Samosa Chaat, Sauces and Green Salad
    Amanda G.

This review is for a delivery we received. We ordered their butter chicken, samosa chaat, garlic naan and what was supposed to be their lamb tikka kahari. My problem is that it definitely was not lamb. It was gamey as all hell and being Jamaican, I can tell goat meat a mile away because it's actually one of my favourite proteins in west Indian cuisine but it's hella seasoned which kills the gamey aftertaste. Lamb is also one of my most favourite proteins as well. I love the flavor of it, whether it's a chop of a leg cut. Everything else was great. Their samosa chaat has chick peas, spices and smashed pieces of samosa. It's perfection. The butter chicken was great, as was the naan. That "lamb" was inedible. It tasted like it had been walking on a farm two seconds prior to being cooked and delivered to our house and again, there was no lamb in that dish and that was a disappointment. We loved it when we dined on premises but if I have to worry about getting what I ordered and paid for just because it's take away, I don't want to go back there. No one likes a bait and switch.

I had tried this place a few years ago, pre pandemic, and was pleased to finally have a nice sit down Pakistani restaurant. After that I ordered take out a few times. Recently after not going there or ordering take out for a few years, I decided to order delivery. I ordered the chicken Karahi & the kebab masala. The Kebab masala was just ok, nothing special at all, and the chicken Karahi was definitely NOT Karahi, it was just some kind of chicken in masala. To be honest the Naan & salad were better than both dishes. Not sure if they are under new management or have a new cook, but we definitely did not enjoy the food this time around. Delivery was on time and the restaurant followed my instructions ( I asked for the chicken Karahi to be made with boneless chicken).

Absolutely delicious "Mixed Grill for one"! Five-star service! Will definitely be back, inshAllah.

The incomparable Nawab. An absolute must in Westchester County. My husband and I have been coming here for about 8 years. The food is delicious and the service is delightful. Our favorites are the naan bread, the mango lassi, the mixed platter, haki chili chicken and the nawab chicken. Don't miss it!

I can't begin to describe my satisfaction with this place! First and foremost, the food! Why?! Cause it's AMAZING!! Now, I do love Indian cuisine so I admit my bias, however that also gives me permission to admit my desire for satisfying flavor. Well, this place provides it! I've been twice now and both times a hit. First time I had a vegan dish which was delightful with a punch of spice. Second time had butter chicken and well (insert drool emoticon). All of the food is home cooked. Try their naan and you will know exactly how I know this! Due to the special care that goes into home cooking, expect a bit of a delay. I order in advance to eat in the restaurant (insert mad scientist emoticon)!!! The restaurant is cute, a bit cold, and always plenty of space. The music they play is incredible! Frankly I'd stay just to jam out. The waitress is great! Nothing more to say on that. This place has become a staple in my yelp book!

This was our first time trying Indian food and to say the least we were not disappointed. The food was very flavorful and fresh. And the ambiance was lovely as well. Very lovely service and generous servings. We were a party of 3 and had enough to take home. Chicken & Veggie Samosas: very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Generous fillings & comes with an assortment of chutneys and salad for the table. The veggie samosas are pretty spicy. Chicken Tikka Masala: my favorite dish of the evening. Amazing flavorful and succulent chicken. The sauce is delicious with a subtle spice. Butter Chicken: lovely sauce again, very fresh and juicy chicken. Less flavorful than the tikka masala but also a solid choice. More of a very subtle creamy sauce. Daal: very well seasoned and prepared. Garlic Naan: DELICIOUS! We literally couldn't get enough fresh garlic and seasoning served hot and fresh. Mango Lassi: interesting but also very nice. Strong mango & yogurt flavor but not to heavy like a smoothie. Overall we were a party of 3, shared the meal and still had enough to take home.

This is considered samosa chaat to nawab owners....
    Itsme I.

I would give this place no stars! This is their samosa chaat.....no samosas just these freezer made triangles...this is a joke! This cost me 8 dollars! No yogurt no seasoning just plain chickpeas with these small things!

