My friend recommended this place and have to admit i was dubious at first. However, after trying the various dishes, I changed my outlook. Why, you asked. I loved how I could taste different ingredients without overpowering spices. Really, to me, the balance of spice and natural tastes of ingredients is important. I don't like it when a dish is drown in spice and I can't taste anything else. Or that all the dishes taste just the same. So glad I gave this place a try.

Family naan, Half-KBoys Chicken Karahi

First time coming to eat for lunch on a weekend. It was quiet as it was a bit later lunch. The chicken Karahi was really good and tasty. The family naan with garlic and butter was so good and tasted great with all the sauces. Service was decent and they provided good suggestions.

Pakistani BBQ.... oh yess...! This was definitely something new to try, worth a try!! Bold flavors and big portions, make sure go with several people so you get to order several dishes to share. Make room for dessert! You won't regret the Kulfi Falooda....! The most refreshing dessert after some BBQ! Staff is very friendly and will answer all questions. Lots of people come in for dinner, so come in early!

Came here with a couple of so called friends he said was good decided to try out the food. Was abit pricey also spicy. If you have a stomach that can resist anything great if not my advice sit near the bathroom.

Decent food but overpriced, and slow and inconsistent service. Poor service but decent - if overpriced - food. The service is really weird in here. I went in a day when they were almost empty and had like 6-7 staff members wandering around. We got seated quickly but then nobody came to take our order after 15 minutes. Then it took almost 40 minutes for our food to arrive and it only came out after we flagged someone down to find out what was taking so long. After we were served nobody checked up on our table to see if they wanted to order anything else or to clear our plates. Eventually we also had to find someone to get our bill. Each person we interacted with was different. It seems there are no servers just roaming staff not paying attention. The food was decent, the beef kahari was solid, so was the naan. Potato current was pretty flavourless though. The decor and atmosphere feels dated, the lack of actual menus is annoying too. The clientele is people who don't wear shoes or socks (see photo). If you do decide to go here, check the menu in advance online and order as soon as you walk in, don't expect any service, just get it done yourself.

Pakistani BBQ restaurant that is delicious. I had a chance to try almost everything that was vegetarian on the menu. Moti Mehal Paneer Karahi was delicious and flavourful. It includes bell pepper, onion, green chilis and paneer (Indian cottage cheese). The family naan was soft and fluffy and our server Aryan recommended butter with it. The garlic naan was perfect not an over powering taste of garlic. The dessert, Gullab Jaman ice cream was very enjoyable. The warm Gullab Jaman provides a nice balance between hot and cold. You have the option of chosing from three different flavours of ice cream which are strawberry, vanilla and mango. Overall it was an amazing experience. The only negative to this restaurant is prices. I believe they are a bit high however it is quality food, with a clean atmosphere and excellent customer service.

Visited Karahi boys with some family friends for a get together. We visited for lunch on a weekend and were able to get seated without a reservation. We ordered a few kababs and their signature chicken Karahi (one spicy and one mild). The kebabs were very well made - flavourful, moist and charred. The Karahi was full of flavour. I did find it a bit oily however. That's the reason for my one star off. We also ordered the large naan which is presented beautifully on a sword hook type of thing. Definitely a showstopper!

Came here with a friend who raves about the food here. We got one of the goat dishes, okra, and Naan. The goat is spiced perfectly and has great flavour. It's not a crazy good value for the price but it's decent for 2 people. The thing is as you continue to eat, it's starts to taste extremely salty by the end you're almost forcing yourself to finish it. The okra was decent but nothing to brag about

The concept is great, the execution not so much. I really wanted to LOVE this place as I really enjoy authentic Pakistani food. The setting is decent; booths and tables. The menu was entirely online, so if you don't have data, you are stuck! The positive- the food is tasty. We ordered the karahi chicken and karahi goat. Karahi is a style of cooking- karahi means the south Asian version of a wok. The curry is a thicker sauce. Both dishes were really good. We also ordered the bbq platter which came with a mix of grilled meats: beef kebab, chicken kebab, chicken cubes, and tikka kebabs. This arrived in a sizzling platter, all delicious. The naans were huge and really well made. The drinks were fantastic. A menu of mock tails and all the drinks were great. The virgin pina colada was amazing! The negative- the timing was off. They were not incredibly busy, but there was a good number of customers and a lot of servers, which is great. It took forever for someone to come and get our order. We were a party of ten, so hard to miss us. We had to ask someone to finally come over. Our orders were taken and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. But the naans took forever. So if you bring out sizzling platters and woks of food, you need to bring out the naans in a reasonable amount of time, otherwise we are just eating meat! There were hardly any condiments served with the food, and this is almost a must. A tiny pot of green chutney for the entire table was served. No yogurt based side, normally given complimentary at other places. A plate of salad came out as our meal ended. So the service was poor. Items came out in drips, and that would not be an issue if the naan was served first. Perhaps half the naans served? Instead of waiting for all of them to be made? Next- the bathrooms. Disgusting. Don't go here. Fortunately I did not see this myself but several of my family members decided to go and then returned saying they would rather wait. Enough said. Overall- this place might be great for a takeout and the drinks are very cool. I don't think I will be returning to eat in the premises. Better management is needed.

