I stumbled upon this hidden gem today on a walk with my son and they get my first 5 star review. Let me just say the girls they got working there deserve five stars alone! Sawsan had exceptionally great service and so did heba. Amazing workers, clean environment, quiet and beautifully decorated and most importantly HALAL local food y'all. The food was excellent. I had my one year old with me and asked heba for the least spicy option and she suggested butter chicken, it was still spicy to me LOL she took it back and brought it out a few moments later with no spice in sight! Sawsan was so welcoming and friendly the entire time, she packed our food for us and they didn't forget my samosas! I thought I did haha I ate so much and was so full, had my leftovers and still couldn't finish the food. Excellent Indian/Pakistani food in Yonkers! We ate here for a late lunch today. The restaurant is small, and the ambiance is simple. Initially, the service was a little surly, but the waitress became more relaxed and friendlier as the meal continued. There were no mistakes with the order. I certainly did not see any violence or abuse, as another review claimed! The food was delicious. We had the naan, the palak paneer, the chicken tikka masala, and the butter chicken. It was all great. We came here once years ago, but now I think we'll be ordering from here more regularly. The naan was fluffy and not burnt. The food was flavorful and reasonably priced. This review is for a delivery we received. We ordered their butter chicken, samosa chaat, garlic naan and what was supposed to be their lamb tikka kahari. My problem is that it definitely was not lamb. It was gamey as all hell and being Jamaican, I can tell goat meat a mile away because it's actually one of my favourite proteins in west Indian cuisine but it's hella seasoned which kills the gamey aftertaste. Lamb is also one of my most favourite proteins as well. I love the flavor of it, whether it's a chop of a leg cut. Everything else was great. Their samosa chaat has chick peas, spices and smashed pieces of samosa. It's perfection. The butter chicken was great, as was the naan. That "lamb" was inedible. It tasted like it had been walking on a farm two seconds prior to being cooked and delivered to our house and again, there was no lamb in that dish and that was a disappointment. We loved it when we dined on premises but if I have to worry about getting what I ordered and paid for just because it's take away, I don't want to go back there. I had tried this place a few years ago, pre pandemic, and was pleased to finally have a nice sit down Pakistani restaurant. After that I ordered take out a few times. Recently after not going there or ordering take out for a few years, I decided to order delivery. I ordered the chicken Karahi & the kebab masala. The Kebab masala was just ok, nothing special at all, and the chicken Karahi was definitely NOT Karahi, it was just some kind of chicken in masala. To be honest the Naan & salad were better than both dishes. Not sure if they are under new management or have a new cook, but we definitely did not enjoy the food this time around. I can't begin to describe my satisfaction with this place! First and foremost, the food! Why?! Cause it's AMAZING!! Now, I do love Indian cuisine so I admit my bias, however that also gives me permission to admit my desire for satisfying flavor. Well, this place provides it! I've been twice now and both times a hit. First time I had a vegan dish which was delightful with a punch of spice. Second time had butter chicken and well (insert drool emoticon). All of the food is home cooked. Try their naan and you will know exactly how I know this! Due to the special care that goes into home cooking, expect a bit of a delay. Amazing flavorful and succulent chicken. The sauce is delicious with a subtle spice. Butter Chicken: lovely sauce again, very fresh and juicy chicken. Less flavorful than the tikka masala but also a solid choice. More of a very subtle creamy sauce. Daal: very well seasoned and prepared. Garlic Naan: DELICIOUS! The receptionist/ host/ waiter is an extremely careless and unpleasant guy. The food was not fresh, had subpar taste. We ordered a nawabi handi, that was probably not fresh and not hot. We asked the guy to heat it up, which he did but passed an unnecessary and rather disturbing remark. We confronted him about it and he started shouting at us. I've worked in offices with a lot of Indian people and we've ordered takeout from different places and have gone to different restaurants in the past, but this place really takes the cake. The naan is superb, the lamb (I expected it to be gamy) was tender and delicious! We also ordered their samosas and their paneer curry and I would 1000000% recommend both places. We had our order delivered through dashpass and it was so good delivered, I can imagine it'd be incredible in person. Arguably the best Indian food I've ever had. read more