Love the food here and they usually deliver on time. But WTF with this dessert? Paid $4.50 for 2 pieces of gulab jaman. This one is a first. They should have called to say they were out.

I ordered at the counter and after 30 mins I checked and seems like my order had not been passed on, so I ordered again and this time food only took 10 mins to arrive. Naan was great. Chicken tikka masala was a bit oiler than I'm used to. They didn't have any plain rice available as a side order for the curry, so they suggested the Friday special rice which was chicken and chickpeas and ginger etc, unfortunately this had definitely been sitting a while and rice was pretty mushy. The staff were pretty friendly, and I liked how the dining area was decorated. $22 for the two dishes and naan (plenty of leftovers that i took home although not sure how well the rice will be tomorrow)

Lahore is a Pakistani restaurant which is honestly not common to come across (compared to Indian restaurants). The interior is nicely decorated and we were seated immediately. We got 2 appetizers, Aloo Papri Chaat and Gol Gappay. The Aloo Papri Chaat was cold, loaded with textures and flavors, and even some slight sweetness. It was enjoyable but not sure I would gravitate to this again. The Gol Gappay was beautifully presented with a similar flavor profile to the Aloo Papri Chaat. It's great for sharing and more of a playful appetizer. I've never had Karahi before and although maybe not the traditional version, we opted for the White Chicken Karahi. It was mild, savory and creamy. It took ~30 minutes to prepare as the menu states and they don't skimp out on the chicken. For the price point, I would say the portion is reasonable. The chicken was tender, buttery, and aromatic. My only complaint is that it wasn't served with anything so we had to add some Basmati Rice and Tandoori Roti on our own dime. I think it should come with at least one complimentary side dish considering it's an entree. We ended with a Kashmiri Chai. It's a pink-hued tea that actually gets its color from the chemical reaction between the green tea & baking soda. All this time, I thought it was rose! It was garnished with pistachios and had hints of cardamom and cinnamon spices which I enjoyed. Good try overall!

It's unfortunate that I have to post this as I feel despite us voicing our concern (multiple times) in person with the staff and also on the phone when ordering take out, the staff is not trained and do not take certain dietary restrictions seriously such as food allergies. After having a child who suffers from peanut and egg allergies, whenever we have dined or ordered from here as of lately, we have politely asked for certain food not to be served together and prepared properly. After expressing this, the staffs answer is rude and with an attitude and us being told "ok i'll just put it in a separate plate" after it being cross contaminated and served. Then during a take out order when we called to alert that there is an allergy, to please ensure the food is properly handled and packed separately from egg-containing items, we were told (specifically by Jaspreet) it is already prepared and packed, so the best that can be done is taken out and packed separately instead of adhering to the urgency of the matter and re-preparing the food. Our child broke out in hives due to their negligence in the past and I fear that their inefficiency to understand the seriousness of this matter will one day result in legal action being taken against this establishment if God forbid someone else has a reaction or worse a Fatality. My post isn't intended towards the quality of the food, it is more so to be heard and create awareness on this matter as it seems this establishment can care less towards your health needs. Update: We were contacted by ownership (Ishrath) and accused of being in the wrong and were met with disrespect and advised not to come to this establishment anymore as they cannot meet our "crazy demands." We should have been heard out, which was explained to co-ownership (Sobia) a few minutes after my review was posted, that this wasn't a personal jab towards the establishment however has happened to us on multiple accounts, specifically from staff member Jaspreet the past two times in a matter of two weeks. There was no apology on the matter, just defensiveness in a "sweet tone." This is more so a validation that despite us voicing our concerns multiple times in person, it has fallen on deaf ears and it is unfortunate that we have had to go to such extremes as posting this to be heard. Since my post, we see the attempt to have our post buried, and quite frankly hope it made a difference, albeit they have lost our business however we know the restaurant will still thrive. Still wishing them the best of luck and hopefully prevents any future consequence on this matter.

