Similar to most Indian restaurants you have high prices with smaller portions. Unfortunately that is how it is these days. However the portions that they do have are delicious. A good sign that we were in for a treat was that although only half of the restaurant was filled, most of them were South Asian families. The venue had high ceilings and though it was decorated in parts, still felt like it was a waste of space. The service was attentive and quick. We went with some classics: vegetable samosas, Chicken makhani, Baingan Bharta (eggplant), and garlic naan, and mango lassi since the masala chai was sold out. Everything was good, but each felt like it was slightly off. I was also a bit disappointed that the dishes didn't come in those classic metallic dishes, instead they came in white porcelain, but the important flavours were there. The Chicken makhani came in a portion larger than normal, which was good, but there was a spice missing that I couldn't quite pinpoint. The Baingan Bharta had a similar issue -- it was my first time having it, and it tasted like an Indian version of a babaghanoush; I liked that it had a kick, but it was a bit bland for my palate. Maybe more salt would have helped? The garlic naan was also standard, but thicker than normal without the crisp parts that I like. The mango lassi was good but watery and leaned on the tart side. All in all, a good meal and I'd definitely come back if I was craving Indian in Yonkers.

But we enjoyed our meal and honestly, I have more empathy for the staff during Ramadan, its definitely a hectic time when its time to eat.
