Well not good is an understatement, We made reservations 30 days in advance as it was always busy. We arrived for our 6:45 pm dinner time and had to park out back in the post office. All the street parking was taken.
We were greeted when we entered and promptly seated, the spot of the table was right in front of the glass kitchen viewing windows. this was a high traffic area and was very busy. The staff did not make us wait long and we were able to order shortly after ordering drinks. As we watched the food come and go we waited and tried to talk with all the wait staff moving to the bar in our high traffic area. Staff checked on us several times and watching the bar Manager direct the flow was amazing. Our first course came out and the mussels were amazing and that is where it stopped. Like a train hitting a stopped car the kitchen seemed to be lost after that, we asked for the type of tea they had they stated the brand we enjoy and then changed that to a brand that is not good, we then say them making cappuccino at the bar being evening we asked for decaffeinated one and were told the coffee they used and had ground was not decafe and they could not do that.
We ordered the prime rib and the ribs one with freets ( shoe string) as listed in the menu and beans and rice for the other . The prime rib we had been watching all night just feet away through the glass looked amazing, it was not even close to meh. When the food arrived the Med rare prime rib was well done and cold they had put whipped or mashed on that plate and forgot the freets these whipped came from a bag as we watched them squeeze them in to the steam table for service. They brought the freets that were large wedges and they were ok but the rest of that dish was sent back as uneatable. The ribs were just warm but tender, the beans and rice were instant rice or very over cooked rice and canned pinto beans on top not even cooked together. We were offered replacements and only paid for the mussels, drinks and one dinner the bill was 40 dollars and the staff was amazing. Having worked in the food industry for over 25 years the front of the hose and the kitchen need to have a balance and flow they do not. The kitchen needs to learn how to cook and read tickets and get orders correct. If you have prime rib that is already Med rare you can not cook it more to get to Med rare! If you are looking for a place where the staff is great and yo will drink so much the taste of the food does not matter to you then this is your place. But we will not be back unless the Kitchen staff is improved and they learn how to cook and read tickets. We were more disappointed as this place had been highly rated and friends had stated we needed to try them out. Please make up your own mind but if it is good food you want then drive by and find someplace else.
