This review is only for the matzo ball soup because that's all I've ever had here. I've been coming here for years off and on to get the matzo ball soup because I crave it when I'm sick. It's been good but the soup part has been very oily and greasy in the past. To my surprise I ordered it this week for my son and couldn't resist dipping into it for myself and the broth was light and clear and the vegetables were fresh the noodles were perfect and of course, the matzo ball was the best! So kudos to Kara's for revamping their recipe and thank you! read more

This is definitely a locals spot. They do have great sandwiches there, and they make their own chips. They get busy so plan accordingly. Their Arnold palmers are ok and you do have to hunt down your waitress when your cup goes dry! Make sure to tell them you want tomatoes, lettuce and onions in your sandwich, because they did not add them to my roast beef sandwich. Husband ordered the pastrami, but was not amazed. Best service in town!!! Everyone was kind and helpful. Staff consistently helps and checks on you. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and French toast combo breakfast. The food was tasty but nothing special. There is plenty of outdoor seating available. My child liked the big gum-ball machines they had inside the restaurant. My only concern is the middle table in the middle of the room with all their cleaning supplies and dining table setups is oddly placed and makes the restaurant look messy. We have been coming to Kara's since she opened. Took my kids here and granddaughters. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. One of our favorite things we always get is a Covina. My husband and I share it. They give you large portions and so delicious. The matzo ball soup you must try. Kara and her team are the best. You are always welcome with a smile and never have to wait for a booth or table. She does display specials on the boards as you walk in. Her latest lemon and blueberry pancakes are so yummy and filling. I actually took half home. Oh can't forget about the great coffee and home made desserts. My husband loves this place, me- not so much and it's not so much the service or the ambiance that I don't care for it's the food. Sometimes the home potatoes are slightly burnt and bland other times the French Toast is flat, just meh..there is nothing extraordinary about the food being cooked here HOWEVER, the customer's relationships / interactions towards one another is nice to see and receive. A slice of heaven in Glendora. The look of the restaurant was very festive with Christmas tchotchke's EVERYWHERE. There is also a wonderful display as you enter for our military which made me very happy to see that they are honored at Kara's place. The bathrooms were immaculate. I Found myself in Glendora for a concert at Citrus Community College. We got there early on Friday (the 13th!) so we could eat and relax. We ended up at Kara's Korner and I'm so grateful we did. Kara herself greeted us at our table and discussed the menu which has more options that you'd think a place like this should have. (17 different burgers alone!) We opted for the stuffed cabbage for my husband and the meatloaf for myself. Both entrees were outstanding and obviously homemade. I also had the matzo ball soup which was DEFINITELY home made and absolutely delicious. I wish I had only ordered a big bowl of the soup, it was that good. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. If anything, I'd go easier on the salt with everything we ordered. Thanks, Kara, for a great meal. We will definitely be back. read more

Wifey and I absolutely love Kara's. We've been coming here for more than a dozen years. It's a popular place for seniors on a tight budget. We always get outstanding service regardless of how busy they are... some faves include the homemade chicken noodle soup, the Junior and Senior Menu for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I love the Hot Dog Special for lunch which includes homemade potato chips and drink. The cod and roughy are great for dinner. Wifey loves the pot roast.
