whatever I wanted. But Marcos explained to me very patiently why those ideas may not work well and gave me other suggestions. He spent at least an hour standing in my front yard in a hot afternoon, discussing our needs and answering our questions. Also, when I told the contractors I wanted to do artificial grass, I specifically asked them to bring some samples for me to look at. Marcos was the ONLY one who could show me samples when we met. None of the other contractors did. When we received his quote, it was very reasonable. After we signed the contract, he started work the next week. He and his team spent a few days prepping the ground then installed the artificial grass. After he scheduled the cement pour for the driveway, we found out it might rain on that day. He re-scheduled the pour on our request. For the driveway, he originally suggested mesh under the cement. I told him I wanted rebar. Before the pour, he still called me and let me choose and said if I wanted rebar, he would do rebar for me. After some research, I decided to take his advice and went with mesh. After everything was done, our front yard looked so different and the driveway was so much wider. We got a lot of compliments from our neighbors. We are very happy with the result. Marcos and his team did an awesome job repairing our planter wall that was uplifted and damaged by our palm tree roots. We requested that the tree be kept, as we love this tree. Marcos was able to help us keep the tree and rebuilt the wall and walkway. He reinforced the wall with rebar and trimmed all the roots. The roots were also growing underneath our walkway, which made it slightly lopsided. Marcos's team tore up the old walkway, removed the roots, laid new brick, and made a new walkway for us. He even made sure some areas had the correct grade for proper drainage. The materials used also matched what we had. This is important, as we live in a neighborhood with a HOA that is somewhat strict about preserving the look and feel of the neighborhood. From beginning to end, outstanding experience with Marcos and his team. We needed a very large tree stump and its extensive root system to be removed in our front lawn to make room for a walkway. The stump was right over our main line so we were initially worried about that but Marcos assured us that they would be very careful to not damage anything and they delivered on that promise. Ultimately, the stump and roots were removed, lawn was then leveled with sod added where needed, then the concrete and brick were laid for the walkway. Marcos also modified and improved our sprinkler system, with commercial grade PVC, a new valve and sprinkler heads. Damian landscaping will be my go to for anything landscaping and concrete.