Just had an early Valentines Day dinner with my husband. Their lunch special was about $13 per person. This included, a huge salad, naan enough for 2 people. The restaurant was very hospitable. My husband felt as if we were invited into their home. The food was delicious. The restaurant is very clean. The bathroom was very clean and modern. The music choice was perfect, not too loud. They only checked in with us once to see if we needed assistance. We even have enough for leftovers! We will be back and use Ubereats as well. 5 stars! read more

The food took an exceptionally long time to be served and when it did arrive it was mediocre at best. It tasted like a home-amateur's attempt at making the dishes. On the up side, parking around the corner was pretty convenient. The decor leaned more towards upscale and the bathroom was possibly the nicest I have ever seen in an operation of this size. Been looking for a good eat in place! Definitely do give them a call ahead to make sure they are available. With all the restrictions these days, it is so hard for places like these to stay open. We ordered the mixed grill for 3 ppl, garlic naan, Paneer, mango lassi. The grill is amazing! The lamb (DEFINITELY LAMB) was done with right spices, mild heat with kick. Rice is not over cooked or mushy. Just right. The Paneer was filled with large cube of cheeses - we got our fair share. The mango lassi was not drown in sugar - I can actually taste the smooth yogurt. Salad was well washed, cut up evenly. Not like some places I go and wonder wow did a 2 year old cut up the salad? And yes ppl, there are parkings! There is a small lot along the side of the building designated for Nawab. THE PLACE IS CLEAN - only some happy birthday balloons at the ceiling which unless you are the fire department, you are not reaching those. The tables and chairs are not sticky. The tables are also framed wood so when we are eating, it did not shake like there is an earthquake. This place is connected to the ballroom next door. Has a nostalgic style old city hall back in 1920s. In fact, they are hosting a fundraiser here - do go it is for clean water and education for children. Saved us lot of trouble looking for parking. The food arrived promptly after we placed the order. Portion sizes of both appetizers and entrees were good. Before you read anything, know I love this place's food. They make excellent food. The venue inside, the decor, the interior design, the tables, the setting, the look and feel, the service is all GREAT. I've been coming here for several years now because of events (weddings, birthdays, etc). The only reason this place gets a 2-star rating is because the location is REALLY dangerous and they don't do enough to protect people within the parking lot area. My siblings got harassed by a couple shady characters in the parking lot one night. I had to call the cops. If this place had a security guard outside, attendees/guests/customers would feel SO much safer. We get it, it's in a bad part of Yonkers, comes with the territory, but at least have someone standing guard there so this type of trouble doesn't occur. I think Nawab makes enough money to police the parking lot a little bit, especially at night. I did fear for my siblings that night. I could care less for myself, I can take care of myself, but I was afraid for my family. It's not cool. This area is really dangerous at night, why not just hire some private security to make guests feel safer and give them peace of mind? I guarantee more customers attending will be really happy if you had security there all the time or at most the important times. I hope the owners read this and take the necessary action. What's the point of having good food and good service if it only goes as far as the front door? If we feel unsafe getting to the front door, I'm going to keep it at 2-stars. read more

We entered the restaurant, only 2 people dining on a Saturday night at 7pm.. Not a good sign.. But I heard their food is good so was positive.. There was no one to seat us.. Server seated us after 5 minutes.. The hostess emerged later.. But didn't seem enthusiastic about people coming into dine.. She reluctantly came to take our order, It was evident with her body language.. The food was delicious the person who served, checked on us a couple of times, he made us feel good. We asked for the check, she brought the check with added 18%gratuity. We are a table of 2ppl. I told her to take it off but She said it was restaurant policy instructed by her boss to add mandatory gratuity on all checks. I understand that over if a table has over 5ppl mandatory gratuity is acceptable but not for a table of 2. No wonder the restaurant is empty despite of good food. If the service staff were hospitable and the restaurant policy was right, it would provide a better experience for visitors. read more