Food Feast at the Karahi Boys

A few weeks back, I visited Karahi Boys for the grand opening of their 5th location and, this time it was in Vaughan. To be honest, I still can't stop drooling over their yummy food. Placed right across Canada wonderland & close to hwy 400 & 407, Karahi Boys has their unique concept of serving all their traditional dishes in a Karhai. Also, all their flavourful tandoori dishes were filled with spices and grilled to perfection. What all did I try? KBoys Chicken Karahi - It's a tomato-based, traditional Lahori-style chicken made with yogurt, tomatoes and fresh spices and served in Karhai. Aashik Chicken Seekh Kebab - Straight from the tandoor, these chicken kebabs were juicy, flavourful and marinated with Kboys fresh spices. Paneer Tikka - The charcoal-grilled tandoori paneer was induced with some fresh Kboys spices and, were massive in size. They were deliciously tender and just got melted in the mouth in no seconds. Butter Garlic Naan (Jumbo Size) - The jumbo-sized Naan was cooked in tandoor with garlic, cilantro. It was buttered to perfect and came out soft as a pillow. Chicken Dum Biryani - Relished some delicious slow-cooked Biryani after a long time. Spices, rice and chicken were on point. Khoya Kheer - This most popular dessert consists of traditional rice pudding, cooked fresh in-house and, to top up the authenticity, it's served in a clay dish. I enjoyed devouring on to this feast and, some of my favourites and recommended dishes would be Kboys Chicken Karahi, Chicken Seekh Kebab and Khoya Kheer. Which one was your favourite dish? The spices and aromas of this food is incredible! The sauce has so much flavour and the meats are cooked so soft and tender, the chicken is juicy falls off the bone like nothing. My only complaint is: I wish they had beer. But I think it's Islamic- so I guess it makes sense that they don't serve alcohol. Other than that the food was outstanding.

Culturally,  a Chachu is one who ensures the younger ones in the family are fed, happy, and taken care of. The female staff member, Hadia, was very personable and helpful. I ordered a bowl on rice ($12.99). The staff was nice enough to offer me half Chicken Tikka (yellowish in colour) and half Tandoori Chicken (reddish in colour). The Tikka is mild spicy, and the Tandoori is medium spicy. Both were good. There was a little bit of chopped vegetables. I also ordered a drink dessert called Falooda ($6.99). The thick drink is a mix of creamy milk, rose water, vermicelli, basil, and raisin. Three scoops of vanilla ice cream were added on top. The vermicelli is either made of flour or agar. I was quite uncomfortable during the whole meal and that's without wearing or holding heavy winter jacket etc. I wonder what was here before maybe a cafe as the space seemed to be geared towards that. Stairs to go down are also a bit of unnerving venture with winter boots. Washrooms hmm need to be lit and cleaned better unless they are part of the theme! Here is a play by play of the food: Squash chaat hmm didn't enjoy this at all. I couldn't identify much in terms of the taste and the spicing/sauces? didn't add anything to it either. Karahi chicken bun a decent take on this street side food with spice not held back. I enjoyed this somewhat the person I dined with it didn't. Samosa chaat: again a decent take on this street side dish. The sauces are elevated a bit from what one expects. Decent kick as well and tamarind taste coming through in the sauce. Roasted paneer: very disappointing dish. I was expecting a lot of taste either from the sauce or the paneer itself. Nope not the case at all. Big chunks devoid of any character. Beef kebab: hmm ok for what you expect. The charred cabbage was better than the main IMO. Sourdough naan decent. I can't really expect Gerarrd street prices here as the neighborhood and overheads wouldn't allow it. The appetizer (chaat) items are decent but the mains are below average. 2.5 stars out of 5 especially due to the uncomfortable setup.

The menu consists of small plates that are meant to be shared among others (or not). There is also an extensive wine list and cocktails with a Southeast Asian twist. The restaurant space is small and intimate, seating around 25 customers with both bar and table seats available. Washroom is not accessible as it does require one to navigate a set of stairs. I had been following Jamil's Chaat House on Instagram for a while now and was excited to try their food! I stopped by after work at 5pm for a drink and pre-dinner small bites where I sat at the bar. I was surprised that even at 5pm the restaurant was already half full. Staff were super friendly and went through the menu with me, making sure if I had any questions they'd be happy to answer them. I ordered an Alma Sour cocktail, the dahi puri (semolina, potato, chickpea, tamarind, cilantro yogurt), the smoked baingan kachumar (eggplant, tomato, ginger - served chilled), and the gulab jamun (cardamom syrup, rose petals, lime zest). All the dishes and the cocktail packed a punch of flavour and were all delicious! I especially enjoyed the dahi puri and the gulab jamun wasn't too sweet. Staff did recommend the karahi chicken bun but I wasn't sure if it would be too much food for me (will have to try it next time!!). Overall, a great new spot along Queen St. W. serving Pakistani street food that packs a punch of flavour. Cocktails are creative and service was great as well. A casual spot for a pre-dinner snack, dinner with friends, or late night eats (they close at 11pm!).

It's pretty delicious and one is enough to fill you up. Earlier I have had spicy corn and kulfi which is pretty standard. The corn is grilled over fire and topped with lime and chilli masala. They do keep Kashmiri pink tea. We normally just order it and eat it in the car. During covid times their seating is very limited and clustered hence I wouldn't like to take any chances. As far the the pricing goes it's pretty cheap. So 2 bun kababs, a chaat and a diet coke came to around $21. If you're looking for good ambience it's not the place to go. On weekends and holidays their order taking is pretty backed up. Lots of street parking. It is on Gerard street.