I'm not familiar with Pakistani food, which is a great reason for me to check it out... and I figured it's similar to Indian, which I love. The name of the place sounds super cool and kind of silly, TBH, so I think that hooked me. There's not too much parking available on the streets near the restaurant, but I found some right down on Bronxwood Ave about a 2 minute walk. Upon arrival, I was a little surprised to find it kind of beat-up looking, a damaged table (with the veneer peeling away from the top)... not looking quite as great as it did in the photos I saw on Yelp. But the food looked good. I ordered beef (in a thick gravy) over seasoned white rice. Even though it's ready to eat, it's not warmed up, so I had to wait a few minutes for them to plate and microwave it. They added a generous amount of the sauce/gravy to the top, but the gravy kind of disappears into the rice. The flavor wasn't really to my liking... I couldn't identify what exactly was the dominant spice or spices, but they're not a favorite of mine. Regardless, I ate all of the meat... but as you can see from the photos, you should have plenty of RICE left when you're done! I brought some home. Service was casual and consisted of the guys who work behind the counter. It's not real table service. Definitely do not go here on a date unless you know the person is casual and adventurous and not at all scared of a "hole in the wall." The staff there are nice... asked me how I liked the food when I was finished and all. It cost $11 which is totally fair.

What impressed us first was their friendly, efficient and thoughtful service. I believe the man who took our orders was the manager. When he learned that I was a dairy-intolerant vegetarian, he informed me that the two veggie dishes I ordered - Bhindi Masala and Smoked Baingan Bharta - both came with heavy cream but they could switch to coconut milk for an extra $2. Then he went down the list of our order to say that some other items also contained a bit of dairy. I figured that I could survive that much anyway. Although the restaurant sign says "creative Indian cuisine", we stayed mostly with the traditional and our favorites. Our order came very quickly. Arriving in a cute mini tricycle, the samosas were surprisingly plump and substantial. Two of those could easily make a meal for me. The Kure Kure Mushrooms were deep fried and coated with creamy seasonings, bus still retained the chewy bite and aroma of oyster mushrooms. The serving was so large, the spices so abundant that both husband and son said they'd resume this dish after our rice arrived. The meat-eaters were extremely happy with the Malvani lamb, while I was just as impressed with the two vegan dishes. Everything was cooked from scratch, retaining the fresh flavor and texture of the ingredients. There must have been a whole pound or more okra packed in the Bhindi masala, which was dryer yet tastier than what I'd experienced elsewhere, a truly honest value. Baingan Bharta is one of my comfort foods, and their version surely met my expectations :-) We loved their creative Rosemary naan, what a delicious fusion of east and west! The waiting staff kept checking our water supply and other needs. The bill was very reasonable. We are sure to come back for more!

We had a reservation for a party of six at 7:00 pm and were promptly seated and given water when we arrived. Unfortunately, that's where things started to fall apart. We didn't see another staff member for about 45 minutes. Eventually, I believe the manager came over and took our drink, appetizer, and entrée orders all at the same time. Our drinks arrived about 20 minutes later, and the appetizers started coming out intermittently after that. Our entrées didn't start arriving until around 9:00 pm, again coming out one at a time. Some people in our group were nearly finished eating by the time others received their food. We had also ordered naan for the table, but it was the very last thing brought out, at a point when some people had already finished eating and no longer wanted it. Throughout the evening, a young woman did keep our water glasses filled, but aside from taking our order, no one came to check on our table -- no one asked how things were going, whether we needed another drink, or acknowledged the long wait. The final frustration came when we received the bill and saw that a 20% gratuity had been automatically added. Considering the level of service -- at one point we were stacking empty cups on the windowsill just to make room for our food -- this felt pretty disappointing. The food itself was decent, but based on this experience I wouldn't return. One suggestion for management: if in-house service is running extremely slow, it may be worth pausing take-out orders so you can properly serve the customers already dining in the restaurant.
